Sisters...a complicated relationship #coverreveal

10/25/2021

Picture
Having grown up with four younger sisters, I understand the complicated relationship between them. I never had to search to find someone to play with. There was always one or more of my sisters who gladly headed off into the woods with me to play Charlie's Angels or whisper stories at bedtime. But as much as they were my closest friends, they were also my bitterest enemies. Whether it was the "borrowing" of items without asking or spilling secrets to Mom and Dad, my sisters complicated my life.

Author Catherine Peace has written an amazing series about three sisters who dealt with the destruction of their community and must find a way to survive. Her romance features a compelling story and engaging characters. A must read for fans of paranormal romance and shifters! Now available for preorder, EMBER'S SECRET is the first in the trilogy.

Blurb:
Ember Ngata only wants two things out of life: to be reunited with her sisters, and to see people return to her café. Catering to people she never sees again, she experiences a loneliness that can’t be filled. As one of the last Whakamanu—a descendant of the Maori bird-god Tane—she holds on to the secrets of her decimated tribe. Family first.

TV personality and host of the popular show Back Road Eats, Austin Garten needs more in his life than Breadbasket America grilling. He’s tired of the safe routes and the easy and dependable foods his network loves to display. When his RV breaks down in Wyoming, and he learns about Kai, a Maori restaurant outside of Casper, his interest is piqued. Once Austin meets the proprietor, he wants more than just her food. He wants her.

The Solstice, the Maori New Year, is fast approaching, and with the heat in her kitchen ratcheting up, Ember realizes she can’t keep her secret for much longer. But will Austin be able to accept her? Or will her secret drive them apart?

Do You Believe in Angels? #newmiddlegradelit

10/25/2021

Picture
Do you believe in angels?? Do you think that we have someone who watches over us? I've seen too many things to dismiss this as a fantasy. Miracles have happened and it's given me the understanding that there is a higher force out there.

But what if those angels could be young girls? Author Phyllis Cherry has created a world where angels walk among the humans and help them. Her book is perfect for fans of Hatchet or Ghost Cadet. Now available in ebook and print, be sure to get a copy for the perfect Christmas gift.

Blurb:
Halo’s life changed the day she flew up to study with the angel academy. Now she has wings of her own, and so does Midas, the big golden dog and her best friend. They are ready for their first real mission--a dangerous one that could cost them everything.

Arriving at Camp Esther, Halo and Midas become the target of a killer after helping an injured man. But they are determined to fulfill their mission, even if they are not sure what it is.  Could it be helping Marie, a lonely teenager confined to a wheelchair?

Marie’s dreams often come true and foreshadow the danger surrounding Halo and Midas. Things are further complicated when Halo questions the sincerity of Marie’s new crush. Could he be the person who hurt Midas? Halo doesn’t know who to trust.

At the camp, accidents, sabotage, and death threats happen, and everything points to the new girl and her dog. Someone wants them to fail their mission and will kill to get rid of Halo and Midas. Will they survive return to White Feathers Academy as failures, or will this mission cost them their lives?

EXCERPT:
“Are you a ghost?” she whispered with a wicked smile.

“Are you kidding? I am standing here in front of you, talking to you. Do ghosts follow you around?” Our conversation was getting out of hand.

She lowered her voice as if hoping no one was around to hear. “Because I see ghosts sometimes. They have a light around them, and you have a light around you, and so does Midas. Sometimes I see things before they happen.” She stopped talking long enough to look directly into my eyes. “You don’t believe me. I bet you think I’m silly, don’t you? Well, don’t worry. You don’t have to be my friend.” She turned her chair to roll away.

“Marie, I would like to be your friend. I don’t have friends my age, either, but listen to me, you cannot go around starting rumors about ghosts if you want to make friends.” She looked so unhappy, I felt mean all over again, but she needed to know it was bad to start rumors about other people.

Strong Female Characters Make the Story Amazing #newrelease

10/18/2021

Picture
Eve Dallas, Anita Blake... these names immediately connect you to the heroines in some kick butt stories. These women are  detectives and fighters. They aren't only there for a male's needs. They are the leaders and heroes in their own rights.

Julia Jones has written a story with a strong female lead. Danika has the strength and determination to take on a werewolf serial killer but don't ask her to talk about her feelings.

