Return to the 80's! #newrelease #newromance #newNAromance

4/24/2023

Picture
The 1980's were a wondrous time. I was in high school and so in love. The music and fashions are fondly remembered. But the 1980's is more than Cindy Lauper and popped collars. It was a time when girls began to demand more than marriage and children. We looked at careers. Technology was in its infancy with computers the size of small closets and cell phones that came with a box.

I love THE DANCE for the 1980's references but it's the love story between Cate and Noah that had me turning the pages! These are two young adults who are trying to figure out what they want in life and have turned a trip around the rink into a message about life and love.

THE DANCE is an emotional story that will engage readers as they connect with these amazing characters. Author Grea Warner is known for her powerful stories and THE DANCE is another fabulous one!

Now available in Ebook and paperback, grab a copy of THE DANCE for yourself.

Stepping onto the ice was frightening. Doing so required trust … and not just that of her feet. It also involved Cate’s head and heart. Trusting meant she had to forget what happened in the past.

At twenty-two years old, Cate Lentz is starting to understand Noah’s comparison of skating to a dance. The same, she realizes, can be said about life itself. You have to release the walls surrounding you in order to feel light and free. You also need the right partner. With the NHL rookie at her side, Cate is beginning to see a new and exciting life-canvas in front of her—similar to the paintings she creates in her art studio.

But as smooth as ice is, everyone tumbles and falls sometimes. When her ex, Leo, makes a reappearance in Cate’s life, his mental instability creates such turmoil and heartache that it’s hard for her to stand back up. Can she find a way to dance again after tragedy strikes?

Pulling at heartstrings and dealing with realistic issues, The Dance is a gripping tale that travels the reader back to the year 1980. This emotional story will leave you with a true appreciation for being both independently strong but also grateful for those who are by your side … no matter what.

EXCERPT
Glancing at the paper, I mentally acknowledged it was, indeed, a local number. And I resigned myself to the fact of his new residency. “Okay. Um, Noah and I need to go.”

There weren’t any “nice seeing you agains” between us or “nice meeting yous” between the men. The fact was, I hadn’t even introduced them. Although, I was pretty sure both guys understood each other’s role in my life. There was only silence as Noah opened the passenger door for me and then walked around the car to get into his side. Leo stood once again against the gallery wall, with his hands shoved into his front pockets.

As we drove farther away, the image of my ex in the rearview mirror got to the small point in a perspective drawing known as the vanishing point. Even though I could no longer see him, I knew he was not gone. I could definitely sense him … and I wanted that to go away, too.

Like a near savage, I tore out the elastic band holding back my hair and flung it out the window. It was cathartic but not what I needed most. “Noah … hand.” It came out part demand, part plea, as I extended my left arm in his direction.

Silent until then, he looked over at me, paused for a beat, and then spoke softly but directly. “You didn’t want it a few minutes or so ago.”

Oh, man. In addition to the unnerving feeling of the unexpected encounter with Leo, I was emotionally toppled knowing I had, unwillingly, hurt Noah. “I’m sorry. It wouldn’t have gone over well with him, but, believe me, I did. You have no idea how mu—” As I started the last word, his hand encapsulated mine protectively, as if we were on ice and I was in danger of falling down a hill at the same time.

Trying to Choose- Torn Between Two Guys #coverreveal #newpreorder

4/20/2023

Picture
When I was in high school, I had two guys that I was seeing. They didn't necessarily know I was seeing both of them. I felt that I needed to choose. I couldn't date both of them. If LUCKY were to see me, she'd have said... Why!!

I am in love with the main character in Author GiGi DeGraham's latest book, LUCKY. Her heroine, named Lucky, is a forward thinking girl. One who doesn't follow the rules. In fact, she makes her own. Honestly, I wish I was more like her. Nevertheless, the book LUCKY is a wonderful story of growing up and going for what you want (and what you deserve).

LUCKY is available now for preorder, with a release date of May 23rd. You will want to get this book. It's one that will stay with you. So don't miss out!

Blurb:
Can a girl from Sunset Pines Trailer Park really hack it at Halton Prep? How hard can it be?

Lucky’s life hasn’t been fortunate, despite her name. Not the rich or even middle-class families ever lived in the Sunset Pines Trailer Park but Lucky and her father have love, even if they don’t have much else. Skipping school wasn’t her brightest idea but Lucky never met a rule she didn’t want to break.

Lucky would do anything to keep her father out of jail, but going to Halton Prep for her senior year? Didn’t the judge know kids from the trailer park NEVER step foot into that ‘Richy-Rich’ school? But her choice wasn’t hard. It’s agree to go or her dad spends time behind bars.

Whatever. Lucky will do anything to protect her father. She’ll compromise for his sake, but Halton Prep’s dress code isn’t all Lucky must deal with.

