Can’t Buy Me Love
In Ebook and Print!

Seven romantic tales of love where royalty, celebrities, and passion meet. A case of mistaken identity, protecting the one you love, or proving you aren’t all about the money...these tales will entice and thrill.

A Royal Pain by Abigail Drake
Getting shot in the bottom saving a visiting royal turns out to be the best thing to happen to, impoverished socialite, Chloe Burkhart in a long time, especially when the prince’s very handsome, very sexy bodyguard, Nicolai, comes to her aid.

EXCERPT:
“Thank you, Nico. For tonight. It meant more than I can ever express…”

My words were cut off when his lips met mine in the sweetest and softest kiss I’d ever imagined. How could someone as big and strong and hard as Nico kiss like this? He made me feel as delicate as the porcelain plates from Grandpa Burkhart, and as valuable.

His large hands cupped my face as the kiss deepened. I covered his hands with mine, stretching on my tiptoes to get closer to him. We broke apart when Ella closed a door from somewhere inside the apartment and called out my name.
“Sissy. Do you know where my new socks are?”

I’d finally gotten her a new uniform, socks and all, and she was setting it out to wear to school tomorrow. “I’ll be right there,” I called out. Nico still stroked my face with his fingers, his eyes on mine. The man was positively hypnotic. He should come with a warning label, Don’t drive or operate heavy machinery after kissing Nicolai Mercia. It could be dangerous.

“Good night, Chloe,” he said, giving me one last brief kiss. “Sleep well.”

Caught by Him by Tammy Mannersly
Blockbuster movie actor, Brody Nash doesn’t quite know what to make of the gorgeous woman precariously perched on his neighbor’s gate, but as they start to get to know each other better, he begins to wonder if she might just be the one for him.

EXCERPT:
Even though the Jaguar didn’t stop, Brody took note of Carmody’s look of distaste before she sped away.

“Morning.” He smiled his biggest grin at Willa.

Willa ran the last few steps onto his driveway and then slowed her pace to a walk. “Guess the maid service has come and gone.” She offered him a smirk as she tilted her head in the direction of the convertible.

Brody chuckled and then opened his mouth to correct her, but she quickly cut him off.
“Sorry. Girlfriend.” She propped her hands on her hips. “I should’ve realized. It makes sense a guy like you would be taken.”

Intrigued, his gaze narrowed on hers. “A guy like me? What does that mean?”

“You know,” she began to explain matter-of-factly with a nod in his direction, “a guy who cleans his own pool and uses the same pool-cleaning gizmo to protect the neighborhood.”

“Oh, that kind of guy.” He laughed. “You make me sound a B-squad superhero.”

She raised her blonde eyebrows as though agreeing with his suggestion and then shrugged. “If the B-squad superhero costume fits…”

Brody laughed again, before offering her a more serious expression. “She’s not my girlfriend.”

Romancing the Princess by Bridie Hall
A commoner, Sebastian, and Princess Alixandra are set to get married until he begins to wonder if fitting in with royalty is worth sacrificing his principles. Love rules all. Or does it?

EXCERPT:
Usually, he left before the morning shed light on the consequences of his actions. This time, his insides squeezed at the thought he’d never get to wake up next to Alix again. It wasn’t fair.

“It’s been …” Alix glanced at him and then dropped her gaze. “Well, I need to go through the customs. Boarding will start in half an hour.” Her voice was croaky. It pained him that he couldn’t tell whether from fatigue or emotion.

She leaned into him, soft and supple, and it took his breath away. His arms came around her reflexively. Her bed hair was a stark reminder of what they’d been doing minutes before calling a taxi to take them to the airport.

“This was real, right? I didn’t just dream it?” Seb said.

He couldn’t quite catch what she murmured into his chest.

“I’ll miss you,” he blurted.

She looked up, opening her mouth, but then she pressed her lips together and dropped her gaze to his chest. He forced her face up with his finger under her chin. He kissed her forehead, her cheek and eyelids, her chin and lips, and felt the bitter taste of goodbye intruding on their intimacy.

