Disease, lockdowns, danger. Sounds like last year. But CARRIER takes place in a dystopian world where a Y-Carrier disease forces women and girls into hiding for safety. But what is life like for one of those young girls? How does she handle when she meets a boy for the first time?

Author Vanessa Garden has written a compelling story about freedom and choices set amongst a backdrop very real to our world today. CARRIER is a dystopian romance showcasing first love and tough choices. You will want to preorder this book today!

Blurb:
From the day she was born, Lena has viewed the world through the jagged window of a razor-wired fence. The hundred-acre property she shares with her mother in the Australian outback may keep her safe from the Y-Carrier disease, but it is no longer enough to hold Lena’s interest, and her mother’s increasingly tight grip on her free will is stifling.

Just as her curiosity blooms and her courage rises, she meets a boy through the fence — the first boy she has ever laid eyes on. His name is Patrick and he comes with a dangerous yet irresistible invitation of adventure beyond the fence, an invitation to which Lena cannot say no.

But Lena’s newfound freedom is short-lived and she soon discovers that the Y-Carrier disease is not the only enemy she faces on the outside. Her new enemies want something Lena has, and they are willing to do anything to get it...

Carrier is a YA novel about freedom, choice and family – and the terrifying disease that makes them mutually exclusive.

Weddings?? Big Event or Quiet Escape?? #newromance #newrelease

8/23/2021

Picture
Growing up I dreamed about what my wedding would be like. Watching the glamorous affairs on Daytime TV, I modeled my dreams after those big events. I wanted the stunning white gown, the expensive food, and big ballroom dance floor. I could skip the catfight between bridesmaids or the back from the dead ex-wife determined to ruin my day.

Skip to reality and my wedding dreams weren't able to measure up to the empty wallet. I wore my grandmother's satin gown, had a small dinner at the local VFW hall and escaped the drama of fights or ex's. (Although someone bumped my cake table so I had the leaning tower of wedding cake.) That marriage lasted 20 years but I skipped all that for my second and escaped to Vegas.

Seriously, events are not what make the wedding. It's the commitment between the two people, in front of loved ones and God. Grea Warner understands that. Her story TAILS CALIFORNIA was set to begin with a big happy wedding. A huge event in Carolina, with flower girls and hundreds of guests. But sometimes fate gets in the way.

TAILS CALIFORNIA is an emotional rollercoaster for Bethany as she sets out to find what is important to her. It's a growth story. It's a love story. A journey. A romance.

Now available in Ebook and Print, TAILS CALIFORNIA is a perfect story to curl up on the couch with and settle in, experiencing all of Bethany's choices and fears. You won't be able to put it down.

Blurb:
The week was supposed to end with a white dress and promises. It didn’t. Instead there was a black hearse.

Bethany and Ryan’s dream day is marred by the unexpected news of someone close to them passing away. More than ever, they need to lean on each other to help get through this devastating loss. But it won’t be easy.

Grief has its own timeline and also has a unique way of assigning blame … warranted or not. Not only is Bethany struggling with her own emotions, but she feels helpless when it comes to her role in the family. Is Ryan pulling away? Are the kids acting differently? And why would a fantastic career opportunity cause such anger and stress?

Will their coin flip bring a happily ever after or a sad goodbye?

“Ms. Warner lures her readers in with such vivid imagery and authentic dialog, you will feel like you are a part of the story.” –Amazon reviewer.

EXCERPT:
And then he slowed and put his hands on my face, releasing our lips. “No, it wouldn’t be … I’ve had … too much.”

I knew he wasn’t talking about alcohol. He had been drinking but respectfully. It was something else. Trying to keep the tears behind them, I closed my eyes, regulated my breath, and took a mini step away.

“Okay.” I pulsed more than nodded my head.

“Bethany?”

“It’s okay,” I repeated, wanting to believe it myself but failing miserably, both internally and, I guess, externally, judging by his reaction.

His voice rose. “No, it’s not. It’s not okay. Nothing is okay.”

On the reality of his words, I felt the tears silently rolling down my face. I had really wanted to keep them at bay, but I couldn’t. His face, his disposition, his words, his rejection all saddened and worried me.

