Life Gets in the Way #Coverreveal #comingsoon

I'm a  big planner. I like to know what I'm doing each day and have two calendars where I keep information. When something doesn't happen according to my plan, I suffer anxiety. Sometimes I shut down and can't move forward.

When I planned for my wedding, I knew I wanted to do something small. It was a second wedding for both my husband and myself. Running away to Vegas seemed about right. I could handle the small event.

Author Grea Warner's newest book, TAILS CALIFORNIA, features a wedding gone awry. Bethany had everything planned out but one accident changes everything. I would have been beside myself but she perseveres.

TAILS CALIFORNIA is the sequel to HEADS CAROLINA and delves deeper into Ryan and Bethany's relationship as they try to handle all the stresses that come with their lives.

Ms. Warner's books are an emotionally gratifying read that will keep you up through the night. TAILS CALIFORNIA releases on Aug. 24th, so preorder your copy today!

Blurb:
The week was supposed to end with a white dress and promises. It didn’t. Instead there was a black hearse.

Bethany and Ryan’s dream day is marred by the unexpected news of someone close to them passing away. More than ever, they need to lean on each other to help get through this devastating loss. But it won’t be easy.

Grief has its own timeline and also has a unique way of assigning blame … warranted or not. Not only is Bethany struggling with her own emotions, but she feels helpless when it comes to her role in the family. Is Ryan pulling away? Are the kids acting differently? And why would a fantastic career opportunity cause such anger and stress?

Will their coin flip bring a happily ever after or a sad goodbye?

“Ms. Warner writes with an authenticity that evokes the emotion that the author is describing in her writing.” –Amazon reviewer.

Two New Beach Reads!

7/19/2021

Do you love to read by the pool or on the beach? These are two amazing stories sure to keep you entertained while you tan! A NATURAL PASSION and WISHING ON WATER were both a part of the ONCE UPON A SUMMER box set, which you can't get any longer. So here's your chance to fall in love with spunky heroines and sexy heroes sure to steam up your summer!

A NATURAL PASSION by Tammy Mannersly
Dylan O’Day has been an exemplary marine biologist for years, constantly devoted to the protection and preservation of the natural world. Yet lately, he has a new passion, one that’s distracting his once focused thoughts. Though a decade older than her and her trusted mentor, Dylan hasn’t been able to stop thinking about the new intern. He’s never met a person quite like Kyra before, someone so genuine and caring, and who understands his love of environmental conservation. It’s just too bad his age and situation put him in an ethical dilemma. Should he risk it all for a chance at happiness or insist on keeping their relationship platonic?

Kyra Shine began interning only a few months ago at the Merchant Marine Science Centre and she’s already crushing hard on the boss’ son. Jake Merchant might be the bad boy of the team, but he seems perfect. They share a love of nature, especially the ocean and spend their days watching over the endangered turtles nesting along the coast. While her mentor—the sweet, but overprotective Dylan—disagrees with her growing infatuation, Kyra’s sure his scathing assessment of Jake is misinformed. Surely, the two men are more alike than they realize.

After discovering the turtle nests raided in the night, the Science Centre team goes on high alert, until a dangerous interaction with illegal poachers shatters reputations. Can the team save their beloved turtles before another nest is ransacked? Will Dylan overcome his concerns to tell Kyra how he truly feels before her heart is completely lost to another?

EXCERPT
“What are you up to, Shine? Playing with the fishes?”

“Something like that,” she agreed, fighting back the girlish giggle that wanted to burst from her lips as soon as those gorgeous brown eyes had met hers.

His gaze dropped and roamed over her body for a moment. His head nodded slightly with the movement. Kyra’s nipples hardened under his stare, and the heated tingling of desire clawed at her. Warmth blossomed over her skin. She glanced down, checking that her body was still hidden beneath the flimsy material of the red and white frangipani bikini.

“Lucky fishes,” he drawled, dragging his gaze back to hers.

She chuckled, suddenly tense. “You’ve seen me in this bikini before, Jake. It’s nothing special.”

“Nothing special.” He stepped forward, closing the gap between them. “I would never say that.”

His fingers reached up, skimming her collarbone before slipping under the thin rope of material that formed the halter around her neck. He slid them along her skin, the hot, rough, dryness of him against the soft, moistness of her. They caressed their way up to her neck and then back down, just above the cup of the bikini’s bra. He let his fingers linger there, his chocolate brown eyes gazing deep into her own.

Jake stepped back from her reluctantly. “What are you doing tomorrow night?”

Her dark blonde brows narrowed as she tried to calm her ragged breathing. “Sunday?”

He nodded.

“That’s family night,” Kyra began again. “I mean, you know we can’t miss family night. Your dad always invites everyone from the Turtle Center and the Science Center for a big barbeque. Everyone who wants to come is invited.”

He shrugged. “Maybe we don’t want to come this time?”

