Love Supernatural? Fall for Never Fear the Reaper #new_release

4/23/2017

Paranormal romance is my favorite genre to read. I love the different worlds and creatures. Each one is unique and features compelling characters, vampires, shifters, ghosts and so much more.

Never Fear the Reaper is the first of a trilogy about a girl who has faced death and come away stronger. The second book comes out later this year and continues the tale of Chase and Ryder.

Picture
In a world filled with darkness…

Can true love spark just enough light to save it?

When Chase hires the mysterious ghost exterminator, Ryder, to cleanse his house from a pesky poltergeist he gets way more than he’s paying her for…

There’s just something about Ryder that has him mesmerized.

Is it the fact that he’s witnessed her do the unexplainable? Or the fact that she’s absolutely breathtaking? Or perhaps it’s that eerie familiar feeling that they’ve met before, perhaps in another lifetime.

Chase desperately tags along with Ryder on a whirlwind of life threatening adventures in exchange for a few precious moments of alone time with her. With the Grimm Reaper’s Scythe as their defense, Chase developing some supernatural gifts of his own and an intense crush developing between the both of them what crazy supernatural force will target them next?

EXCERPT:
Suddenly, from behind me, a calm, raspy voice breaks the silence. “Are you Chase? I’m Ryder,” she asks rather firmly, extending her long fingers for a professional handshake.

Oh God, please don’t be her, please don’t be her, please don’t be her, I repeat over and over again to myself. This girl is too young and far too beautiful to be a ghost hunter. Inconveniently, she is literally my definition of perfection, dressed all in black. Long, dark brown hair, perfect bronze skin, bright green eyes that are surrounded with the longest eyelashes I’ve ever seen, a gorgeous pearl-white smile, and a slim yet slightly muscular build. I can’t help but let her catch me looking her up and down. Her appearance makes me even more uncomfortable with my situation. I even notice a colorful, feathery angel-wing tattoo that creeps down her left arm, which is ironic, given her profession. Come on, this girl is too petite and undeveloped to be doing a fierce job like this.

She smirks in response before I can conjure up an excuse for my gawking.

“Not at all what you expected, huh,” she says, while gesturing to the hostess with two of her fingers.

“Honestly, no you’re not…not really.” I figure it’s better to be honest with her right now. Finally, I build up enough courage to return her handshake. I’m embarrassed when my clammy palm touches her soft, cool skin.

As we follow the hostess to a booth at the far end of the dining area, she responds, “Don’t worry, no one ever does. They expect some older, more spiritual looking woman who’s all decked out in crucifixes.”

About the Author:
Ashley Pagano has always dreamed of being an artist both figuratively and literally. Her love of art was instilled by her mother who always inspired her to be creative either with a paintbrush or with a pen and paper. As far back as she can remember her life was always centered around introspection, storytelling, and imagination. Because she is so artistic, she took to the idea of creative writing very passionately. Her ability to describe a scene, person, or place, she compares to painting a picture, where she can describe every detail vividly in order to make the reader feel like they’re truly living in the story. Her works of writing usually center around a powerhouse female protagonist (which reflect her own personality), who progresses through many wild and extreme obstacles. Ashley loves to write stories that end with a cliffhanger, that leave the reader begging for more and questioning what happens next. Her most recent novel sets the stage for the paranormal romance of the century and includes ghosts, poltergeists, and demons who just love to get in the way of true love. Ashley has won awards for her design, art, and writing.

Ashley doesn’t believe in down time whatsoever and actually loves having a full “To-Do”list. Ashley is a wife to her wonderful husband, Eric and a mother to a beautiful little baby girl named Dakota. She is also a Graphic Designer and a health and fitness coach. Her husband and daughter inspire her to be the best person she can be and encourage her to pursue any of her dreams (no matter how extravagant they may be).

Tunnel Ball – Better than Sex!

