About the Author:
Ashley Pagano has always dreamed of being an artist both figuratively and literally. Her love of art was instilled by her mother who always inspired her to be creative either with a paintbrush or with a pen and paper. As far back as she can remember her life was always centered around introspection, storytelling, and imagination. Because she is so artistic, she took to the idea of creative writing very passionately. Her ability to describe a scene, person, or place, she compares to painting a picture, where she can describe every detail vividly in order to make the reader feel like they’re truly living in the story. Her works of writing usually center around a powerhouse female protagonist (which reflect her own personality), who progresses through many wild and extreme obstacles. Ashley loves to write stories that end with a cliffhanger, that leave the reader begging for more and questioning what happens next. Her most recent novel sets the stage for the paranormal romance of the century and includes ghosts, poltergeists, and demons who just love to get in the way of true love. Ashley has won awards for her design, art, and writing.
Ashley doesn’t believe in down time whatsoever and actually loves having a full “To-Do”list. Ashley is a wife to her wonderful husband, Eric and a mother to a beautiful little baby girl named Dakota. She is also a Graphic Designer and a health and fitness coach. Her husband and daughter inspire her to be the best person she can be and encourage her to pursue any of her dreams (no matter how extravagant they may be).

Fighting for Our World #New_Release #The_Division

3/24/2017

Danger has arrived and we've not been prepared. However, a group of teenagers have some special abilities and can save our world. These teens are shifters and special creatures who will take on evil to keep us safe.

The second book in The Division series continues the tale of these unique teenagers as they finally face a battle tougher than they ever thought to face. But what I love is that underneath it all, they are still kids, driven by love and friendships. Connie L. Smith does a wonderful job weaving in so many different characters who are strong, determined and still flawed.
Picture
The war has begun. The battle’s unfolding. And victory feels so distant…

The Essenced had prepared and trained, but never imagined the true horror of watching demons tearing through the Division to invade the realm. Every claw is horrific—every snarl disgusting—and the responsibility of keeping that vile terror from expanding beyond the battlefield’s borders rests in the teenagers’ hands. They thought they were ready for that challenge…

But then their confidence is shaken when a deadly new weapon emerges from the enemy’s arsenal, and well-kept secrets from the Essenced’s angelic superiors begin to surface.

In the midst of the carnage, can the teens find the strength within themselves, and among themselves, to grasp victory in blood-tainted hands?

Excerpt

“I hear, at the facility, you were barely capable of communicating.”

“That’s because I was,” Shane admitted. “Even when I was there for Nicholai’s debriefing after the battle, I was unfocused. Not as much as I’d been in the past, but more than I am here because this,” he tipped his chin toward the Division, “was nowhere near me. You said yourself that my protective instincts have a place now to channel themselves, so I don’t have to be so spacey all the time.”

“Yes, I did, and I meant it.” After a quiet moment where the angel watched the alpha pensively, he shrugged and looked away. “I suppose I didn’t fully appreciate the difference in mindsets. Complete preoccupation to boredom is quite a transition.”

“Not a hard one to make when we’re stuck in Catoosa for days without even a 3DS or a book.”

Stephan absorbed Shane’s comments, and a feeling of unease rose within him when he pondered the implications lying somewhere beneath the actual words. Bored? A Syragh-Essenced in these circumstances? Granted, he hadn’t seen an actual Syragh in millennia, but as memory served, they never tired of their purpose. In fact, on occasion, the creatures’ impulses made them some of the most annoying beings in the universe. One could only be forced to pause walking so a helpful entity could remove a banana peel from his path so many times before the consideration became taxing. And they’d always done those kinds of things with giant smiles.

But then again, these soldiers had been human a great while longer than they’d been Essenced. Perhaps the boredom and monotonous outlook could be explained as lingering human characteristics within the pack. Stephan sincerely hoped the reasoning could be so logically addressed. Otherwise…

I’ll not even think it
, the angel silently decided.

