As I've shared with you before, I'm a huge closet Sailor Moon fan. After all, who would think that a mature woman such as myself would enjoy watching a children's television show? I started watching with my children who quickly fell in love with the quirky characters. Each one of the girls had special powers that were unique to her. Sailor Moon/Serena was often silly, lazy and boy crazy! All the things that most girls are. In my previous post, I spoke about episode 5 where Ami is almost captured during a computer class she was taking. Today I want to share with you the lesson I learned from Sailor Mars. Rei lives at Cherry Hill Temple with her grandfather. He is quite a character in himself. It is as if he has no filter on his mouth. Everything that he thinks comes out his lips! Yet, Rei is a hard worker, caring for him and making sure that the temple is successful. She has a fiery temper and sometimes lets that get the best of her in her dealings with others, especially her grandfather. But she loves him unconditionally. Loving family is an important trait to have. As we grow up, we want to be seen as our own adults, yet we will always be a part of our family. They are the ones you will rely on and they will in turn rely on you. Rei shows this with her interactions toward her grandfather. It is an important lesson that most of us lose as society has caused us to live farther from our families. Grandparents are the link to your family's history and the link to your own past. Loving them can be challenging but they deserve it. Below is the link to episode 7 where we meet Rei and her grandfather, as well as see how the Negaverse is after energy yet again.
