Series Books. Love them or leave them? #coverreveal

12/26/2022

Picture
JD Robb's In Death series is over 50 books long and still going. Christine Feehan's Dark series has over 20 books. Elsa Winckler's Unexpected Love series is four amazing books, and today we see the cover for that fourth book.

I love series books. The characters feel like family and I can't wait to get back to their lives. With series books, it's easy to drop right back into the writing. It's also a great way to support an author you love.

ADORING STACEY is a cute read as Stacey tries her hardest to avoid being fixed up by the town matchmaker. But it's inevitable when her best friend's mother gets the idea in her head for a charity auction.

ADORING STACEY is now available for preorder and will release in ebook and print on January 25th. You won't want to miss this return to Elsa's fabulous Unexpected Love series.

Blurb:
Can he convince her that what’s between them is much more than just biology?

Stacey Lawrence is happily single even though the folks in Alisson, Montana seemed bent on getting her the last thing she wanted: a husband. And babies? The mere thought has her shuddering, and that is not because of the cold Montana winters. If she can now only stay away from the very sexy ex-FBI agent turned self-defense instructor, Jason Coleman until her dopamine and norepinephrine levels have settled, she’ll be able to continue her happy single life as the computer whizz in town. But when Eleanor Johnson needs Stacey’s help with the upcoming bachelor auction, avoiding Jason becomes a problem. Turns out, he’s going to be one of the bachelors.

Since the moment his eyes met Stacey Lawrence’s gorgeous blue ones in one of his self-defense classes, Jason knows she’s trouble. He likes women but he’s not interested in anything more permanent than a few dates. Avoiding her isn’t initially a problem. Turns out, the lady is also trying to avoid him. But when he’s roped in to take part in the ridiculous bachelor’s auction, he ends up spending more time with the elusive Stacey until he forgets why he wanted to avoid her in the first place.

Too old to play games, Jason suggests they spend time together but Stacey seems convinced that they’re attraction is just biology. Is she right or are his feelings for the redhead much more than a mere chemical reaction?

This matchmaker romance brings to mind the contemporary romances of RS Lively and Rosalind James and will have you chuckling along with Stacey and Jason’s avoidance antics. Love and Marriage is booming in Alisson, Montana. Come along for the ride!

About the Author:
Elsa has been reading love stories for as long as she can remember and when she ‘met’ the classic authors like Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, Henry James The Brontë sisters, etc. during her Honors studies, she was hooked for life.
She married her college boyfriend and they are fortunate to live in the picturesque little seaside village of Betty's Bay, South Africa.

She adores writing kissing books with strong, beautiful, feisty, independent and headstrong heroines and dashing Alpha heroes who loves fiercely and protects the ones they love. Her stories typically incorporate the family background of the characters to better understand where they come from and who they are when we meet them in the story.

Coming Home.... #newrelease #newromcom

12/19/2022

Picture
If you watch the Hallmark Holiday Movies, you will find that the heroine often returns to her hometown where she finds love. But going home again is filled with more than a chance to win a guy's heart. It's filled with angst.

Your hometown is the place where you grew up and probably made most of your mistakes, whether it was skipping school or speeding. Everyone knows you and remembers all the things you've done. Your neighbors are your elementary school teacher, your high school bestie, or your brothers and sisters. These people have long memories.

I loved how the heroine's hometown played a big part in Libby Kay's romance- FALLING HOME. The town of Buckeye Falls reminded me of my own hometown and not just because they are both in Ohio. FALLING HOME is the first in a wonderful series which are set in Buckeye Falls and so you will always be able to go back to this small town.

Blurb:
Welcome to Buckeye Falls, Ohio!
‘Tis the Season for Second Chances…And this couple is going to need a Christmas Miracle!

When New York transplant Ginny Meyer returns to her small hometown to help her father recover from surgery, she isn’t looking for any complications. No Christmas caroling, no cookie decorating, and certainly no time spent with her ex-husband, Max. The trouble is, she’s looped into helping with the Christmas Jubilee—and a certain ex is her planning partner. Now all her plans to avoid Max disappear in a puff of tinsel. But she can resist his charms, right?

Max Sanchez has three great loves in his life—his diner, Christmas, and his ex-wife. He’s spent two years missing the woman who broke his heart and left town, and he’ll use any excuse to spend time with her. Max hopes some holiday cheer, and his famous cheese enchiladas, can help them find their way back together. Buckeye Falls hasn’t felt the same since Ginny left, and Max can tell she’s warming to the idea of staying in town. Now if only he could get her to stay with him…

With a little help from the residents of Buckeye Falls, this Christmas is bringing more than presents under the tree.