“Dang it!” That wasn’t helping my fears.

“Ryan …”

“I’m sorry. I’m tired, and it’s been a day, and … Bethany, I can’t right now. I can’t … I can’t … anything.”

I stared at him. He can’t anything? He can’t love me? Right then, he couldn’t even look at me. Yet, despite the sting and the hurt, I wanted to help him. But I didn’t know how.

Closing Out a Series... #new_release #hot_romance

When you have found an amazing author, you hope that they write and write. You count down the days until their next story releases. But what happens when they finish a series?

COME WITH ME is the last book in the Baxter Boys series by Mindy McKinley. This story was worth the wait! We finally get Ben's story, the one which has been hinting at for the three previous books. Sexy, brooding Ben. The Artist. The one so different than his brothers.

Blurb:
On her last chance to prove herself at her mother’s publishing company, Kat Dunne is given the job no one wants – handling their most impossible client. Assigned to tag along with a writer on his upcoming North American tour, she quickly finds why no one else wanted the job. Ben Baxter is grumpy, awkward, and downright mean. He’s also the hottest man she’s ever laid eyes on and as his walls start to crumble, so does her resolve to remain professional, and her chance to keep her job.

Broody and irritable graphic novelist, Ben Baxter doesn’t want to go on a book signing tour and sure as hell doesn’t want a company chick tagging along. Especially one that lights a fire in him every time he looks at her. He can see right through Kat Dunne and the lie she’s trapped in. She no more belongs in the business world than he does in a designer suit and if it’s the last thing he ever does, he’ll prove to her dreams are worth following. Even if it costs him his publishing contract.

EXCERPT:
“Okay, so, I’m sure you know why we’re meeting today. Dunne Publishing has paired us up to—”

“You’re my handler,” he interrupted, sitting back in his chair. Whatever little bubble of niceness they had been in for a moment disintegrated around them. “Let’s call it what it is.”

Her eyes flashed briefly before she straightened her shoulders and gave him a hard look. “If that’s what you want to call it, it’s fine by me. The company prefers to call it …”

“Damage control?” He knew he was being a prick, but this whole thing stunk. He was an adult. So what if he didn’t want to fawn over fans everywhere all the time? They were his stories, not theirs.

“Like I said …” Her voice took on a commanding tone. “You can call it whatever you like. The fact of the matter is, you’re a brilliant creator.” He straightened and gave her a tight, superior smile before she continued. “But you are a shitty communicator and an even worse curator of your work and image.”

That smile slid right off his face. He hadn’t expected her to come out and say it so matter-of-factly. He appreciated her frankness, even if it stung. “Not pulling any punches, then, I see.”

“I don’t see why I should.” She stared him down with a stern look. “If you’re not.”

“Fair enough.”

“Good, now that that’s out of the way”—she pushed a single piece of paper across the table at him—“this is the explicit list of behavior expectations that Dunne Publishing has outlined for this North American tour. I’m going to be there to make sure you adhere to them.”

“Or what?” he asked, immediately regretting it.

“Mr. Baxter …” She lowered her voice to a dangerous pitch. “Your contract is due to expire soon and Dunne is willing to go the distance for you, but only if you can clean up your public image. Your current contract and all of your work could be tied up in litigation for years. You could potentially lose out on decades of earnings, and while that might not be on the top of your priority list, I’m sure you’d like to continue Dimension Runners.”

Well, shit.

What will you do after reading Ben's story? How about re-read the rest of the Baxter Boys series or gobble up Mindy's other books!

Summertime in Michigan #new_release

8/9/2021

Picture
Michigan is beautiful in the summertime. The leaves are green, flowers are blooming and the temperature is still mild with only occasional days in the high 80's. Best of all, it has miles and miles of glorious shoreline. A state which borders most of the Great Lakes, water sports are a popular past time.

People own cottages along the lakes and take off for long weekends or vacations. One of these perfect summer trips is the backdrop for STEALING HAVEN- a Jamie Richmond Mystery.

