Do you Believe in Reincarnation? #Death's_Name_is_Ira #Brian_Sheehy

5/29/2017

Do you believe in reincarnation? I am not sure. I've done some reading on it but I'd like to hope that we are all in heaven with our loved ones instead of coming back and reliving those difficult choices of our lives. However, to know that soul mates can connect again after death is something I would love to believe. Knowing that my love is someone I have been with in many times throughout the centuries is a part of the Happily Ever After I long to live.

In Brian Sheehy's latest book, we get to meet a man who's job it is to help people cross over after death. But what happens when he has to take the soul of the woman he has always loved? Here's an excerpt....

“You see, Mr. Campbell, what I have to tell you may be difficult for you to accept. I only hope you’ll listen to what I have to say with an open and unbiased mind. I realize that may be difficult, given how outlandish my claims will seem, but I promise you that I am telling the truth. You may be skeptical or, more likely, disbelieving, but if you would just humor me until I can finish my explanation, I think eventually you’ll realize I’m being completely and utterly honest with you.”

He paused again, offering Campbell a second opportunity to speak if he wished to. Campbell frowned and did not say anything, but gave the stranger a slight nod of consent.

“Thank you,” Ira said, solemnly. “I’m here, Mr. Campbell, because you are dead.”
He said the words so matter-of-factly that for a moment Campbell was sure he had misheard him. “Dead?” he repeated and then gave a small, scoffing laugh. “How can I be dead? I’m sitting here right now, talking to you.”

“Yes,” Ira allowed, nodding, “but I’m something of a special case. As far as every other living being on this planet is concerned, Michael Campbell died in his sleep a few moments ago, just as I walked through the door. You died of a heart attack, the result of complications from your surgery.”

“The surgery was a success,” Campbell said, shaking his head, for a moment allowing himself to believe this stranger in his room was not the madman he obviously appeared to be, if only for the sake of argument. “I spoke to my doctor a few hours ago— he told me everything went well. I’m supposed to be going home tomorrow for chrissake!”

The man gave his small, gentle smile again. “Unfortunately, Mr. Campbell, doctors are often wrong. Reapers, on the other hand, are scarcely ever.”

Love doesn't end after death... but dying certainly complicates things...

For Ira Collins, death presented a far more purposeful alternative than life. Serving as one of the proud members of the Reaper Corps, he found meaning and fulfillment in the process of helping those who have died adjust to their new existence in the spiritual plane. For Ira, the work was so rewarding that it was even worth forgoing reincarnation for.

However, when he is tasked with reaping the reincarnated soul of the woman he loved back when he was alive, Ira finds himself in a very difficult situation. Should he betray the Corps for the sake of the woman he loves, or live up to his responsibility to the rest of the reapers, and let her die?

And as if this was not complicated enough, Ira must also help solve a disturbing mystery plaguing the spiritual plane, involving the disappearances of souls…

Soul Awakening Now On Sale! #new_release

Can you see how the two faces almost form a heart? Having that one person who gets you and still loves you- with all your good and bad habits is bliss. But what happens if you lost them? Could you move on?

Today is the release for Soul Awakening and the story resonated with me. High school is a time when many of us developed those first loves. I ended up married to my high school boyfriend. But what would life have been like if things had been different?

Let's take a look at an excerpt:
“Alecia.”

Her name had come out of Braden’s mouth countless times before in so many different inflections and every possible situation. This time, he spoke her name tentatively, almost warily, his tone unfamiliar even though it was clearly his voice. It had been about ten minutes after she’d gotten off the phone with Riley. She couldn’t sleep, and she was lying in bed, streaming some music on her phone.

“Alecia.”

She raised her head, and her eyes instantly widened. She lifted herself upright on the bed and gazed directly at Braden, who was standing in the middle of the room. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. She didn’t know if she was awake or asleep at first. If she was dreaming, it was the most realistic dream anyone could ever have. If Braden was an apparition, then so was everyone else she’d ever encountered. Alecia had never seen a ghost before, but she would have expected one to have physical qualities that were vastly different from those of the living. This was Braden, in solid human form, not an ethereal manifestation or translucent likeness. He wasn’t floating in the air, his orange Nikes were planted firmly on the wood floor of her bedroom. His voice wasn’t accompanied by moaning, shrieks, or rattling chains.

