Gothic Mysteries are a popular genre, brining ghosts and danger to women as they find a way to stand on their own. Vanessa Garden's latest book- WILD ROSE is an epic tale of a young girl who wants to dig deeper into a mystery- The Rose Garden Massacre.

Blurb:
When sixteen-year-old Iris Howard is sent to live with her estranged great-aunt at Howard Hall, nothing can prepare her for what she discovers.

At the stunning estate, she is offered a life of both security and luxury. But all is not as it seems at Howard Hall, home to the infamous Rose Garden Massacre in 1974.

When Iris starts to see glimpses of a boy in the attic, in the hedge maze, and in the beautiful rose gardens, she begins to question her sanity. Is he the handsome ghost of a tortured soul bound by the home’s dark past, or is he real?

Sleeping secrets are awakened when Iris discovers that indeed the mystery boy exists, despite her aunt pretending that he doesn’t.

Iris is soon swept into a forbidden romance with a boy she shouldn’t love, while still yearning for her old life, which can never be.

Workplace Romance #NewRelease #newromance

With people spending so much time at work (before the pandemic) it's no wonder that office romances happen. You see the person day in and day out. You have lunch, chat about your life and even go out after work to celebrate or commiserate.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER is a story you won't be able to put down. From the first page, the characters sizzle. They fight their attraction and then give in with gusto.

KJ Holliday has a wonderful way of storytelling that draws you into the story and makes you feel what happens. Now available in EBOOK, be sure to grab a copy today and stay up reading through the night!

Blurb:
A fun, sexy love story that swaps the narrative of most modern-day office romances.

Caroline Westbrook, the second-generation CEO of her family’s Fortune 500 Company, wanted nothing more than to make Westbrook, LLC uber profitable. When her boyfriend dumps her because she works too much, she isn’t all that surprised. It wasn’t the first time, and it probably wouldn’t be the last.

Enter Colton Bowman, who waltzes into her office late on a Friday night like he owns the place. The disaster of both of their days begins with a drink, and ends with him tossing up her skirts over the side of her desk in the early hours of the morning.

Neither of them expected their night together would leave them wanting more, or that a chance encounter in the company break room a few weeks later would prompt Caroline to do something stupid. She’d just gotten out of a relationship, and didn’t have any desire to jump into another one, but that didn’t stop her from seeking Colton out and tumbling them into a series of sexual encounters that left them both sweaty and satisfied.

Figuring out what she really wants outside of work, while also navigating the intricacies of a potential relationship in modern day Corporate America, proves to be anything but business as usual.

EXCERPT:
“It was fine. Nice.” She moved back through the closet doorway and into her room.

“You totally fucked him again, didn’t you?”

She’d always been a terrible liar, and she was lucky Kat wasn’t standing in front of her to see exactly how red she was. She almost let a hollow “no” spill from her lips before she let out the “yes” on a sigh.

“Caaaaaaalllleeeeddd it,” Kat sang.

Tossing in a cover-up, she mentally went down her list of what to pack next. Jewelry? Yeah, jewelry. “Why are you surprised? You watched me take off my panties before I left with him.”

About the Author:
I started writing when I was nine years old. I was in love, it was poetry, and it was absolutely awful. I’ve always loved the written word, and at the age of thirteen I started posting short stories on various free platforms. Short stories grew to multi chapter novellas, which eventually turned to novels. Since then I’ve written hundreds of thousands of words, self-published five short stories, one novel, and am now working with Inkspell Publishing to publish my work.

Going Home #CoverReveal #Michigan

4/19/2021

Picture
While I was born in Ohio, I lived almost all my adult life in Michigan. There's something about a place you've spent so much time. it seeps into your pores and becomes a part of you. It's one of the reasons I love Susan V. Vaughn's Smitten Series. Each story takes place in a small town in Michigan. Her latest is set in Caseville, Michigan. It's known for it's beachy location but also for a big celebration held each year--Cheeseburger Festival.

This celebration takes place over the summer for nine days. There's a parade, live music and great food! While the celebration is amazing, it's the small town ambiance which comes through in Susan's story. The friendly neighbors and charm.

Now available for PreOrder. You'll want to grab a copy of Almost Paradise for yourself and be sure to check out the rest of the Smitten Series.