Even amateur sleuths must get away from the crime of the city and Jamie has set off for the west side of the state for a vacation with her good friend. South Haven, Michigan is a beach town with great food and quaint shops. Just the place to enjoy some sunshine and even a few drinks.... but you have to know Jamie can't help getting her nose into a local burglary.

Blurb:
After months of hard work, Jamie and her best friend, Linda, are on vacation. Lounging on the sandy beaches of South Haven, on the shore of Lake Michigan, the ladies only plan is no plan. No deadlines for Jamie, the investigative reporter. No papers to grade for Linda, the high school teacher. It’s time to kick back and relax.

That lasted until lunchtime on Monday, when they shared a table with Jared, a local cop and Randy, a city official who only had eyes for Jamie. Casual conversation revealed a home invasion, which got Jamie’s curiosity going.

While the two friends explore South Haven, Jamie discovered a pattern with the home invasions. Sharing her clues with Jared, it isn’t long before Jamie and Linda are recruited to help catch the crooks.

Sand, sun, romance and a mystery to solve. Sounds like a perfect vacation for Jamie.

EXCERPT:
“Jamie, what are we doing?”

“I’m curious. That’s two nights in a row where we’ve seen someone running in the dark. Maybe there is something going on.”

“Why are you looking for trouble? We’re on vacation. Is this a way of diverting my attention from your misbehavior?” A wicked grin flashed across her face.

Ignoring her, I stood at the back of the house. The footprints were still visible in the yard. Randy had been right. There were no signs of activity near the building. But if they were running away from here, where did they come from? I turned around and faced the street, following the diagonal path. I could imagine someone racing between the two houses on the opposite side of the road. Curiosity got the better of me. We walked in that direction. Both houses were dark with no signs of life. I went between them to the backyards.

“Jamie, let’s go. The beach is waiting. Sun, sand, muscular lifeguards with tiny swimsuits could be looking for us even as we’re standing here.”

“There are no lifeguards on our part of the beach.”

“Maybe they’re on vacation, too.”

I was about to give up when something caught my eye. The back door to the house on the left, a quaint little cottage, was pried open. There were several gouges in the wood. Peeking through the window, I could see into the kitchen. The cupboard doors were ajar. Linda stood silently beside me for a moment. Then she moved around the corner. She returned, shaking her head in dismay.

Celebrity Gossip Managed #Coverreveal

I admit to glancing at the magazines at the grocery store checkout. Some are purely crazy with Alien-Wolfman babies but the ones which feature my favorite actors or stars draw my eyes. I see that this couple is having a baby, another got engaged or...gasp! They broke up.

Sometimes it's the paparazzi chasing after the people to find the news but other times, the press is given a story by the publicists, or even given a story about a competing celebrity.

Celia Mulder's latest book- BACK ON TOP chronicles the tales of a family of spin doctors, the publicists who spin the news to make their clients come out on top. BACK ON TOP is the third and final book about this amazing family who have dealt with some zany scandals... even if you hadn't heard about them (they are that good!).

Preorder your copy of BACK ON TOP today and you'll be so excited when it arrives on your ereader on Sept 7th, you'll be reading throughout the night!

Blurb:
What Happens in Hollywood…has repercussions everywhere!

Lucille Anton, Celebrity Spin Doctor, has returned to run her empire. But when her obnoxiously sexy new coworker Noah takes on a client she promised never to work with, cracks threaten to form. Neither of them will back down and, when fighting turns to kissing, they find they’ve met their match.

Brett Jacobs has done it. He’s run away with the love of his life and is determined to be blissfully happy, despite himself. It’s not only his self-destructive tendencies standing in his way, however. He has actual enemies staying on the resort island. Enemies who are equally determined to destroy all he holds dear.

From rooftop retrieval missions to unexpected hiking adventures, the spin doctors are tested at every turn. New friendships are forged, old nemeses resurface, and Brett’s estranged siblings won’t leave anyone alone. With tensions running high and reputations on the line, Lucille will have to use every trick she knows to get them out alive.

The final book in the Celebrity Spin Doctor series will have you reaching for those magazines at the registers with a new appreciation.