Author Libby Kay’s books are perfect for fans of Kristan Higgins’ second chance romances or Sharon Sala’s smalltown romances. Readers will fall in love with Buckeye Falls, Ohio and the townspeople as they embrace the holiday season.  Slip in to this enchanting smalltown and stay awhile! You might just fall in love…

EXCERPT:

Ginny paced through the house that night. Sleep was not an option, as she had too many competing thoughts vying for space in her muddled brain. She did laundry, triple-checked that her father’s overnight bag was packed, scoured the stovetop, and gathered more firewood from the shed. She did anything to keep busy, anything to stop thinking about her father’s surgery … and how excited she was to see Max in a few hours.

She was also pretending that she wasn’t thinking about his lips, or the fact that she desperately wanted to taste them. God, why had she fangirled over her ex-husband like that? And why couldn’t she stop thinking about how soft his flannel shirt felt on her fingers, or how safe and protected she felt in his embrace? Get a grip, Ginny!

During times like these, stressful times when uncertainty clouded around her, Ginny gravitated toward the kitchen. Whether over a cup of coffee or a meal, she liked to center herself in the warm space. There was something about being surrounded by happy memories and familiar scents that slowed her racing heart.

But for all the happy memories in this kitchen, there were a couple that tore her up inside. One of these memories Ginny kept hidden away because it was too much to even speak about. On a morning like this one, when no one was awake and the house was still, Ginny had watched her mother leave.

Going to Camp- fun or not? #coverreveal

12/16/2022

Picture
I've been to camp twice. Once as a girl scout and once as a teacher. I have to admit that being a teacher at camp was more fun than being a scout. But it could have been because of the facilities as well. As a scout, we stayed in tents and used outhouses. As a teacher, we went to a big camp and I stayed in a dorm. There was a lunchroom, showers, and even an indoor swimming pool.

Author Susan V. Vaughn has a camp as a setting in her latest romance, CRAZY FOR YOU. And while the characters sleep in cabins, they have many more restrictions than either of my camping experiences had. CRAZY FOR YOU touches on the idea of Internet Addiction and a heroine who can't let go of her phone. Of course in this opposites attract romance, her hero is one of the camp counselors and as different as she was. You'll love this amazing rom-com with funny antics and swoon-worthy romance. It releases on Jan 17th but you won't want to miss it!! Preorder today!!

Blurb:
“Instagram Ready” takes on a new meaning in the middle of the woods with no internet. Can Georgia survive the terror of a world without her phone?

Georgia Atwood had everything a twenty-four-year-old could want. A handsome boyfriend practically ready to marry her. A YouTube channel with enough viewers to quit her job at Starbucks. So many good selfies on her phone she needed a new memory card. What else could a girl ask for? How about a million-dollar inheritance from her grandmother with one little catch…

Internet rehab???

The only thing standing between Georgia and money was the successful completion of a sixty-day rehabilitation program for internet addiction. All she had to do was survive for three months in the middle of the woods without her tablet or phone. Internet rehab seemed a small price to pay to get her grandmother’s inheritance.

No internet???

Wait. Back up. Delete. Living without her followers and phone seemed easy. But that was before she met Victor, the dashing camp counselor determined to steal her heart. He has her hiking and admiring the night sky rather than the latest celebrity sighting, and sends her into a tailspin. Insert some new friends and an elaborate plan to liberate their phones, and Georgia risks losing more than the money…She just might lose her heart and find what is really important.

If you love your romance filled with comedy, you’ll love CRAZY FOR YOU. With a hint of Sophie Ranald’s Rom Coms and Lucy Score’s Comedic Romances, Susan V. Vaughn has hit the right note in CRAZY FOR YOU.

Love the Gilded Age?? The Ghost in Her is for YOU!

12/12/2022

Picture
Do you love Christina Skye’s Draycott Abbey series? Are you a fan of historical romances set in the early 1900's? THE GHOST IN HER is centered around a young woman who is living on the street. She's alone and caring for her sister's kid when the baby gets stolen. Maggie gets some help from ghosts in trying to find her nephew, but in exposing that she speaks to ghosts, she is considered crazy.

This engaging story will pull at your heartstrings as Maggie faces a difficult journey that will push her to the end of her rope. Grab a copy of THE GHOST IN HER in ebook or print when it releases on Jan. 3rd. This is a story that will keep you reading into the night!

Blurb:
Seeing ghosts is literally in her blood.

Life is hard enough without having to deal with ghosts following you around every day. Maggie O’Connor wishes that she did not have psychic gifts but coming from a long line of Irish female seers, she never had a choice.