Blurb:
For Irene Shultz, Caseville is a chance to escape her boring existence and do something outside of her control. Fix up her grandparent’s old home and take steps toward her future. Simple as that. If only she could ignore the flirty local determined to buy her property.

If only she could stop him from stealing her heart…

For Doug Heck, Caseville is his paradise and the home on Carolyn Street is his future. Get a real estate agent and make an offer. Simple as that. If only he could convince the stubborn owner to sell.

If only he could get her beauty off his mind…

Flip a Coin #newrelease #newromance

4/14/2021

Picture
Have you ever had to make a tough decision? What did you do? Did you flip a coin? Sometimes it feels like you are okay with either choice or maybe you don't have a favorite. When that happens, flipping a coin works. It's a 50-50 chance between the choices.

But the two sides of the coin are very different. If we each look at a side, and only see our side, we have no way of knowing the other side. It's a lesson I've always shared with my students.

Grea Warner's new release, HEADS CAROLINA, is a tale of tough decisions and taking chances. Choices come into play for the main characters. Some times those choices are out of their control and other times they have to make a split second decision.

HEADS CAROLINA is a gripping tale of a young woman who is embarking on her future and the man who helps her find her way.

Now available in ebook and print, you will want a copy for your very own!

Blurb:
How did a sheltered girl from Carolina end up in a national scandal involving one of Hollywood’s most powerful music couples?

When want-a-be singer Bethany Opala tries out for a TV talent show, she is rejected. But then comes an amazing offer … a songwriter’s dream. Bethany has the opportunity to learn and develop her skills with top music manager, Ryan Thompson.

With a mutual passion for music and words, Bethany and Ryan’s writing partnership develops into something more … something love songs are written about. And while it isn’t wrong, it isn’t right, at least in the public eye.

Surrounded by secrecy and half-truths, Bethany doesn’t know how much she should put up with. Especially, when one more rejection could scar her for good. Will her decision to leave not only Ryan, but the music business and California, come down to the toss of a coin?

EXCERPT:
When I lifted my eyes away from the six-year-old, I found her father propped against the staircase banister as if he had been casually standing there watching our entire interaction. He probably had been. But was it because he was a protective father making absolutely sure who was at the door, despite the guard at the gate announcing my arrival? Or, was he doing it to keep his distance from me?

Our eyes only met for the slimmest of seconds before we both took refuge in looking back at Sallie. Yes, it was a good thing we had a buffer. Just spotting his intense deep blue eyes on me was enough to make my body tighten.

“Daddy, can Bethany watch with us?”

“Let her in,” Ryan said a little more succinctly that time.

As Sallie stepped aside, I more properly entered the residence and shut the door behind me. I normally would have instantly shrugged off my shoes and started walking further into the interior of the home. But my sandals remained fastened as did my stance.

Ryan, who I noticed was barefoot, answered his daughter’s question. “Bethany isn’t here to watch princess movies, Tink.” Her lower lip stretched out in the cutest little pout as Ryan continued, “You better go make sure your brother doesn’t change the show. He’s the slyest four-year-old I know.”

With her eyes seemingly growing wide at Ryan’s suggestion, she belted, “He wouldn’t dare!”

My belly bounced at the little girl’s dramatic exit. Ryan actually laughed out loud and shook his head. And then … there we were. Alone.

“So … uh, about recording …”

Despite all the conversation starters I had internally scripted on the ride over, that was what came out. It was not even close to being as melodic or smooth as I had hoped. In fact, it was like a stuttering, old vinyl. Although, I suppose anything was better than the silent tension that had invaded the foyer in the matter of seconds.

“Can we deal with the elephant in the room first?”

“There’s nothing—” I tried to just move past the fictional, ugly, gray mammal who wasn’t only occupying the room but also my brain.

But Ryan denied me. “Bethany, we have to talk about the fact that we kissed.”

About the Author:
There really wasn't any other path. Grea Warner knew from a young age that she wanted to write. She was born to write. First it was in diaries with little metal keys and in written tales that she slipped to friends in study hall. School newspapers, a college television drama, and the soap opera world were next. After producing and writing a local show, she decided to delve into the world of the novelist. When her fingers aren't tapping out her latest book filled with angst and romance, Grea can be found hiking the trails or jamming to her favorite country artists on the radio.