It was uncanny. Not only was Braden here in the corporeal sense, he looked exactly as he would have if he’d survived the accident. His hair had been cut short the day before the accident. Now, however, it had almost two full weeks of growth. And while he didn’t have much in the way of facial hair, he was sporting a stubbly beard and mustache. It was a new look for Braden, and Alecia was not hating it.

Soul Awakening:
Something otherworldly is happening in a small Texas town.

As a small Texas town mourns the tragic death of its high school football star, Alecia is struggling to adjust to life without the boy she has dated since sixth grade and thought she would be with forever.

When Braden comes to her as an apparition, she finds herself falling for Riley, Braden’s best friend and teammate. Has Braden returned to spy on her, or for some other reason?

Alecia’s not sure, but she soon realizes she must find a way to accept Braden’s death and welcome love back into her life, or risk losing everything.

Do You Like Free? What aBout A Free Navy SEAL?

5/23/2017

Picture
Hi Melissa Keir and all you fabulous readers out there *waves* Thank you so much for having me today! I’m super excited to be here! I have a couple giveaways and a free book to offer you so read on to find out how to take advantage of fun, free books!

Ever since I picked up my first Suzanne Brockmann Navy SEAL book I’ve been in love with these tough, incredibly intelligent men. I knew I had to write my own series with my own SEAL team. A SEAL’s Song is the first book in my SEAL Team Alpha series and what an incredible journey it was for both me and my characters! Today, I’m bringing you a special interview with the hero and heroine from A SEAL’s Song. I hope you enjoy meeting Jack and Darci as much as I enjoyed writing them.

P.S. A SEAL’s Song is FREE on Amazon May 23-25 so be sure to grab your free copy HERE!

Did you ever think that your life would end up being in a book?

Jack: Hell, no.

Darci: No, but it’s flattering.

What are your favorite scenes in your book: the action, the dialog or the romance?

Darci: *smiles* The romance. I already know what Jack is going to say.

Jack: *grins* Sorry, hun. The action. And the sex.

*Darci rolls her eyes*

What do you like to do when you are not being actively read somewhere?

Jack: Take my sailboat out deep-sea fishing.

Darci: I’m not much for fishing, that’s Jack’s thing. I’m usually in my studio writing and composing songs. But, when he gets home… *she smiles at Jack who grins back*

Do you like the way the book ended?

Jack and Darci in unison: Yes.

Would you be interested in a sequel, if your writer was so inclined?

Jack: Not if it means putting Darci in more danger.

Darci: Agreed. Although, with Jack at my side, I wouldn’t be as afraid of what Jennifer threw at us. *leans in and whispers* She likes to torment us.

What do you do for a living?

Darci: *laces her fingers through Jacks* Jack is a Navy SEAL and the bravest, strongest man I know. I’m a singer.

What is your most prized possession?

Darci: A Celtic necklace given to me by my grandmother. Had it not been for that necklace, I never would have met Jack.

What do you like most about where you live?

Jack: Darci approved of my house. That’s all that matters to me.

Darci: He lives in this cute gingerbread house on the ocean. I adore it.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a rainy Sunday?

Jack: *grins* Stay in bed.

Darci: *nods* Definitely.

What is your least favorite word?

Darci: Classified.

What sound or noise do you love?

Jack: Sorry, that’s between me and my wife. *an intimate look passes between Jack and Darci*

What other profession would you like to try?

Darci: I’ve considered becoming a music teacher. Jack, he’s right where he was meant to be.

Jack: *nods*

Do you Love YA Fantasy Romance? Happy Book Birthday to Beyond the Hope! #New_Release

5/16/2017

Much like Connie L. Smith, I always dreamed of wings and the ability to fly. Wiggling my nose to make magic happen or nodding my head... those were dreams too. I loved the idea of doing magic... not the magician's slight of hand, but real magic. The kind that came from a well-spring of power.