His mouth on hers seemed to have unlocked something in her because she finally whispered, “I’ll miss you, too.”

When she stepped away, he reached to push a strand of her hair from her face, but her eyes—miserable and dark—flitted to his for a second and then she was gone, walking away from him, and then running, her purse swaying from her shoulder behind her.

All My Memories by Grea Warner
The possibility of reconnecting with an unrequited love leads country music star Finn Murphy on a journey of memories in this special prequel to the Country Roads series.

EXCERPT:
“Ugh—the light. Why is it so bright?” I squinted my eyes and threw my forearm across them.

I felt like I was in a vacuum. There was a low buzzing sound in my ears. No, it was more like my head.

When I finally adjusted to my surroundings, I realized I was in my bed. The sheets were tousled and thrown. The pillows laid haphazardly on the floor. I could hear some of my fraternity brothers talking in the nearby lounge. I could tell it was probably closer to mid-day than morning by the slightest ray of light that beamed a little too brightly through the crack in the window’s drapes. My stomach swished a little. And then I remembered. I remembered the night before.

“Oh, geez. Oh, God. Lara,” I mumbled to myself.

What had I been thinking?

Me and Tillie by Lisa Hahn
1950s musical film star Oren Cooper returns to Broadway to find new inspiration. Unexpectedly, that inspiration comes in the form of Tillie Parker—his childhood friend’s little sister and an up-and-coming ingénue.

EXCERPT:
“I’d like a glass of champagne and a whiskey sour.” With two fingers, he waved the bartender to lean closer. When the other man complied, Oren inconspicuously slipped him a five-dollar bill. “Dress a ginger ale up like a whiskey sour. Orange, cherry, the works.”

The bartender tucked the money into his pocket and nodded. “A champagne and a whiskey sour, coming right up.”

Oren leaned on the bar and looked back to Tillie. He’d nearly stumbled earlier when he first saw her in that dress. The vibrant red satin brought out the creaminess of her pale complexion, stunning him with her flawlessness. Her blonde hair had been swept off her face to reveal the round cheekbones, upturned nose, and bow-shaped lips of a starlet.

Oren scrubbed a hand over his face and turned back to the bar. God, he wanted her. But bringing her up to his room would be a bad idea. All her bright-eyed optimism would be wasted for a frivolous one-night affair. If he could give her more, he would. He knew he would. But not now. Not when he felt so broken.

Defending Demma by Melissa Kay Clarke
When faced with an unsavory past, can Demma St. John, rising new starlet, trust ex-Marine Ryker "Digger" McMillan with her secrets and her heart?

EXCERPT:
Several seconds passed as he fought to get his body under control. Finally, he blew out a breath and shook his head with a grin. “As much as I would love to spend all day showing you just how appreciative I am of your delectable body, we have things to do.” He motioned toward the tray. “Be a good girl, finish your breakfast, get your shower, and come in the computer room. I have something to show you.” “Or you can stay here, and I can show you something,” Demma cooed.

“Temptress.” Demma ran a finger down between her sheet-clad breasts and eyed him wantonly. “If I’m going to be labeled a temptress, I might as well embrace the role,” she purred throatily. She watched as his eyes widened and followed the slow journey of her fingers.

With a growl, he took a step back and shook his head. “Woman! What you do to me,” he gasped then closed his eyes.

After a moment, he opened them and grinned. “Later, you can show me just how well you play that role. But for now, we have things to do. I think I may have figured out who’s behind the blackmail.

His Royal Typeface by Stephanie Keyes
When all is lost, love can be found. Will Prince Asher Tarrington's unique font design be enough to salvage a royal family and set the tone for true love?

EXCERPT:
Jumping, Bailey gripped the railing and turned, sucking in a breath. It was him. Asher. The man who would one day be king. But also, Jenson. He was each and all of those things at once. His hair was close-cropped and golden, his eyes an unsettling shade of blue that burned straight into her soul.

“All this time we’ve been working together and I didn’t know who you were.” Her cheeks burned. “And I asked you to think royal. I bet you and your staff got a real charge out of that one.”