Picture
Alisha is dangerously close to being demoted again for failing to train the soldiers how to fly her new techniques, so she comes up with a game to help flyers get comfortable in the Wind Tunnel. Turns out their aggressive need to win a game is sufficient to override their fear of falling.

And here is a very fine flyer with no fear whatsoever:

Stationed on opposite coasts, Alisha and Logan must each face their own demons and challenges. On the West Coast, Alisha loses her rank for butting heads with General Powell and soon discovers the life of a private can be utter hell. On the East Coast, newly promoted General Logan discovers his soldiers do not recognize his authority to command. In an effort to retake control of the East Coast Corps, Logan authorizes unthinkable actions. When Alisha faces a life-threatening crisis, will Logan rise above his own troubles, or will she discover love and rescue with her best friend Jack?

EXCERPT
In Alisha’s attempt to find other ways to create comfort in the wind tunnel, she had invented a new sport called tunnel ball. Two players matched against each other. The offense player would attempt to move a ball through three floating hoops within five minutes. The defense player would attempt to prevent the flier with blocking maneuvers by getting to the hoop before the offense.
To prevent the game from becoming deadly, no physical contact was to occur between the players, so all games required a referee. Alisha assigned severe point penalties to actual physical contact between the players. So while a player could win the game, if he won it with high penalties, he could still end up losing points and thus dropping in the overall rank of players.
The game proved remarkably successful in getting the Ryders to lose their fear of falling. It seemed their competitive nature was even a stronger distraction than sex. At first Alisha refereed the games, but once it became too popular for her to manage alone, cameras were established inside the wind tunnels for MAC to referee. Alisha didn’t really believe MAC wanted to be a referee, but the opportunity to study air flight close up probably made it worth the computer’s time. Also, it stopped all moaning about the referee’s call, which had been a problem every time Alisha had tried to let someone else referee.
Another advantage of having MAC cameras in the tunnel was she could sit at the computer and assess the progress of her students as she ate her lunch. Jack would naturally join her to “run the equipment”, since the general didn’t know she was capable of running the equipment herself, thus they no longer had to have lunches at the officers’ table.
She and Jack would bet their desserts on who would win a match. It annoyed Alisha Jack won as frequently as she did. She felt she should be able to spot talent faster than Jack. He, on the other hand, felt he should be able to assess fliers’ capabilities in battle better than her.
“This one’s no contest,” Jack laughed as he watched a pint-size girl and one of the highest ranked players enter the tunnel. “Are we certain they’re planning to play tunnel ball?”
Alisha looked at the girl in surprise. “That’s Daily News. Logan sent her back from the East Coast for training earlier this week. Kevin must be looking to raise his point level with some easy wins. This has to be her first game of tunnel ball.” Alisha shook her head as she clicked the fast forward emblem.
“Stop!” Jack took the mouse from her. He moved the video back and restarted it just before Daily darted up and blocked Kevin from entering his hoop. “Dessert on Daily,” he declared.
Alisha shook her head. There was no way Daily could beat the all-time scorer in tunnel ball. “You’re on.”

Alisha learns that being a leader comes with all sorts of extra responsibilities. Unable to bite her tongue, she's put in a difficult position where she's forced to give up on her beliefs in order to survive. But Alisha won't let her dreams die. Alone and isolated, she faces pressure from the General as well as tormenting by other soldiers. Logan faces his own problems and becomes forced to become a man he doesn't like. Just as alone as Alisha, his dreams falter as well.

Ms. O'Connor completes this compelling tale of one girl's determination to save herself and ends up saving her country. As always, Ms. O'Connor's story tugs at the reader's heartstrings as she twists the characters and forces them to face demons both inside and outside their own hearts. I couldn't stop once I started reading so you may want to start it in the morning. This is a story I would read again and again as it left me with a deep understanding of life and dreams.

Friends to Enemies #Cover_Reveal #Kristy_Centeno

4/13/2017

No- Kristy and I aren't the former friends who now fight... We are still friends, but I'm talking about her latest release- Enchanter, Book One in the Giver of Life Trilogy.