I think that's why I love paranormal romances. Characters aren't limited to "human" abilities. They can run like wolves, fly like fairies, talk to ghosts, and perform magic which keeps their loved ones safe. The Division series features all that and more! But don't take my word for it... see for yourself!
Picture
In the aftermath of the latest battle, the stakes are higher than ever before. Time’s hardly an ally to Nicholai’s army of paranormal soldiers. The Tomes remain hidden, and the clock is ticking for the Essenced poisoned with the demon’s incurable toxin.

Beyond those worries, magic might be vanishing—a twist that could insurmountably cripple the army’s capabilities prior to the war’s conclusion.

Never has the conflict felt so desperate, with danger escalating and hope disappearing with the slow drain of the hourglass.

Will the answers surface in time, or will the band of warriors fail to prevent the ruin of the world?

EXCERPT:
His jaw ticked as he stood in silence, and after a quiet moment he shrugged in a helpless way. “I get you’re an alpha. I get you’re strong. But you don’t seem to understand that, when everything falls into place, not one bit of that matters to me.”

She blinked. “Huh?”

“I know you can take care of yourself,” he told her, “and you have no idea how much I appreciate that. You’re gonna need it to survive this.” Again, his jaw ticked. “But you’re still my girl, and I’m still gonna protect you.”

She laughed, surprised. “But there was nothing to protect me from. Yeah, there are some bruises, but he wasn’t intentionally pummeling me.”

With a wave of his left brow, he gave yet another headshake. “Jokes again.”

She sobered at his frustrated tone, and she genuinely tried to make sense of his complaint. Yes, she’d laughed, but she couldn’t help but find his reaction humorous. She fought with demons on a regular basis, and he thought she needed a knight in shining armor against a fellow soldier?

Or maybe he doesn’t think I need one, she soon grasped. Maybe he just needs me to let him be mine.

That thought gave her pause, and she smiled in sudden clarity. If the tables were turned, she’d want—no, need—to protect him and come to his aid so she could fight for him, and next to him.

“Okay. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t laugh.” She sighed while gazing meaningfully at him. “But I do need you to know that I don’t need you to come to my rescue.”

“I do know that,” he agreed. “But I need you to know that I have to anyway.”

She laughed another time, though this one was saturated with affection. “We really are a stubborn couple.”

About the Author:
Connie L. Smith spends a decent amount of time with her mind wandering in fictional places. She reads too much, likes to bake, and might forever be sad that she doesn’t have fairy wings. And that she can’t swing dance. Much of her preferred music is severely outdated, and as an adult she’s kind of obsessed with Power Rangers. She has her BA from Northern Kentucky University in Speech Communication and History (she doesn’t totally get the connection either), and her MA in English and Creative Writing.

But as she will soon discover, Brandon has his own secrets. Some of which defy logic and only add to the mystery surrounding Leah. And mix feelings between the two complicate matters by getting in the way of what they really want, and what they must do.

Can Brandon lighten the load on her by figuring out what or who wants her dead? Or will their past history get in the way of the storm brewing just beyond Leah’s grasp?
EXCERPT:
Movement several yards behind him caught my attention and I glanced around his left shoulder to the woods, noting the quick blur of a figure darting from behind one tree to another. Something was off about the way this person rushed by. It sparked a sense of familiarity that horrified me.

“Brandon, I don’t think we’re alone anymore,” I murmured as another flash of white scurried ever closer. It was too dark for me to determine who it was, but I was certain of one thing: we were being watched.

“What…?” The meaning of my words didn’t immediately dawn on him.

“Someone’s out there.”

Brandon spun around abruptly. He scanned the area briefly as he backed into me while sucking in air. His suddenly rigid posture warned me whoever was out there was not friendly.

Without a single word of explanation, Brandon turned to me and took my hand in his, pulling me down the path we’d used to get to the gazebo. He towed me along in a haste, leaving me no room to protest, or figure out what the hell was going on. A weird, high-pitched hissing sound emanated from somewhere behind us. It startled me and I was tempted to glance over my shoulder, but Brandon’s next words stopped me.

“Don’t look, Leah!” His tone was as serious as I’d ever heard it, which freaked me out even more. What was he so scared of?