Available now A WOLF TO CATCH is a fast paced read which is perfect for a Halloween night!

Blurb:
What happens when Supernatural meets Criminal Minds?
Now that the paranormal have come out of the closet, there’s a new side to law enforcement. One designed to take care of the things that go Bump in the night.

Danika and her friends know all about fangs, furry and dangerous. They know that sometimes you need backup to make sure no one else gets killed. So when a friend calls Danika in on a case, she’s quick to help, but the second she enters her friend's living room she meets Logan, a sexy werewolf who makes her second-guess her policy about dating colleges.

There’s no time for romance when a young girl is kidnapped by the murderer. They must find him before he kills, and make sure everyone gets out alive.

EXCERPT:
Danika’s body ached in the kind of way that made her feel alive. The kind of way that made her smile, not the kind where she’d just been beaten up by a vampire, werewolf, ghoul, rogue warlock, or other paranormally abled criminal that she had been tasked to find. With her brass-knuckle mug in hand, containing steaming hot chocolate, she padded into the living room and dropped down onto the hardwood floor.

Being one of a handful of paranormal profilers, the newest members of a just-formed FBI task force, kept Danika busy. The team, and the FBI, were still working out the kinks, learning to navigate the realities of the paranormal world. Just like you could come up with a profile for regular human serial killers to help catch them, you could do that for those who also had paranormal attributes. And that was Danika’s job.

She placed the cup beside her and reached into the cabinet of the coffee table, then pulled out her favorite deck, the one she had received two decades ago, when she was thirteen. Her last job had been three days before, profiling and tracking a warlock that had been breaking into and entering the homes of influencers in the Bay Area, and livestreaming the whole thing, including the actual murder. It had been a nasty bit of business trying to track it, but she’d ended up with an arrest—and the urge to never post a selfie online, ever again.

Since that job had finished, she’d spent the time acting like a grown-up and dealing with the responsibilities of life. And now, today was going to be all about fun. A morning for readings, a little journaling, and the afternoon with mom. After that, mandated therapy.

The FBI was still tentative about Paranormal Profiling, and they were taking steps to ensure that it went as smoothly as possible, which included therapy.

Danika dropped down onto the couch and took several deep breaths, connecting with the oracle cards in her hands.

Opposites Attract #coverreveal #IndiaRomance

10/13/2021

Picture
Hot and cold, day and night, bland and spicy. Opposites. We love to categorize things and assign them roles. But much like magnets, there is something about the attraction of opposites. A popular take out nearby puts hot sauce with ice cream. Sweet and Spicy! I'm not sure that it works for me but as readers we love a story about two people who are so very different that they end up complimenting each other. They give the person a little of what they are missing.

Pamela Q. Fernandes' latest book, WHERE WE COME FROM is such a story. Her heroine and hero are very different at first glance but they have more in common than they think.

Now available for preorder WHERE WE COME FROM is a sweeping tale of life in rural India, on a farm where two people must work together to overcome hardships and create a life.

Blurb:
Where We Come From is a gripping, emotional tale that deals with love in small towns and the harsh realities of an Indian farmers’ life. It raises the question of how where we come from affects the way we love others.

After having his future crushed by an ex, who betrayed him and walked away, Surya Atwal places an ad for a bride, a woman who shares his dreams for a home and family. This time he won’t let his heart make the decision. He’ll do it on his own terms without risking his legacy.

Ashtami Sial, a no nonsense Delhi girl with a sassy attitude, matches her bangles with her churidars. She’s not afraid of hard work but refuses to be simply a brood mare to a dour husband. She's determined to build a family with love and will do anything to achieve it. Even herding her husband with the cattle, and building the village herself.

Life in Rori, a rural village in Haryana where the only neighbors are cattle and chickens, takes hard work and a little luck. Surya and Ashtami butt heads as the harsh realities of farming life threatens their home and livelihood. But the shadow of the woman who ripped out Surya’s heart looms over their marriage and might cost him more than he bargained for. Can Surya risk his heart with someone new and leave his past behind? Or will he lose the one person who fell in love with him at first sight?