She giggled. “And, what are we going to do instead?”

Jake reached for her free hand, holding it, cool and damp against the warmth of his. “Go out for dinner. Somewhere nice. Together.”

WISHING ON WATER by Liz Ashlee
People getting engaged. Married. Adopting pets. Buying cars and houses. Having babies. Meanwhile, Hope is still living with her parents, hasn’t accomplished anything since high school and her relationship status isn’t just single – it’s non-existent.

As she sees it, there’s nothing else to do but the one thing that makes the most logical sense: flee to her great-aunt’s retirement community. The last thing she expects is to meet a very handsome, very age appropriate man there who might be the key to solving her single relationship problem.

EXCERPT
"Lucky us," Aunt Isla says, crinkling her nose. Someone knocks on the door and she stares at it blankly. "Who's that?"

Arthur's smile melts away. "Paul. My competition."

Aunt Isla laughs. "With all the excitement over Hope, I completely forgot I asked Paul to stop by to look at my TV." She claps her hands together excitedly. If I didn't know any better, I'd almost think there's a conspiratorial tint to her eyes. "Oh, I can't wait for you to meet Paul, Hope. He's such a sweetheart."

"And a dreamboat," I add.

"The man has more girlfriends around here than you can count and you'll see why," she says, walking toward the door. "Coming!"

I spin in my chair, resting my arms on the back of it. I don't know why I'm so excited to meet this Paul. He's a looking glass into what a gorgeous guy looks like in the eyes of a retiree. Evidently he's deaf, but a veteran, and he must be handy—but is he only attractive because he's handy? My mom used to say there's nothing more attractive than a man who is willing to work without issue. Then again, maybe he's like Harrison Ford and manages to stay young because of a certain rugged handsomeness and a lot of personality.

Only the door opens up and I'm wrong about it all.

About fifty years wrong.

"You're the dreamboat?" I blurt out.

Do You Plan or Go With the Flow? #newreleasealert

7/19/2021

Picture
Are you a planner? Going on vacation, you make a list so you don't forget anything. Heading to the store? You've gone through coupons and have a list of things you need. Meeting someone? You check on the route and confirm the time.

I'm a planner. I think (agonize) about things before I do them. I plan for any contingencies and have back up plans, just in case. When something doesn't go according to plan, I'm a wreck. Changes or unknowns can send my blood pressure spiking.

Catherine Peace's latest release PART OF HER PLAN has a character much like me. She's got a plan to reach her goal. She's focused and determined. She can't slip up! It'd cost her everything. BUT when she receives a mysterious invitation, it leads to someone who wasn't a part of her plan.

Blurb:
An invitation to Cupid’s Café will change your life.
Lydia Rossi has The Plan all figured out. A great job at Louisville’s fastest-rising tattoo shop, a place of her own, and putting her heroin addiction behind her once and for all. So far, everything fits perfectly into the safety-focused life she’s created, though she can’t forget the one woman who made her want more.

Jenny Sloane’s sole focus is on convincing her brother to let her come home. She’s deceived him into thinking she’s clean, but the truth is—she likes the way she feels when she drinks. If it takes a few white lies to make it happen, she will lie until the cows come home. She doesn’t need anyone, except family.

A note from Cupid’s Café reunites Lydia with her former therapy groupmate Jenny, sparking attraction, but a new complication arises when Jenny moves into the same transitional living house with Lydia. Jenny’s presence threatens to unravel Lydia’s plan, and for the first time Jen’s family-only focus wavers. One moment and one mistake is all it’d take to destroy their futures, but the chemistry between them is undeniable. No strings attached becomes tangled. Can a relationship be part of The Plan after all?