Some instinct kicked on inside Bailey. Locking her jaw, she managed a stiff curtsy. “Your Highness.”

“Bailey, please. Stop curtsying.” He waved her off and walked to the edge of his own balcony, a too-close neighbor of her own. He could have climbed from his balcony to hers if he wanted, without endangering himself in the slightest. “I didn’t laugh at you. I didn’t do this to get a rise out of you or make fun of you.”

“Then why did you? Why on Earth would a crown prince ever need a job?” She gestured to the gardens and the sea and all of the luxury that sat at Prince Asher’s feet.

“I have my reasons.” A worry line creased the bridge of his nose. If he was being sincere, Bailey was hardly one to judge. He seemed sincere, though. What would it hurt to give him a chance to explain himself?

One Door Closes...Bang Another Open #new_Release

10/23/2017

The old saying is "When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us." This is by Alexander Graham Bell, who knew something about drive and determination. However, sometimes... when one door closes... you have to make your own opening. This is the case for Chase in Never Fear the Reaper: The Bargaining, a new release by Ashley Pagano.

Chase has fallen in love with Ryder who has a weapon she made from a piece of the Grim Reapers' Scythe. They've worked together before but  now there's a third wheel- a Deputy who sets out to help them... but he's got to get one thing through Ryder's head....Love is what matters!  And Chase has to do that while keeping the Grim Reaper off their backs!
Picture
They say, when one door closes another one . . . lets out a whole, hell fire of demons. However this is just another day in the lives of Chase and Ryder.

For Ryder, death was only the beginning. But doing it over and over again can become a little redundant. The paranormal is the only thing she’s ever known, so adding a little romance to it, completely and totally throws her off.

For Chase he's focused on getting a hold of his powers while falling deeper in love with Ryder. As if finding true love isn't hard enough, hell has its way of trying to put their romance on hold. Then add in the handsome and composed, which is something that Chase is not, Deputy who joins their rag tag team.

Things instantly get a little bit chaotic and heated.

Excerpt:
When I hear voices coming from the bathroom I quietly tip toe back, in order to efficiently eaves drop. I position myself against the wall right outside the bathroom and place my head alongside of its door jam.  I enter the conversation at the perfect moment, just as Ryder is singing my praises.  Not that I deserve them at the moment.

"The thing I love most about Chase is that he challenges me.  I don't want someone that's going to go along with everything I say and do.  I don't like when it's too easy.  He's just trying to make me a better person and he's always trying to help me see the positives, even in this world of darkness."  She bites her lip as she nears the end of his wound.  Even to her surprise, his stitches are going rather smoothly.

"So you do love him?"

"Yes.  I thought you knew that."

"I just thought someone like me, may have had a shot with someone like you."  His hindered words slip out without any warning.  They even catch her off guard.  "I know I'm not a medium like he is or whatever you are, but I would treat you better.  You are beautiful, do you know that?  You deserve the best."  His words come out slurred and jumbled as a result of his ballsy drunken state.

"I'm flattered.  I really am.  But you don't see what goes on behind closed doors, when we're alone, and not in battle mode.  You'd be very surprised.  Plus no offense to yourself, but I don't date regular humans."  She laughs and continues to tie off the fishing wire.  She's putting the finishing touches on his stitches.

Meanwhile, my face is boiling hot, I'm flustered and livid.  I want to charge in and knock him off of the toilet, pummel him until there are new wounds to stitch up.  In this moment my mind is so far away from my body, off on its own violent rampage.

About the Author:
Ashley Pagano has always dreamed of being an artist both figuratively and literally. Her love of art was instilled by her mother who always inspired her to be creative either with a paintbrush or with a pen and paper. As far back as she can remember her life was always centered around introspection, storytelling, and imagination. Because she is so artistic, she took to the idea of creative writing very passionately. Her ability to describe a scene, person, or place, she compares to painting a picture, where she can describe every detail vividly in order to make the reader feel like they’re truly living in the story. Her works of writing usually center on a powerhouse female protagonist (which reflect her own personality), who progresses through many wild and extreme obstacles. Ashley loves to write stories that end with a cliffhanger, that have the reader begging for more and questioning what happens next. Her most recent novel sets the stage for the paranormal romance of the century and includes ghosts, poltergeists, and demons who just love to get in the way of true love. Ashley has won awards for her design, art, and writing.