As the demons near, the Essences rise…

AJ had never been particularly athletic or coordinated, so waking up to realize she suddenly has super-human strength is a massive, mind-shaking shock. Finding that she’s gained a stalker overnight is another mark in the unusual category, and when she discovers she’s always had the essence of a werewolf in her blood, her world all but shifts beneath her.

Demons, she’s told, are looming in the world’s future, and the only hope humanity has of surviving their arrival is if she and teenagers like her surrender their humanity to dive into their mythical essences. Fairies, dragons, dwarves, mermaids… The remnants of seventeen different fantasy species must come to life to save the lives of everyone.

Someway, an army of supernatural teenagers must prepare to meet the demons escaping from their dimensional banishment, or everything ends. Can these teens succeed and save the world?

EXCERPT:
“Their essences. Their beings. When mingled with magic, they’re what make werewolves, dragons, and all other mythical creatures. The individuals from the war wouldn't last, but some of those essences had to, or the world wouldn't stand a chance.”

“Oh, this keeps getting weirder.”

“And it’ll get stranger still,” he added without missing a beat. “You asked if they retired. This is what happened to them. They gave up their essences and their magic—since magic was draining from the world—to preserve them for future use. It killed them, but they did it.”

“Well, where did the essences and magic go?”

“Exactly!” He smiled, seeming proud of her for asking that question. “The magic was bottled up and given to a collection of angels for safekeeping. Its release was dependent on one particular angel's judgment as to when the Division was too big to ignore.”

She could sense something very bad about to be revealed, but she'd come this far. There was no point in turning back now. “‘Was’ dependent?”

He looked right into her eyes as he confirmed her suspicion. “The magic was released, sweetheart.”

Her terror multiplied with that admission, both for what it meant for the world in total and for what it implied for her specifically. “The Division was too big? Demons will be here soon?”

“Afraid so.”

“But what about the essences? Don't they have to mingle with the magic and save the world?”

“The essences were hidden in bloodlines,” he said. “Humans were the newest beings during the war, ones who required no magic to live. They would survive. They had to carry on the essences. Each potential essence was hidden in a different bloodline with the humans never knowing what was in their genes.

About the Author:
Connie L. Smith spends a decent amount of time with her mind wandering in fictional places. She reads too much, likes to bake, and might forever be sad that she doesn’t have fairy wings. And that she can’t swing dance. Much of her preferred music is severely outdated, and as an adult she’s kind of obsessed with Power Rangers. She has her BA from Northern Kentucky University in Speech Communication and History (she doesn’t totally get the connection either), and her MA in English and Creative Writing.

A First Love- Beyond Fate #New_Release

3/23/2017

One of the things I love most about my job is reading books and deciding if they are good fits for our publishing house. Not every book has what it takes to become a novel. Some lack polish (although in those cases, we can shine them), while others lack a spark (this is harder to fix). But when I read Beyond Fate, I couldn't put it down.

This story hit me in a few places... first of all, the prologue. I could see the Frat House in my mind. I've been in a few. Growing up on Ohio University's campus, I worked a lot with a specific fraternity. The rooms, the camaraderie and of course the parties... they were a part of my past and when I read about Julia and Russ... I was back there.

The second piece was a school. As a teacher for over twenty years, I understood the ins and outs of a school. The teaching, the parents, the lessons... All the things which made the setting so much more real for me.

But even if you haven't had those experiences, you are going to fall in love with Russ and Julia's story. A first love is one which is never forgotten. Come join in the fun!
Picture
Years of separation mean nothing when love is in the air…

Julia Diaz never wanted to fall for her friend's older brother, especially at a college frat party. But, for some reason, her heart was stolen by Russell that night. Eight years after, she never forgot him. Now destiny has brought them together. Only this time Russell is no longer a boy. He’s a man who knows what he wants and will not be denied.

Russell Webb used to be optimistic, and fun loving until a family tragedy turned his world on its side. Putting all his focus on work, he picked himself back up, and managed to turn his grief into something resembling a life. When a woman from his past reappears, and gives him a glimpse of true happiness, he’ll do anything to secure her heart. Even face the darkness he has avoided for so long.