Identical Young Ladies

Picture
The survival of multiple births was rare in the Late Victorian Britain. Not surprising, given the myriad of poisons that contaminated their lives. While no woman managed to have even quadruplets in England.  In other countries, not so contaminated, having quadruplets did happen, just not often.
  • Dominica, 1790: According to The Times, a Dr. Giuseppe of Dominica reported that an unnamed enslaved woman living on the estate belonging to Thomas Jemmitt gave birth to four girls, three of them almost eighteen hours after the first was born. All survived birth.
  • The Gehri quadruplets (born September 26, 1880, in Switzerland were the first recorded to have survived to adulthood. There were two boys (Oskar and Arthur) and two girls (Bertha and Rosa).

However, in England, there were no quadruplets, quintuplets, nor sextuplets born during Late Victorian. Give all the poisons in their homes, including arsenic in the wallpaper, asbestos in the walls, raw sewage seeping up through improper toilets, not to mention tainted milk and mothers quieting their babies with laudanum, heroine, and cocaine it was frankly a miracle that any child managed to survive to adulthood.
In reality, the first set of English sextuplets weren’t born until nearly a century later.
  • The Thorns sextuplets (born October 2, 1968 in Birmingham, England, were born to Sheila and Barry Thorns. They were the first sextuplets known to have been born alive in the United Kingdom, but one baby died shortly after birth, and another two died within the next 2 weeks.
Thus, it is of little surprise when Francis, a doctor, is shocked that Douglas is claiming six identical daughters and they all are healthy.  He has never heard of case where it was so. But Douglas is like a father to him, so he is not going to challenge him. But how did the medical journals not record this?

Six Sisters of Shame
By
Liza O’Connor

Blurb
In his second marriage, a marriage of true love, Douglas Marsh has acquired six beautiful, identical daughters, who have made a pact never to marry. All are a challenge to the strict mores and interests that young ladies of Victorian England should have, but all are uniquely wonderful. He strives to match his new daughters to men who can appreciate each girl’s talents and interests. Only, one of his daughters wishes to choose for herself, and her choice sets off repercussions that could destroy them all.
WARNING: THIS STORY INCLUDES SOME SEXUALLY EXPLICIT SCENES.

Excerpt
“So how is it we never met your beautiful bride before the wedding?” Teddy asked while impatiently waiting for the butler to reach his bowl and pour his soup.
Douglas chuckled at his ridiculous question. “Are you serious? I proposed on our second date, and when to my shock, she said yes, I arranged immediately for a special license and married her within a week. A man does not display his discovery of priceless jewels until they are legally his.”
“Douglas, really! You cannot refer to your wife in such a manner,” Margaret scolded. “And to deny a bride a beautiful wedding is unconscionable!”
Angelica came immediately to his defense. “I did not mind at all. I would have married him the same day he asked if such a thing were possible.”
Both Margaret and Kathleen paled at her words, but the men eyed Angelica with speculation. They were no doubt pondering what dark secret had forced her to settle so quickly for so little.
“Do you have any children?” Margaret asked.
Of course, the woman would burrow directly to the problem that had chased every other suitor away: Angelica’s daughters.
He spoke before Angelica could answer, preferring to take on John’s wife himself. Any offense he gave would be forgiven. That would not be the case for his dear wife. “Six girls.” Douglas laid his hand over Angelica’s to remind her she was no longer alone in this world. “Six beautiful, talented, and intelligent young ladies.”
“Six!” Margaret’s narrowed eyes and grim, tight lips left no doubt of her disapproval of such excessive proliferation. She had provided John one son in their first year of marriage and that had been all that was required of her. It was not her fault that her son, Sawyer, had died two years later from cholera. “And what are their ages?”
“All are twenty-one, born the same night.” He glanced at Francis seated on the other side of the table. “What’s the name for that?”
“Sextuplets.” Francis’ brow deepened with worry as he focused on Angelica. “Are they healthy?”
“Thriving beauties.” Douglas answered.
His eyebrows rose. “That is most fortunate. I have never heard of a case where it was so.”
“I am most fortunate.” Douglas lifted his wife’s hand and kissed it. “If not for those beautiful young ladies, I wouldn’t have had a chance for such a jewel.”
Angelica blushed. “Douglas, you cannot say that. I loved you from the first day we met.”
He kissed her hand again. “You are most gracious, my dear.”
She extracted her hand and touched his cheek lovingly. “I would rather be praised for picking the best man based on intelligence and character. I am quite certain your friends will support me when I say you have the finest character and extraordinary intelligence.”