Ashley doesn’t believe in down time whatsoever and actually loves having a full “To-Do” list. Ashley is a wife to her wonderful husband, Eric and a mother to a beautiful little baby girl named Dakota. She is also a Graphic Designer and a health and fitness coach. Her husband and daughter inspire her to be the best person she can be and encourage her to pursue any of her dreams (no matter how extravagant they may be).

Music to Fall In Love By.... #The_Nearness_Of_You #new_release

10/9/2017

Author KG Fletcher is an author by day but a lounge singer by night. She's currently featured in a music show about Elton John and is touring the United States. So you could say music is vital to her characters.

For The Nearness of You, she created a playlist for the couple. What a perfect way to enjoy the book, curled up with a glass of wine and some tunes on.

Lauren & David’s Playlist
The story of Lauren and David was heavily influenced by music from days gone by. These are a few of my favorite versions I hope you might check out – several of these songs are also featured in my cabaret act, “The Novel Romantic – an unexpected evening of sweet and spicy love.” (www.kgfletcherauthor.com/cabaret.html)

EXCERPT:
Lauren padded barefoot down the narrow hallway and stopped in the doorway of the shadowed living room. “Hello? David?”

There was no answer, and for a fleeting moment, she thought her roommate might be playing a joke on her. She took a few more steps into the large room and gasped when she saw him. He was slumped in a chair near the sofa, fast asleep with a red rose clutched in his hand.

She smiled and tiptoed near him. The light of the television accentuated his chiseled features and his long lashes made shadows across his famous cheeks. A faint outline of red lips colored his skin just above a five o’clock shadow, making her raise a curious eyebrow before she knelt beside him. Lauren couldn’t help but stare for several minutes. When she could no longer resist, she boldly brushed his dark hair from his forehead, making him stir. He exhaled noticeable whiskey breath and his eyes fluttered open, locking in on hers.

“Lauren…” he whispered, leaning his head back and smiling at her with bedroom eyes.

“What are you doing here?” she asked quietly, continuing to drink him in.

He seemed to remember the flower in his hand and held it out to her. “I came across this beautiful rose and thought you should have it.”

She took the flower and smelled it. “Thank you. That was very thoughtful.”

He continued to stare at her for several seconds. “You should probably know that I am thoroughly bladdered thanks to Brian Brady. My inhibitions are at an all-time low and there is no telling what I shall do next.” He paused licking his lips. “I’m so sorry for the lateness of the hour.” He slowly hoisted himself up into a sitting position and rested his elbows on his knees, rubbing the scruff on his face. “I’m an utter mess.”

Lauren giggled and sat back on her heels. He looked at her, one side of his mouth tugging upward into a smile. “I have to be completely honest,” he paused and swallowed. “I saw the rose and I just really wanted to kiss you again.”

“Oh? Is that right?” she teased.

“Yes. Absolutely, positively correct. May I?”

She scooted to where she was directly in front of him placing both hands on his knees tilting her face upward. “Yes,” she whispered confidently.

David gently put both of his hands on her cheeks and leaned down, positioning his mouth close to hers. She was lost in his penetrating, blue gaze. “Thank you, Lauren,” he whispered politely before closing his eyes and melding his lips with hers. His large hands slid into her hair, the kiss becoming passionate. His tongue circled hers, aromatic and spicy from the alcohol. Moaning in her mouth, he continued the kiss, pulling her up into a standing position, gripping her tightly at the small of her back, his fingers dangerously close to the edge of her t-shirt. He disengaged from their lip-lock and rested his forehead on hers, sighing.

“What are you doing to me?” His words were barely audible.