Excerpts:

“You’re not going anywhere.” He tightened his arms. The thought of her leaving made him feel desperate.

Her smile broadened. “I have to.”

“Nope.”

“Yes, Russ.”

“Sorry, Julia.” He leaned in, inhaling her sweet, jasmine scent. “You are going to have to live here now.”

She laughed loudly at his suggestion. The sound was deep, sexy, and marvelous.

“What? You don’t want to live with twenty smelly, grown men?”

She wiped her eyes, shaking her head no.

“Well, maybe I should take you back to the library bathroom, until you change your mind.”

She broke out of his arms. “Do it and die.”

He grabbed her back to him in a hurry, not ready to throw in the towel.

“Stop distracting me.” She cupped his face in her hands, and moved closer to him. “I’m here to offer you a reward.”

“What’s my reward?” He felt his body tighten with need as the curves of her full chest pushed against his shirt. She looked up at him, her eyes dancing hazel, this time, with desire.

“This.” She pressed her answer against his lips, and then he could no longer feel his toes.

The kiss was slow, murderously slow. Her lips were soft, silky, and warm. She tasted tantalizing and delicious. He groaned, pulling her closer, sinking into her. She met him, opening her mouth for his tongue, pressing their bodies together. The moment of sweet was over, and suddenly the kiss became desperate, hot, and sensual. He ran his hands down her waist, and she licked his lower lip, before sucking it in.

He pulled his lips away, to drag them down her neck. “I want you.”

“I know.” She sighed, pushing out of his arms. “But not here.”

Second Chance at Love #Beyond_Fate #Cover_Reveal

3/17/2017

Have you ever met someone just for an instance and fallen in love? But for whatever reason, you two didn't fit at that moment...We've all come across someone who at that time wasn't a good fit for our lives. I remember reading about a Hollywood couple who had met three or four times before they both were free to date.

Being an author, I like to think about the "what if's", especially with my life. Having been born and raised in Ohio, the chances of me falling in love with a guy from Michigan who lived in four other states, seem slim. Who knows... maybe I needed all the "things" to happen before I could see the value in my husband.

Fate plays an interesting role in life, whether you believe in it or not and is the premise of Beyond Fate- a new book by Susan V. Vaughn.

Dreaming of a Princess #New_Release #Ashley_Brooke_Robbins

3/14/2017

I used to dream of being a princess. Might have been my fascination with Disney movies. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White...I thought my prince would come and the world would be a happily ever after. But then, I was able to read a variety of anti-fairy tales where the happily ever after wasn't there or the characters were a little confused. It was then that I finally got to see that being a princess might not be what it was cracked up to be.

And I love that Ashley Brooke Robbins' latest release shows an unique tale of being a princess. One for a modern age and for every girl who dreams about life in a castle.

The Royal Family Just Got a Little Bigger….

My name’s Baily King and I’ve always considered myself different—liking dead roses, cemeteries, reading fully clothed in the bathtub, and howling at the moon whilst dancing naked under it. But, when my grandma, a woman I scarcely remember, comes for a visit, she opens her mouth and my weird world crashes down all over my combat-booted feet.

See, dear Gram is dying and wishes for me to accept my royal name. Turns out she finally left a small village south of Ireland—a village that her and her husband rule. Pfft. No pressure.

Bam, you’re a Princess. Wear your tiara and shut up.

Excerpt 1

The last image I saw of the woman sitting across from me now was tears streaming down her porcelain cheeks, and she held her hand out to me as my dad carried me out of some weird place. “My dad brought me to visit you?” I can’t stop myself.

Her eyebrows lift slightly, and, after a moment, “Yes.”

“But my dad’s girlfriend was being her usual thunder-twat self. Shocker. He had shit taste until he met her.” I jerk my chin to my stepmom.

Dear Stepmom elbows me, a clear sign for me to watch my language.