One hot footballer, Whit Graham has claimed Lucky as his and tries his best to become her only guy. Anyone who gets in his way might need a little friendly reminder, even if they are a star cross country athlete. But Hudson Preston isn’t intimidated by the mighty Whit Graham, or his Hellcat Crew. He doesn’t abide by anyone’s stupid bro-code and sets his sights on Lucky.

Two hot guys both want to be her one and only but Lucky’s never seen things the way most people do. Now that she’s on this compromising kick, she’s looking at Whit Graham and Hudson Preston with a new idea in mind.

The question is, would they even consider it? There’s only one way to find out, and it’s—Game On.

GiGi DeGraham’s coming of age romance will have readers cheering for the unique heroine, Lucky, who sees the world through the lens of possibility and without labels. A young woman who risks it all for the two guys who are willing to go through the fire of High School and emerge stronger than ever. Whit and Hudson will show Lucky what the true meaning of friendship and love is… as well as just how Lucky she is.

About the Author:
I stood in line at a gas station waiting for my turn to pay. It was a hot afternoon in April. I had just signed up for a summer class called “Book Bootcamp,” during my undergraduate program. The man in front of me in the long line wore a mechanic’s uniform. He was grease smudged and death gripped a cold, heavy case of Bud in bottles. Someone was buying a bunch of lottery tickets in front of us and we shared a moment of mutual irritation as strangers in lines after work sometimes do.

While the mechanic white-knuckled the cardboard handle, I took him in with the eye of a writer. He tossed a single sucker on top of his beer. After he paid, he let out a relieved sigh, gave me a head nod, then headed outside to his old truck. As I suspected, it started up smoothly, despite its age, and I noticed the waiting passenger. A little ponytail turned and a sucker was placed in her outstretched palm. I stepped up for my turn to pay, and in my mind, a character was born. That’s how I (sort of) met Bud Luck and he became the foundation and unlikely hero of this novel.

I love telling that story about how unexpectedly inspiration can strike, and I loved the challenge of writing Lucky. I hope you will enjoy reading it and I thank you, the reader, for investing your time in my work. I look forward to reading your review and encourage you to leave one. I believe writers and readers are collaborators in a unique relationship with each other. I read, appreciate, and utilize your feedback.

When I’m not writing (which is never), I live, play, and learn in New Orleans. While I do enjoy writing in multiple genres, Romance is my favorite. For fun, I enjoy fixing up old houses. Many of my story ideas develop while sanding and painting or doing yard work. Music also inspires me.

You’ll always find me with an audiobook in my ear. I prefer the outdoors when the weather permits, going on rock or fossil hunts or visiting local rock shops. Otherwise, I’m extremely boring, clacking away at my keyboard until the wee hours. I enjoy wearing funny T-Shirts with sayings like: All my friends are made up or I live in my own worlds. I do believe downtime should be spent on a porch swing in the south with a good book in your hand.

Working Through Tough Times #newrelease #newromance

4/17/2023

Picture

Anyone in a relationship has faced tough times. The beginning of a romance is all pink hearts and butterfly kisses but that is often replaced by reminders to take out the garbage or picking up after the kids. All of the other parts of your life sometimes zap the romance out of your relationship.

I love that Author Julie Navickas doesn't brush the tough times aside. She shines a light on those challenges and gives readers a happy ending to embrace. In the final book in the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy- I'LL LOVE YOU TOMORROW, the married hero and heroine deal with all the junk that gets in the way of the romance.

Lauren and Mitch have always known they should be together. Their love was spontaneous and comfortable. They fit together. Their life was magical...until it wasn't. Over time responsibilities forced them to drift apart.

This story really spoke to me. I've been married before to my high school sweetheart and our romance was one I thought would last forever. Sadly, we couldn't put our life back together but it only made me cheer all that louder for Lauren and Mitch. Trust me.... you will want to grab a copy of this story for yourself! And lucky for you... it's out now!!

Blurb:
Las Vegas. The city of lights, smiles, and memories.

Lauren Templeton knew at six-years-old she would one day marry Mitch Benson. He began earning the title of soulmate the moment he let her cut in line for the swing set. Twenty years later and Mitch sealed the deal at a cheap Vegas wedding chapel. That night, the modest diamond on her finger shined brighter than all the lights in Sin City.

But as the honeymoon years of wedded bliss fade, Mitch pulls away without reason. Confused and hurt by his sudden change of heart, Lauren pours every ounce of her soul into Pier Ninety-Two—her once swanky, now barely surviving restaurant in downtown Los Angeles.