Her main character, Leah used to be best friends with Brandon, but now they aren't.  In fact, she's not sure she even likes him and certainly doesn't trust him...but when they are forced to work together, their situation changes.

I know each of us had a best friend at one time who we lost. Whether we grew apart or a big fight happened, that person who we once spoke to each and every day is now no longer someone we talk to. What if you could? Would you?

Most of us would (unless it was a huge fight) because when someone was so close, you miss them, even if they aren't a part of your life anymore. I love that Kristy writes about characters who are so real to me because they could be me!! Check out her book and see for yourself.
Picture
They have a past. But will they have a future?

Leah Parker is resilient and hardworking. She’d always prided herself in maintaining a level head, even under pressure. Everything changes when she begins to see strange apparitions and hear ghostly voices on the morning of her birthday.

In a blink of the eyes, Leah’s life takes a drastic turn that spirals her into the unknown. Something is out to get her, but she’s unsure if she’s losing her mind, or the faces and demands of the dead are real. Unable to find the answers she needs, she has no choice but to rely on ex-best friend, Brandon Morris, for help.

But as she will soon discover, Brandon has his own secrets. Some of which defy logic and only add to the mystery surrounding Leah. And mix feelings between the two complicate matters by getting in the way of what they really want, and what they must do.

Can Brandon lighten the load on her by figuring out what or who wants her dead? Or will their past history get in the way of the storm brewing just beyond Leah’s grasp?

Love Song finally Releases  #New_Release #KG_Fletcher

4/12/2017

KG's stories are pure romance with a touch of suspense. Her first release, Unexpected had me on the edge of my seat. Love and Danger! Wow... Now she's sharing her new release with us. Love Song is a story of two people who share a common interest in music, but like with her other book, danger gets in the way. Hold on to your seats!
Picture
Her heart searched for a melody. Will the love song she finally hears be loud enough to drown out the screaming memories of her past?

Back-up singer Casey lived the old anthem, “work hard, play harder.” When she meets handsome sub-drummer, Sam Wildner on a gig, their attraction is immediate. The two musicians forge ahead in a dizzy rhythm of passion and music, both impressed by each other’s harmonious abilities. When Sam learns of Casey’s family trauma involving her sister’s abusive ex-boyfriend, he commits to being there for her and her young niece who is caught in the middle.

The melody of their love song rings loudly in Casey’s ears as she and Sam navigate the precarious fast lane of jealousy, murder and rock ‘n roll.

EXCERPT:
His smile rivaled the sun as he grabbed her hand to stand. “Come on. I still have something to show you.” They continued through the gorgeous park, stopping once to curiously watch a young girl play the violin while she hula-hooped. They finally came to an area that had been designated a “quiet zone.” Sam turned to her before they entered and spoke softly. “Strawberry Fields. I’ve always wanted to see this memorial to the Beatle’s legend, John Lennon.”

“Me too.” She nodded excitedly. In all the years she had been coming to New York, she had never been to the famous memorial. They walked hand in hand on a winding, wooded trail flanked by shrubs and mature trees—an unexpected oasis in a city of eight and a half million people. They came to a clearing where a circular, mosaic pathway of inlaid stones had been created. There was a single word in the center of the mosaic, the title of Lennon’s famous song, “Imagine”. Colorful flowers and flickering candles in glasses covered the stones, left behind by Lennon fans. They stood there, lost in their own thoughts about music, love and a life lost tragically too soon. Sam put his arm across her shoulders and held her tightly as they listened to a lone guitar player strumming the chorus of the famous song for which the mosaic was dedicated. It was a beautiful, contemplative place. She felt at peace. She felt…love.

A slight breeze picked up, causing a few colorful leaves to rustle and fall onto the sidewalk. She watched as a large, orange maple leaf danced across the inlaid stones, an homage to the eccentric music legend. Sam brushed her hair out of her face, his fingers lingering on her cheek. She brought her hand up and laced her fingers with his, gazing at him. They were writing their own song. The melody was coming into form with each minute they spent together.