What Happens When An Author Gives The Heroine Her Own Headaches? #Review

10/6/2017

Angel of Mercy
A Disturbing/Dark Contemporary Romance
With a Happy Ending

Picture
Liza gives Carla her blinding migraines.
I remember a night when I left work late with a brutal migraine headache. I took the back roads home, thinking it would be safer than the major highway. And it was safer until I drove around a curve and got blasted with high-beams. It completely blinded me. I couldn’t see anything but dark gray mist. I braked and then crept toward the right, hoping this area of road had some side area. There are places where it just drops away. This was one of those ‘Jesus take the wheel moments.”
Once I heard gravel on the left side, I stopped, but left my car running with the brakes pressed, so anyone coming up behind me would hopefully see my car and not hit it.
It took me over a half-hour before I could see sufficiently for me to drive home. So, when Carla got a migraine, I gave her a nightmare even worse than mine.
Picture
BLURB
Carla Jones accidentally runs over and paralyzes a policeman. She ignores her lawyer's advice and pleads guilty to the charges, and accepts the judge’s ruling ‘that she broke him, now she has to fix him.’ Trying very hard to ignore his outrageous and frequently hateful behavior, she takes the handsome officer into her home and dedicates her life to one goal: making him walk again. She never imagines the twists and turns her life and heart will take the day she brings him home.

EXCERPT
Carla chose a back road that rarely had traffic and no streetlights. Fortunately, she knew the road well, so the darkness was not a problem.
As she took a familiar curve on the road, blinding white lights burned into her eyes. The pain was excruciating. She closed her eyes, and when she reopened them, all she could see was a dull gray spot like the residue of a giant camera flash.
Gathering her senses, she applied the brakes. She heard a hollow thud and felt her car shudder as she hit something. Panic rose in her throat as she brought her car to a halt. She remained blind, unable to see what had just happened.
She fumbled for the door handle and opened it. The bitter cold wind doubled the pain in her head.
“Can anyone hear me?” she called out, trying to force her eyes to see by raw willpower. “Is there anyone here?”
A groan came from nearby. Her panic turned to full-blown fear. Dear God, she had hit someone with her car!
“Are you hurt? Do you need an ambulance?”
No response.
She sat down in her car and felt for her purse. Frantically, she located her phone and dialed 911. Between her panic, her migraine, and her blindness, there was damn little she could coherently tell them. She knew she was on the hairpin curve on route 202, but she couldn’t remember which town bordered that portion of the road. When the woman asked her to describe the condition of the injured person, Carla explained she couldn’t see and the frustration of her blindness caused her to break down in tears.

Carla makes a mistake and is unable to forgive herself. She is a strong woman, much stronger than I am. Not only does she take in an injured man...she puts up with his spiteful and hateful treatment in order to make him well again.

Steve Brown hates women and makes Carla's life a living hell. He does everything and anything to push her away, because he only has experience with women who run away when things get challenging. Like his ex-wife who was hightailed it to divorce court when she learned he might be paralyzed for life.

Ms. O'Connor is known for stories which make you think and cheer for her characters. This dark contemporary is one where you want to shake Carla or kick Steve. It's a gripping tale as Carla strives for her happily ever after, but it doesn't come easily. She's the target of so many people who are out to hurt her.

Even with the darkness, Ms. O'Connor finds a way to redeem the characters and help them find happiness. It is a story which will keep you up reading.

Young Love-First Love... Crush or Something More? #cover_Reveal

10/4/2017

I clearly remember my first boyfriend. Okay, maybe it's because we are still friends today...but I do remember our first kiss, behind the train depot. It was shy and tentative. Soon though, it became more expressive. I had dreamed of being his girlfriend for so long. We'd been children together, friends first and then...something more.

Like many young loves, it didn't work out. He moved away and I lost him when I couldn't compete with more experienced girls (because I wasn't going to give up the prize).

Is my story unique...No. There are many of us out there with similar stories and I loved reading Lily by Any Other Name because it took me back to those memories. I hope you'll enjoy this story as much as I did.

17-year-old Lily Anderson is ready to wrap herself in a big red bow and give Zach Hewitt the greatest gift in the history of Christmas: Her. But when she pulls a pair of booties from her stocking and learns her forty-year-old mother is pregnant, Lily finds herself adrift, unsure of Zach’s commitment.