When Pier Ninety-Two burns to the ground in a grease fire, Lauren is left with nothing but sorrow, legal consequences, and a failing marriage. She reels from the sudden, heartbreaking losses—and mourns the life and love she once shared with Mitch. Fueled by the flame of injustice, Lauren stacks her chips, ready to risk it all on red, consequences be damned. After all, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Jump right into the final book in the Trading Heartbeats trilogy! While each story can be read as a standalone, common characters are woven throughout each book that will leave you pining for more. Julie Navickas’ stories are full of raw emotion, heart-stopping plot twists, and have no shortage of flawed heroes.

You won’t want to miss a beat in this trilogy!

EXCERPT:
Mitch closed his eyes as the air left his lungs. His vision darkened, fogging all coherent thoughts in his brain. Her floral perfume invaded his nose, the sweet scent both calming and relaxing.

That can’t be lavender.

As he opened his eyes, his heartbeat increased as a blonde curl tickled his cheek. “You can’t be here for a story, Tess. My last name isn’t Templeton,” he whispered, and tugged at the hem of her shirt as her lips continued their pursuit of passion. His fingers glided along the smooth skin at her waist.

This is so wrong. What am I doing?

She sighed. “It’s shitty watching the person you love find happiness in someone--or something—else,” she murmured in his ear, nipping his lobe with her teeth. “And I think… that’s something we also share in common.”

You see right through me.

Her fingers dipped below his t-shirt, traveling along his chest as her hips rocked on top of him.

Sputtering for air, Mitch gripped her hands and halted their exploration. Her ragged breaths competed with the creeks of the floorboards, the house seemingly settling in with each echo.

“I did want another article,” she whispered, her gaze finding his as her hands obeyed captivity. She shook her head, and forced the loose curls from her face. “But now, Mitch Benson, I think I just want you instead.”

The blood pounded in his veins, forcing a ringing in his ears to overcome her soft voice. The world muffled as she resumed rocking against his pelvis, the pressure and friction clouding his mind as pleasure superseded all rational thought.

His body tingled, bolts of shivers shooting along his skin like a sudden summer storm, gaining momentum in hurried seconds.

“We shouldn’t be doing this. I shouldn’t be doing this,” he choked out.

Blurb:
Fake it till you make it, that’s what they say.

And that’s what Ivy was doing. She’d do anything to save her ranch. Anything. Including pretending to be engaged to a handsome, retired Marine to placate her sexist clients. Not that draping herself over Ace was a hardship. It wasn’t. She just wished he could get over his hero complex and stop trying to save her. There were far better ways they could be spending their time.

Sweet, shy, and babbling Ivy had gotten so far under Ace’s skin, he knew he was in trouble. Faking a relationship may have been his idea but he knew deep down he didn’t stand a chance with her in real life. Medically discharged from the military, it wasn’t just internal battle scars he’d been left with, he also had some big ugly ones on his face too. If he couldn’t even look himself in the mirror, no one else ever would be able to either. Especially not the most beautiful woman he’d ever laid eyes on.

Can these two wounded souls turn their fake relationship into a real one?

HERO COMPLEX- the third book in the Bluestone Series is a sizzling fake engagement story featuring a scarred Marine and the woman who sees only his big heart. EXCERPT:
The door to the parlor opened and Buck’s son Jefferson Buchanan, entered the room. He saw Savvy and grinned. “Hello, Dad. Hello, Audrey. Good to see you, Savannah,” he said.

Savvy stared without blinking and nodded to him.

Morgan leaned over to Caleb and said, “I swear to God, I heard violins when he looked at her.” Caleb nodded agreement but never took his gaze off the couple.

“Please join us, Jeff. There’s one seat left next to Savannah. I had so hoped you’d be able to be here today,” Audrey said.

“I smell a setup,” Morgan whispered.

“No kidding,” Caleb replied. “But by Audrey or Buck?”

“Hmm, I don’t know.”

Jeff sat next to Savvy. She closed her eyes and took a deep, cleansing breath. Morgan knew from experience that Savannah was back in control. “Well, Jeff, what brings you here today?” she asked.

“My father’s wedding. And you, Savannah.”

“Hunh?” Savvy squeaked.

“You. There’s so much I wanted to talk about when you were here before, but our schedules didn’t allow it. Today, I’m free all afternoon. How about you?”

“Sure, yes. I think I’m available as long as Mama doesn’t need me.”

“You go on and enjoy reminiscing about the old days. Buck and I will entertain Caleb and Morgan. Just be back in time to get ready for the rehearsal dinner,” Audrey said.

Jeff stood and took Savvy’s hand. She let him lead her to the front door. “We’re not going to leave the property. Dad, if you need me, just call. Audrey, if you need Savannah, just call my cell.”

Morgan noticed that Savvy was not as sure-footed as usual. She seemed ready to faint or fall over. “Did you notice that Savvy was at a loss for words and stumbling, besides?” she asked.
Caleb answered, “Yep. I bet that hasn’t happened before.”

“Not in this century,” Morgan said.