Tina’s an Amazon and international bestselling novelist who writes passionate romance for every taste – ‘heat with heart’ – for traditional publishers and indie. Booklist, Publisher’s Weekly, Romantic Times and numerous online sites have praised her work. She’s won Readers’ Choice Awards, was named a finalist in the EPIC competition, received a Book of the Year award, The Golden Nib Award, awards of merit in the RWA Holt Medallion competitions, and second place in the NEC RWA contests. She’s featured in the Novel & Short Story Writer’s Market. Before penning romances, she worked at a major Hollywood production company in Story Direction.

On a less serious note: she’s an admitted and unrepentant chocoholic, brakes for Mexican restaurants, and has been known to moan like Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally while wolfing down tostadas. She’s flown a single-engine airplane (freaking scary), rewired an old house using an ‘electricity for dummies’ book, and is horribly shy despite the hot romances she writes.

Destination Wedding Mishap?? #CoverReveal

10/7/2021

Picture
Destination weddings are a fun time. My sister was married on a cliff in Hawaii and I was married in Vegas. Whether you have Elvis sharing your spotlight or a beautiful sunset, destination weddings are a great way to combine the honeymoon and the wedding. It also allows you to limit the excessive family drama. :)

In KJ Holliday's Executive Assistant, a destination wedding is the backdrop for an enemies to lover RomCom. A follow up to Chief Executive Officer, we are back for the big wedding of Caroline and Colton. Sparks fly and zaniness ensues.

Blurb:
What happens when the Best Man is actually the Worst?

Katherine Pearson didn’t believe in love. Not really. Not after the childhood she had. However, she’d forever support her best friend Caroline by agreeing to be the Maid of Honor. It was unfortunate that the Best Man happened to be Eric Bowman, Colton’s stiff lipped, strait-laced, and incredibly sexy older brother. The very same man Katherine happened to have had an almost one-night stand with a year earlier.

Eric is the exact opposite of Kat in every way shape and form. It will take a miracle for either of them to make it through the weeklong destination-wedding extravaganza without throttling one another. So why does Katherine elect herself as Eric’s champion when she overhears his ex-wife conspiring against him?

In less than 24 hours, the man she swore she’d forever despise became her best man, her fake fiancé, and a royal pain in her neck. Katherine needed to prepare herself, because she was about to endure the destination wedding from hell.

Love a Good Ghost Story? #newrelease #newromance #YAparanormal

10/4/2021

Picture
October is the perfect time for ghost story. The Halloween holiday, pumpkins and skeletons decorating the homes. But what I love more than a good ghost story is a ghostly romance.

Annie Grace Roberts has written a sweet tale of a young girl who finds first love in the most unexpected way. She's off to England for her mother's new wedding and gets embroiled in a mystery, and begins dreaming of a ghost. A hunky ghost!

Blurb:
Lily Deene has a new dream guy. There’s just one small problem. He’s dead.

Seventeen-year-old Lily Deene has no choice but to spend her summer at Brynmoor Manor in England where there are more sheep than people. She isn’t thrilled, but after her mother enlists Simon, the housekeeper’s son, to give her horseback riding lessons, Lily decides to make the best of a bad situation. It turns out that it’s not all tea and crumpets at the manor house. Long buried secrets are stirring. Secrets that are haunting her dreams and Lily quickly finds herself galloping straight into danger.

EXCERPT:
As my eyes adjusted, I could see the vague outline of something lying on the ground. I struggled to make out what it was. At first, I thought a tree had fallen or been cut and left in the middle of the pasture. I stared at the shape, trying to figure out why it was there.

Suddenly, I felt my blood drain away in fear. I opened my mouth to scream, but there was no sound. My breath caught in my throat. It wasn’t a log at all! It was the body of a man! I stared in horror at the still figure lying on the ground.

I stood unable to move for several seconds. His body lay so still. I was afraid he might be dead. I forced my shaking legs to move forward. As I did so I became aware that I was not alone. I could sense the presence of someone else nearby, hidden in the mist.

“Whose there?” I called out, my voice trembling with fear.

Silence. I stood still and tilted my head, listening. The hair on the back of my neck prickled. I heard a sound and whipped around frantically trying to locate the origin of the noise. A flash of movement caught my eye and I watched as a ghostly apparition disappeared into the mist.