“Yes.” The corners of her glossed lips pull upwards. “I won’t waste any more time, then.” She clasps her hands together in her lap. “Baily, my dear, my full name is Elisabeth Eleanor King,” she informs me, like such an insight would have some special meaning.

“Okay?” I don’t know what to say. Do you want a cookie? seems a little too rude. We just met. I can’t spout bullshit until, at least the second date.

“I am currently the queen of a small village to the South of Ireland. Your father, Richard, was destined to be a king. But he, Lord rest his soul, was unable to fulfill his duties and take his rightful place after my husband and I are to step down from the throne.” She glances over at Tina and takes her hand when Tina’s eyes brim with tears. She adds sincerely. “He was a wonderful man and loved you both dearly.” With that her gaze returns to mine.

“I beg your pardon?” I didn’t hear her right. I know I didn’t. I wait an extra minute for someone to crack up. Maybe I got my humor from Dad’s side? The room’s not quiet; you can hear the tension, and yet, no one laughs. I turn to look at the Hulks. Some are staring off into space, others are watching me, but there’s no amusement present. “You’re shitting me, right? You might need to run that by me one more time ’cause I just don’t think I heard you right.” You may think you’re a queen…

About the Author:
Ashley’s favorite thing to write about is basically anything to do with myths, supernatural, paranormal…which might be easier for her considering ghosts constantly roam her house. She’s seen into their realm a few times because her third eye likes to remain open—she’s psychic. But upon occasion she’ll be forced to write about mundane, young adult life. It comes somewhat naturally to her considering she’s twenty herself.

If she still hasn’t met a vampire or other supernatural being, you’ll most likely find her with her computer or a notebook, working on whatever story plots invaded her mind or an article for www.lllranting.com. An organization that supports the LGBT+ community, mental health sufferers, and body positivity. Like most young adults, she’s still unsure of what all she wants to do with her life. Become a marine biologist, graphic designer, editor, own a clothing line, become a mermaid, join the circus as a psychic? Or, do it all?  Only time will tell.

She hopes to one day explore the world and all its nooks and crannies; delve into its secrets and rich history. Take her mom to swim with the dolphins, let her sister finally visit Graceland, and, her own dream, swim with sharks, doesn’t matter what kind… Mom probably won’t come for that adventure. She currently lives in North Carolina with her mom, sister, and four crazy, spoiled dogs who think they’re human.

You can find her on her website:www.JustThatWeirdoNextDoor.com, or on pretty much any other social media site as JustThatWeirdoNextDoor, or ThatWeirdoNext, except Snapchat (ash_lllranting). You can probably find those links on her website.

Rana: The Best Queen on the Planet #liza_OConnor

3/13/2017

Picture
The Power of ‘Return’

While Rana has a plethora of spells to make her strong. One of her favorite spells is one that requires no potions nor sprinkling of substances. It is simply stating the word ‘Return’. It is so powerful, that she need only whisper it and whatever was being sent her way would reverse and go back to the sender, only a hundred times more potent.

Thus, when General Hack declared the tower had been overrun by the enemy and ordered his men to fire upon it, sending a massive quantity of arrows into the tower, killing her father, she orders the arrows to ‘return’, then realizing her soldiers had only followed the general’s order, she amended her order, “All to General Hack.” And soon after, the general became a pin-cushion ball of arrows.
Picture
BLURB

Rana is only sixteen when she becomes queen. Her first challenge is to quell an internal coup while a massive army storms the gates of her castle. Her enemies believe her to be a child, but she has powers they’ve never suspected. She also has great dreams for her people, and she will do whatever is necessary to make them happen, even marrying a prince she does not want.