The universe had shifted in the past twenty-four hours. A line had definitely been crossed… and there was no turning back.

New Covers! The Wilder Sisters

4/4/2017

The Wilder Sisters Series contains some of my first books and I love that I was able to redo the covers for this series. Forever Love was the first book and I loved the cover for the anthology it was in. But when that publishing house closed, Forever Love found a new home and a new cover. Since then, there have been two covers, with this newest one as the last! (or latest and greatest).

I wanted all the books to be branded together so that when you saw one, you knew that the book was a part of this series. Some of you are still waiting on the fifth sister's story and it's coming. I'm thinking of wrapping this series up for Christmas. <3

Until then, enjoy the new covers. Do you have a favorite? You can find out about the whole series and purchase the books on Amazon.

Jenna Jaxon's Top 10 Romantic Movies

4/2/2017

I'm happy to have Jenna Jaxon stopping by today to share her latest release and give me her top 10 favorite romantic movies. Take it away, Jenna!

My Top Ten Favorite Romantic Movies

I know everyone likes top ten lists—I can’t keep myself from wanting to know who like which books or movies best, and I realized I haven’t thought about my favorite romantic movies in quite a while. I don’t go to movies very often these days. Between a full time day job in the theatre, and a full time job writing romances, my time is pretty well spent (throw in some food and a very little bit of sleep). But now and again, I do get out to see a movie or more likely watch one through Direct TV. So here is my current list of fave Romantic Movies. (I’m taking this rather loosely, considering the guidelines of romance writing and the need for an HEA. Not all of these movies end happily, but they are very romantic nevertheless!)

These are in no special order, except for the first one, which is my all-time favorite romantic comedy.

1. Notting Hill. The proposal at the end makes me catch my breath each time I see this. Love It!

2. Bridget Jones’s Diary. Very funny and awesome. And the end, again, is just heart-tugging.

3. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. A new favorite because of the proposal scene between Lizzie and Darcy. Priceless!

4. Titanic. Yeah, no HEA, but killer romance nonetheless.

5. Kate and Leopold. Who cannot love Hugh Jackman in this role? He makes me want to go back to 19th century New York!

6. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. The sword fight at the end is spectacular, and I just love all the things he does for her. Plus, the medieval period is my favorite and I love the production values of the movie.

7. It Happened One Night. An oldie but a goody. Funny as crap, and yes, very romantic. I always wanted to see it done as a remake with George Clooney and Renee Zellwiger.

8. Shakespeare in Love. YES! God, so witty, so romantic, so funny. I adore Tom Stoppard’s writing, and of course the cast is stunning. Makes you want to fall in love—with Shakespeare if on one else.

9. Gone With the Wind. Classic. Maybe the first romance I ever read. Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh as Rhett Butler and Scarlett O’Hara. Again, no HEA, but boy, what a romance.

10. You’ve Got Mail. I loved them in Sleepless in Seattle, but the love/hate relationship in YGM is just over the top romantic for me.

As a writer, I use movies to assess how people in love act, what they say, how they react to one another. So movies are a great resource for any writer to help bring our characters to life and to that “happy-ever-after.”

I love your list Jenna. Some of mine which you didn't have on yours is The Notebook and PS I Love You. Maybe because of the HEA's but they both are my go to movies when I need a dose of romance!

“What pleasure may I give you this evening, my lord?” Violet forced the words out over and over. Wild laughter in the hallway, faint strains of a pianoforte, and the lewd grunts from the room next door twisted her stomach, yet she kept repeating the phrase. The raucous sounds of the brothel had become more familiar during the week, but still set her on edge.

Footsteps approached once more, slowed, stopped.

Violet’s heart pounded, her rapid breathing keeping pace. The huge bed to her right drew her attention for perhaps the hundredth time. Was this the moment? She seized the arms of the velvet chair, fighting to hold herself in place. Her nails sank into the soft fabric as she struggled to slow her breaths.