Remarriage always comes with baggage. But when Douglas Marsh married the beautiful, Angelica, the baggage was more than a past... he adopted 6 identical daughters who had vowed to never marry.

Ms. O'Connor writes stories which get me thinking. I am drawn into the characters' lives and can relate with some of the crazy things which happen to them. It all seems so natural...but this novel featured a mystery and I couldn't wait to figure it out! Then even once I knew, Ms. O'Connor sent my poor heart on another journey as the worst could happen! I couldn't put the book down!

Even with the near heart attacks and thrills, this book gave me such a smile. I enjoyed seeing the more complex pieces come together and found that love is such a powerful motivator. She reminded me of why I love romance...love is everything!

This novel will draw you in and never let you go. With Princes, men of a shady reputation, doctors, musicians, artists and high ranking government officials, this book has a character for everyone! I highly recommend it to fans of Gothic stories or true romantics! In fact, Ms. O'Connor might just have solved the Jack the Ripper case! :)

The BodyGuard Delights! #New_release #wende Dikec

Strong female characters are very popular. We love our heroines to kick butt and even save the hero at times! Finally, you have an amazing Young Adult series (and the Bodyguard is just the beginning) about a secret group of women who are trained to guard the world's richest and most important. It's run by a company where women are the CEO's and make all the decisions. It's a woman's world!

Descended from a secret race of Amazon Warriors, Ana Thermadosa is not like other girls. As a student at Artemis Academy, the training grounds for a mysterious company called Cerberus Enterprises, Ana has spent her life learning what is important.

How to fight, how to win, how to kill, and, mostly importantly, how to follow orders and live up to the expectations of her powerful family.

Trained in the art of warfare since birth, now her skills are being put to the test. She’s been hired to defend Jordan Banks, the wealthy son of a nefarious businessman, from kidnappers.

She despises Jordan and all he stands for, but soon comes to realize that many things in the outside word aren’t as she’s been led to believe. She also discovers Jordan isn’t what she expected, and, against her better judgment, finds herself starting to care for him.

When disaster strikes, Ana is put in a difficult predicament. Keeping Jordan safe would mean betraying her own people and everything she believes in, but letting him die would mean betraying something even more important.

Her own heart.

Excerpt:
“If you’d like a demonstration, I am willing to provide it.”

“A demonstration?” Roman asked with a snort, but Ana could tell he was intrigued. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Philip suppress a grin.

“Me against them.” She looked at the three hulking bodyguards standing behind him. One of them actually had the nerve to giggle. She decided he would be the first to learn a lesson. Bodyguards should never giggle.

Melani had to bite her lip to keep from smiling. “You don’t have to do this, Ana.”

“Yes, I do.” She removed her black jacket, part of the standard issue uniform worn by everyone at the company, and placed it over the back of her chair. Beneath it, she wore a snug, black t-shirt, and comfortable pants. “There’s a sparring room next door.”

“Would you like them to come in one at a time?” Roman asked, trying to sound like a gentleman. Ana knew he thought she was going to get beat up, and she also knew he kind of looked forward to seeing it. He wouldn’t be so lucky today.

She studied the bodyguards, sizing them up from head to toe. All three of them grinned at her. She opened a door that connected to the sparring room ushered them in, leaving everyone else in the conference room.

“No. I can handle them all at once,” she said, shutting the door behind her.

About the Author:
Wende Dikec has spent her life traveling the world, collecting stories wherever she visited. She majored in Japanese and International Economics in college and worked in import/export and as an ESL teacher before she committed herself full time to writing. She writes in several romance genres, and her books are quirky and fun. Wende is a Trekkie, a book hoarder, the master of the Nespresso machine, and the mother of three boys (probably the main reason for her caffeine addiction). A puppy named Capone is the most recent addition to her family, and she blogs about him as a way of maintaining what little sanity she has left. She is the author of TIGER LILY and STARR VALENTINE, and writes adult romance under the name Abigail Drake. She can be found on the web at www.wendedikec.com.