Lily hopes Zach will anchor her with promises of love. Unfortunately, his chaotic home-life makes him afraid of those three little words; and Maddie Franklin-in her Amazing Technicolor Dream Thong–makes sure Zach can have her whenever he wants.

With the help of her best friend Sarah, Lily plots to secure her place in Zach’s heart. But after a series of awkward rejections, Lily loses faith in her dream boyfriend, in herself, even in Sarah.

That’s when Lily turns to Adam Connolly, a transfer student whose lash-y eyes and comfortable silences make her question who it is she wants and what she needs. But Adam’s support can’t help her the day Lily discovers her parents’ game-changing secret.

Faced with the truth, Lily must decide how to deal with her family’s past, take hold of her own future, and accept that there are many names for love.

Not Without Risk Blurb:
He always keeps his promises…

Private security specialist, Nate Wolff promised to rescue humanitarian aid worker, Macy Gibbs, not harbor a fugitive. Determined to keep his promise and not make the same mistakes his brother made, he risks his life to protect her from the terrorist group hunting her.

Keeping this one will be the hardest thing he’s ever had to do…

With a bounty on her head for the murder of a man who bought her in an illegal human trafficking ring, Macy Gibbs puts both her life, and the life of the tall, handsome stranger who’s vowed to rescue her, in danger. Emotionally scarred from her ordeal, she trusts no one. But, can the biggest danger she’s about to face be the impact this former SEAL has on her heart?

Not Without Risk Excerpt:

Nate put a hand on Macy’s shoulder. She didn’t stir. Unable to resist, he caressed her cheek. Warm. Not as hot. A good sign. Beneath his hand her skin felt soft as silk. He gently ran his thumb across the fading bruise on her jawline. Anger and the urge to protect and defend surged through him. Except, it felt more personal. Not just a bodyguard protecting his charge. More…
Nope. Not going there. The reasons stuck like a knife in his heart.
He dropped his hand to his side, sobered, and put his thoughts in proper order. First things first. Get Macy dressed, then grab her and go. They may not have confiscated his weapons, but that could be a ruse to keep him off guard.
His supply of clothing for Macy was running low. Only two shirts and one pair of pants left. Foregoing the undergarments, he grasped the edge of the blanket, prepared to dress her and make a run for it.
“Nate?”
The murmured question came from Macy. He froze, his gaze flying to her face to find her eyes open. Glazed, confused.
Letting go of the blanket, he leaned over her. “Hey. I’m here.”
Her beautiful blue eyes that reminded him so much of Bleu Lake back home, met his, radiating with pain. “Don’t leave me. Please.”
The impact of those words went straight through his chest. At that moment, he knew they couldn’t go. Not until she was healthy enough to go. They’d pushed hard already and look where it got them.
Bending, he pressed a kiss to her forehead. “I’m not going anywhere. Go back to sleep. You’re safe.”
That seemed to work because the tension went out of her muscles and her eyes drifted closed. Seconds later her breathing evened out, indicating she slept peacefully.
Nate straightened and scrubbed a hand down his face. He returned the clothes to his pack, dragged the crude chair in front of the bed and dropped down on it. His Glock now rested across his thigh, finger near the trigger as he settled in.
Whomever, or whatever, came through that door they would have to go through him first in order to get to Macy. And he’d die before he let another person hurt her.

Meet Jennifer:
New York Times & USA Today bestselling author, Jennifer Lowery grew up reading romance novels in the back of her math book and on the bus to school, and never wanted to be anything but a writer.  Her summers were spent sitting at the kitchen table with her sisters spinning tales of romance and intrigue and always with a tall glass of ice tea at their side.

As her characters find out when they face danger, overcome fears, and are forced to look deep within themselves to discover love.

Jennifer lives in Michigan with her husband and charming rescued tomcat named Shamrock. Their son lives near them and is in the Army National Guard as well as a student at a local university. Their daughter is married and lives with her amazing husband who is stationed at Fort Bragg.