Faced with having to care for her departed sister’s orphaned baby, Maggie struggles to pay the rent while working for pennies at a local Bowery sweatshop. Her life goes from bad to worse when a wicked neighbor steals the baby.

Things look up when the handsome son of Maggie’s employer falls for her. Gershom understands that having psychic gifts does not necessarily make a woman crazy. If only the local judge agreed. When Maggie ends up at the New York City Lunatic Asylum on Blackwell’s Island, she must find a way to escape and return to Gershom’s loving arms.

Will Maggie be stuck in a madhouse forever? Even if she escapes, can she and Gershom rescue the lost baby? The obstacles seem insurmountable, but anything is possible with the assistance of ghostly helpers and Andrew Carnegie, one of America’s richest men.

Fairy Tales can come true- but not without suffering.

Love the Gilded Age but want more magic? Grab a copy of THE GHOST IN HER, the first book in the new Ungilded series featuring magic among the Bowery Streets. THE GHOST IN HER is a perfect match for fans of Harper Lin’s Southern Sleuth Series or Christina Skye’s Draycott Abbey series.

“The first book of Anika Savoy’s Ungilded series, The Ghost in Her is a dark, immersive fairy tale, dusted with Gothic whimsy. It is a story for the romantic and the history buff, a rich page-turner that forces us to consider the ongoing social ills that, to this day, continue to haunt us.”—Bestselling author- Mike Robinson.

I Love a Good Cowboy #newrelease #sexycowboy

12/5/2022

Picture
If you know anything about me, Alligators are my favorite animals and I love Sexy Cowboys! Luckily for me, Isobel Reed features one in her latest release-LOVE TOOLS. And I'm even luckier because LOVE TOOLS is the first book in a new series.

Isobel Reed's cowboy acts like a burr under the heroine's saddle. Their sparring feels electric with a lot of sass and sizzle. The pages practically smoke! Lucky for you, the book is now available in ebook and print! You can have a copy on your ereader in minutes! You don't want to miss this amazing book!

pssst- there's a secret sneak peek in the back of the book at her second book- EXPIRY DATING, featuring a smoking hot sheriff.

Blurb:
What happens when the king of casual meets the queen of picking the wrong men?

Lily is running. From a dead-end job, a neurotic mother and all the losers she dared to date. Moving halfway across the world to Bluestone County seemed like a good idea at the time. So did reopening her estranged father’s hardware store. But now she isn’t so sure.

Small town living has its perks though. Wide-open space, clean air, and sexy cowboys. Well, one sexy cowboy. Jake. Who also just so happens to be the new bane of her existence. At least when he’s not talking, she can admire the view.

Jake is the king of casual. The love of his life has always been his ranch, and that was fine with him. He never really saw the point in long-term. But all that changes when a mouthy, blonde sasses him into oblivion. He should have known she’d be trouble as soon as he laid eyes on her. Now it’s too late. She’s all he can think about. All he has to do is convince her that he’s finally the right man.

Isobel Reed’s hilarious, emotionally charged romance will have you holding your side with laughter or reaching for a tissue. Reminiscent of small-town romance by Tessa Bailey or Kristen Ashley, you will fall in love with LOVE TOOLS and Isobel Reed’s unique writing style.

Excerpt:
Lily took the opportunity to scan his face and let her eyes wander down him. His broad shoulders filled out his check shirt that pulled tight across his muscled chest. She tried her hardest not to gawk as her gaze travelled down farther to his mud-stained denim jeans that moulded perfectly to tensed thighs.

Holy s***, he’s hot. Do all the men in Montana look like this?

“You about done checking me out, darlin’, or do you want me to turn around and show you the back?”

She felt her cheeks flame as her eyes flicked back up and she caught sight of his cocky grin. Before she could attempt to deny what she’d been doing, his expression turned more serious as he gave her a once-over. “I didn’t know Matt had a daughter.”

Surprise, surprise.

“No s***. He wasn’t exactly father of the year.”

Lily couldn’t help but think of the irony. Her father had become friends with some guy young enough to be his son, yet he still couldn’t quite be bothered to pick up the phone and call his own daughter.

Marlboro Man’s smile became crooked as his glare intensified. “You always swear like a trucker, darlin’? Here I thought English women were all class and manners.”

Is he being f***ing serious?

She let out a huff; she couldn’t believe the nerve of this guy. “I’m sorry, have I stepped into the past? Are you gonna ask me why a little woman like me isn’t married next?”

“All right, sweetheart, calm down.” He sniggered, clearly amused by the steam coming out of her ears.

Isobel was born and raised in London. She still lives along the River Thames with her husband and her substantial book collection. Ever the hopeless romantic, she fell in love with the genre from a young age and was inspired to write her own stories.