EXCERPT
Rana finally got a chance to meet the general’s daughter on the journey back to Stronghold. She, Cara, and Lilth shared the iron carriage.
Cara soon fell asleep, her head in Rana’s lap. Rana’s hand absentmindedly stroked the girl’s hair.
“Is she your pet?” Lilth asked.
“What? No! She’s my maid.”
“You treat her like a spoiled pet.”
“She is very young. Too young for her job, but she has been a great comfort to me during this last month. Thus, I treat her with love and kindness.”
Lilth stared out a window slate. “You treat her better than her mother did, I imagine. With such a soft heart, I wonder how you’ve accomplished so much.” She then faced Rana. “Nor do I understand how Mother failed to defeat you.”
“God protects me.”
She snorted. “There is no God. You know that as well as I. Your power comes from fairy magic. We both know that.”
“Your mother was a fairy?” Rana asked.
“As am I. As are you. Only you seem far more powerful than me, even though I am three years older. I don’t understand why.”
“What sort of things did your mother teach you?”
“Thousands of ways to kill a person.”
Rana felt sorry for the girl. “My mother taught me to be one with God. To help Him heal sickness, grow plants, and protect oneself from harm. My strength comes from God.”
“Yet, you murdered my brothers.”
“No. I simply returned their gift. Had they sent me gold coins, they would be rich now.”

Rana never expected to become queen so soon. Yet, she always had all the strength she needed to become one of the best queen's of all time.

At the age of sixteen, I was more worried about boys than ruling a country or making sure my people were safe from war. I didn't understand how people could say mean things or act out behind my back. Yet at sixteen, Rana understood how to be a leader at a time when so many of her "so called friends" were really out to get her. Rana could look inside a person with a touch of her hand...She never asked to be queen or to lose her parents, but when it happened, she put the needs of others first. Yet, even to protect her castle, she doesn't indiscriminately kill. She finds ways to stop the invaders without harming the innocents.

Once again, Ms. O'Connor weaves a tale of magic and honor. Her characters teach me something about life each time I read them. Her thinking and strong honor are things we need more of in our world.

Even the secondary characters learn from Rana. They learn how to be more honest and caring. They learn how to be stronger and how to fight for what they want. This is certainly a book for everyone...

Can she count on Jack to be there for her? Can she trust Gabe with her life? Will she be strong enough to protect herself from the darkness that is desperate to kill her?

…And you thought college was easy.

EXCERPT:
Suddenly, he lifted me, boosting me above him and twirling me around in the winter night as the song came to a close. As if I weighed no more than a feather, he slowly lowered me until I was just inches above his face. I let my arms drape around his neck. He looked up at me with burning, passionate eyes. Those walls he so normally hid behind were nowhere to be found. I parted my lips and slowly closed my eyes, ready for his kiss.

A branch snapped in the forest surrounding us. Gabe and I immediately twisted our heads in the direction of the sound.

“Stay here,” he ordered as he gently placed me down and cautiously made his way to the edge of the tree line.

“What is it?” I whisper-shouted after him. “Do you see anything?”

Gabe crouched down low and peered into the forest, his Dark Soul eyes seeing into the depths of the shadows better than my normal human eyes.

“No. I don’t see anything,” he answered. “But that doesn’t mean there’s nothing out there.” I heard a cool chill behind his words, which unsettled me.

“Maybe it was an animal?” I offered.

“Maybe.” His voice trailed off. “Either way, we need to get back inside.”

“FAYE!” I heard someone scream. I spun around just in time to see Jack frantically running across the street, his arms flailing.

Princess? ...I Think Not! #Cover_Reveal

3/1/2017

I remember when I wanted to be a princess. I thought about how awesome it would be to have a huge palace, beautiful dresses and servants. Yep, someone else to do the cooking and cleaning was my dream. But then again, I grew up in a large family where everyone was expected to do their part.

But would being a princess solve my problems? Or would I have more? I had a childish image of what a princess did--ride on floats and wave. Reality is much different. Leaders of any shape or size must serve the people. They help run the country and forge peace across territories. Would I still want to be a princess? I don't know but most princesses don't get a choice. They are born into the role.

Ashley Brooke Robbins shares her newest cover and upcoming release for Princess?...I Think Not. You can read for yourself if being a princess is all it's cut out to be.