Animals in Stories #loveitorhateit #coverreveal

4/12/2021

Picture
Secondary characters who steal the show are one of my favorite parts about reading romance. Sometimes they are simply the best character but not the hero and you can't wait to see what they say or what happens to them. But what about animals in stories? Do they steal the show or just your heart?

In Mindy McKinley's new book SHELTER ME, from her new series THE BAXTER BOYS: BOOK 1, animals are more than simply a plot point. The main character, Jenna is trying to finish her degree so she can become a veterinarian. It's all she's dreamed of. Now working as a vet tech, she gets to love on the animals and we are able to see them play a secondary role in this funny and heartwarming story.

Blurb:
Photographing pets may be the way into her heart….but this veterinarian-in-training is determined not to let a man derail her life.

Studying to be a veterinarian, vet tech Jenna Howard has little time for anything other than school and her work at Chicago Pet Rescue shelter. With no support to fall back on and a mother who is determined to pull her down, Jenna can’t afford to step out of line. Even a night of promised adventure from the hottest bachelor in town isn’t enough to pull her out of her routine.

Newly famous photographer Luke Baxter finds himself enjoying his role as the most eligible bachelor in Chicago. But when he wanders into Chicago Pet Rescue to shoot a fund-raising calendar, and meets the adorably feisty Jenna Howard, everything changes. He’s gotten so used to ‘yes’ that Jenna’s ‘no’ takes him by surprise. Suddenly she’s all he can think about. She’s gorgeous, smart, impossibly difficult to read, and he’ll do almost anything—even adopt a puppy—to make her realize that taking a chance on him doesn’t have to mean giving up on her dreams.

Can he convince her that life isn’t worth living without a little fun?

Will She Fight for Him? #newreleasetoday

4/5/2021

Picture
Amazing story about a damaged hero and the woman who must fight (literally) for him. FIGHT PRINCESS features a kick butt heroine and a passionate romance. You won't be able to put it down.

Blurb:
Things aren’t what they seem. Don’t get involved.

Celisse is too headstrong to listen. Her best friend’s boyfriend is dead, and she does not heed Cullen’s warning, slipped to her in a note as he’s being arrested for the murder.

Cullen tries to keep Celisse out of danger and also tries to avoid her, both unsuccessfully. He can’t deny his feelings for her anymore, but he knows he can’t have her. If she ever discovered the truth about his past, she’d surely hate him.

Struggling with her intense feelings for Cullen, Celisse uses her skills as an ex-prosecutor to investigate, all while continuing to fight for Ogden, the organizer of an underground fight ring. She eventually realizes things are connected: the ring, Ogden, Cullen, the murder—and herself. She races to uncover the truth before she’s arrested or becomes the next victim—or perhaps, the next culprit.

EXCERPT:
He followed as she guided him into the steaming shower. Her hands on his chest, she pushed him into the water so that it washed down his back and over his shoulders.

“Are you warmer?” she asked.

He barely murmured, “Yes.”

“Just relax, okay? Everything’s all right.” She rubbed her hands over his skin, wiping off the blood.

He watched.

She drew water from the showerhead down over his chest. With gentle fingers, she unmatted his chest hair. Then she slid her hands over his neck. His skin grew warmer.

“Close your eyes,” she said. He did as she asked, and she used her fingertips to caress the dried blood from his face. Then she tilted his head back into the water and drew her fingers through his hair. His breathing was steady, quiet. The tenseness in his shoulders lessened.

“Everything’s all right,” she murmured.

He opened his eyes and looked down at her. His eyes seemed to be better focused. He tilted his chin and touched her cheek, wiped the blood off. Then he pulled his fingers slowly through her hair. She realized he had gotten blood there as well.

Then he held her face in both hands. “You’re all right.”

“I’m fine.”

He pulled her to his chest. His hand rested on her cheek and his cheek on her hair. His biceps tightened as he held on to her. “He said he was going to rape you, kill you.”

“He was lying.”

“They were holding you—five of them.”

Her hands on his back, she held on tightly, tried to offer him comfort. “He set up that scene to make you think I was in danger.” She didn’t mention that she’d gotten away from them easily, that she was frustrated Cullen didn’t trust her to be able to take care of herself.

He held her tighter and murmured against her hair. “Celisse.”

“I’m here. I’m fine.”

His breath seeped into her hair. “I need you.”