The handle lowered.

Her head came up, back straight, forced smile plastered on her face as the door opened wide and she caught a glimpse of the man who had bought her for the night. Madame Vestry had informed her this morning that one of her regular customers had responded favorably to her invitation—she’d actually called it an invitation—and for Violet to make herself available in the green room at eight o’clock tonight.

She’d not been told who he was and somehow it mattered little to her she did not know the name of the man about to ruin her. One of the house rules forbade her to ask. If the gentleman offered his name, that was his business. The other girls had told her if she needed to put a name to the face, to think of customers as “Lord John.”

This Lord John entered the small room in a swirl of black fur and sandalwood, the spicy scent tickling Violet’s nose, making it twitch.

She tipped her head back and looked up into the swarthy face. Dark hair and piercing blue eyes, a strong jaw, and a long, straight nose. Too tall, though. He was too tall for her. The ridiculousness of the irrational thought broke through her lethargy. She forced herself up out of the chair as he strode toward her.

The smile curling his full lips would have been charming had not the gleam in his eyes betrayed his lustful intent.

“Good evening, Cassandra.” His deep baritone voice sent a frisson of dread through her. “Such a lovely name for a lovely temptress.”

“What pleasure may I give you this evening, my lord?” The words came out flat, but by God, she’d gotten them out. Now to remain standing and not faint. One small goal at a time. She stared at the wide expanse of blue velvet jacket barely two inches from her face.

He ran the back of his hand along her cheek and goose flesh pimpled her whole body. “I do hope the pleasure will be mutual, my dear.”

Violet jerked back from his caress. Her gaze, firmly fixed on the gold buttons of his jacket, now shot to his face, expecting a leer. How could he suggest she might enjoy being debauched?

His dark brows had puckered into a surprised frown, almost reproachful. He lowered his hand.

Dear God. She couldn’t refuse him anything. Lord John owned her for the night. Whatever he wanted to do to her, be it lewd touch or soft caress, she had to submit. No matter she wanted to scream, or cry, or pummel his chest. Curse him for being a depraved wretch who reveled in her misfortunes.

That wasn’t fair. She returned her gaze to his chest.  Despite her misery, she couldn’t blame him for her misfortunes or her decision to come here. He was a man bent on the usual pleasures of men, and she needed the patronage of such men to survive. If he wanted her to be pleased, then she would convince him of her pleasure. A leaden weight settled over her, grounding her. She tipped back her head and smiled at him, the practiced false smile that showed her teeth. “Then I am certain we shall both be pleased, my lord.”

Wonder Woman+Amazon= #New_Cover

4/1/2017

Sounds shifty. But bear with me... I love Wonder Woman. Linda Carter was the perfect super hero. She helped behind the scenes but also protected the underdog. She knew how to fight and also how to use her brains to get the bad guys to talk.

I'm super excited about the new movie coming out with Wonder Woman's back story...but what if Diana wasn't the only decedent of a secret warrior society? Wende Dikec created a whole new world where young girls are trained to be warriors and become a vital member of their family business. They are a new generation of Wonder Women.
Picture
Descended from a secret race of Amazon Warriors, Ana Thermadosa is not like other girls. As a student at Artemis Academy, the training grounds for a mysterious company called Cerberus Enterprises, Ana has spent her life learning what is important.

How to fight, how to win, how to kill, and, mostly importantly, how to follow orders and live up to the expectations of her powerful family.

Trained in the art of warfare since birth, now her skills are being put to the test. She’s been hired to defend Jordan Banks, the wealthy son of a nefarious businessman, from kidnappers.

She despises Jordan and all he stands for, but soon comes to realize that many things in the outside word aren’t as she’s been led to believe. She also discovers Jordan isn’t what she expected, and, against her better judgment, finds herself starting to care for him.

When disaster strikes, Ana is put in a difficult predicament. Keeping Jordan safe would mean betraying her own people and everything she believes in, but letting him die would mean betraying something even more important.