                                                        ~~~~~
Welcome to Cupid's Café, a place where missed connections meet. How the invitations find them, no one knows…except for the mysterious owner, Mr. Heart.
This multi-author series focuses on protagonists struggling with real-life issues that often get swept under the rug. With Cupid’s Café, these issues find representation in the characters struggling to conquer their own problems while trying to carve a future for themselves.
From cops to artists, or social workers to photographers, Mr. Heart ensures these lost souls who believe themselves undeserving of love reconnect with their fated match.
Each couple embarks on their journey at Cupid’s Cafe, but the rest is up to them: whether damage wins or they find true love in the end.
EXCERPT:
Lydia checked her watch. Her “date” should have been there ten minutes ago, and though it tried, the feeling of disappointment failed to break through the barrier the café created. Every so often, the barista glanced her way, offered a sweet but wan smile, and continued on. The ethereal music drifting through the speakers kept her heartbeat steady.
She could handle just hanging out at the coffee bar if not for the invitation burning a hole through her back pocket.
“This is stupid,” she muttered. “You’re not ready.”
The barista eyeballed her again, a disapproving pout on her full lips.
After a few more sips, Lydia pushed the cup away. “Thank you.”
“Are you sure you can’t stay a little longer?”
She smiled. “Sorry. Early morning.”
“Please, just a little longer.” Something in her voice compelled Lydia to stay put.
Okay…
Almost by magic, another latte appeared on the counter.
Lydia chuckled. “I’m not going to sleep tonight.”
With a wink, the barista said, “Maybe that’s the point.”
Lydia eyeballed the pretty blonde and took another sip. Once again, the peacefulness overtook her. Coffee wasn’t supposed to be soothing like this.
Maybe that was the con: her one true love was coffee.
More time passed and the bottom of the mug showed its face. The barista pouted at the empty cup.
“Coffee’s too good,” Lydia said with a grin, but in truth, it was the best she’d ever had. “Don’t worry. I’ll come back.”
“I know.” She winked again.
As Lydia stood and shrugged into her coat, the bell over the door chirped. Time stopped. The café changed to a small room, a sketchbook, and the entrance of an eighteen-year-old spitfire. Except she’d grown up over the last ten years. “Holy shit,” Lydia said. “Jenny Sloane.”
Awkward Interruption #Romance #newrelease
7/5/2021
Picture
Have you ever been in a sexy, intimate moment when someone interrupted you? Maybe mom walked in on your heavy make out session with your high school boyfriend? Or did your neighbor knock on the door when you were getting busy in the living room?
Author Mindy McKinley won't tell us if a moment like that actually happened to her but she included one in her latest release- REMEMBER ME. You can literally feel the heat on the page only to have a dash of cold water tossed on the couple.
EXCERPT:
“Amy.” He drew her eyes with his commanding tone. “Come here.”
She shook her head. “What? I don’t … I mean, I’m already here.”
“No.” Jake patted his lap. “I mean come here.”
“But,” she argued, blushing bright pink and biting the lip he desperately wanted to nibble on. If he were mobile, he would have swept her off her feet and bent her backward with the most epic kiss he’d ever given. Followed closely thereafter by a caveman over-the-shoulder throw onto the bed.
“It will make me feel better”—he patted his thighs—“if you sit on my lap.”
Amy pursed her lips for a second but then let out a sigh. Muttering as if he had asked her to paint his house, she came around the coffee table and stood in front of him, not knowing exactly what he wanted. He reached out and grabbed her by the waist, guided her in front of him, coaxing her into a straddling position over his lap.
“See.” He sighed as her body sank into his. “Isn’t this better? Instead of you being way over there.”
Amy settled onto him, but she was stiff and unsure, her back perfectly straight. “Relax.” He drew a hand up her neck and to her cheek. When she softened into him, he dove his fingers into her hair and pulled her down for a kiss.
“I haven’t brushed my teeth,” she squeaked, trying to stop him.
“I don’t fucking care.” He growled and took all of her arguments away by searing his hungry mouth to hers. Her original protest melted into compliance, and in a matter of moments, her body was pressing fully against his, her tongue tangling deliciously with his own.
Jake moaned when she slipped her hands across his body, exploring his abs, his shoulders, and back. She let out a sigh of pure ecstasy when he brushed the thumb of his free hand lightly over the bead of her hard nipple. God, he wanted her, wanted to bury himself in her sweetness and never come up for air. He was hardening against her, and instead of scaring her away, she seemed to take pleasure in it, grinding her hips into him as if she, too, wanted release.
Jake was just about to slip his fingers under that fucking tank top, just about to reach the promised land he’d dreamt about for weeks, when he heard the front door open and heavy footsteps come up the hallway.
Amy froze, and with a squeak, jumped off his lap so fast that she fell right on her face.
“Oh my God.” Zach came into the room with a shit-eating grin on his face. He was clearly amused as Amy scrambled to her feet. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t know you had company.”
Awkward, right? Be honest... you chuckled a little too! REMEMBER ME is a standalone romance but it is enjoyed more if you have read the rest of the Baxter Boys series. After all, who wouldn't love a family of sexy and hot hunks?
Blurb:
A night she’ll never forget. A night he wishes he could remember.
High School librarian, Amy Foster is a heartbreaker. After having her heart crushed in college, she has stuck to a strict ‘love them and leave them’ policy that works surprisingly well until her most disastrous one-night-stand waltzes into her school during a college fair. Hot and arrogant, with a body of a god, Jake Baxter seems determined to break down her walls. Too bad he doesn’t remember they’ve already met.
Jake Baxter loves two things, baseball and librarians. He’s got the first wrapped up as a recruiter for the baseball team at the University of Illinois, but he’s yet to find the librarian of his dreams. When he runs smack into one at an East High college fair, Amy Foster is everything he ever wanted. Only trouble is, she swears they’ve met before and he finds himself desperately trying to make up for a night he doesn’t remember at all.
Can he convince her that he’s worth taking a second chance?
