I love being able to share books that I've read and enjoyed. I couldn't stop snickering when I read these books and am excited to see what happens next!

Worst Week Ever
By Liza O’Connor

Blurb:
What do you get when you put a hardworking, can-do middle-class young woman together with a egotistical, outrageous, billionaire boss, then throw in the worst week of disasters imaginable?

Book 1 of the 3 book series A Long Road to Love, named Worst Week Ever.

Trent Lancaster spends one month without his Executive Assistant (or as his drivers refers to Carrie: 'Trent's brain, left hand, and right hand'. He's had a miserable month without her at his side and to ensure it never happens again, he intends to marry this brilliant beauty. Only given all the times he's threatened to fire her, he's not sure she even likes him. However, the future of his company and his happiness depend upon him succeeding, so Trent begins a slow one week seduction, that happens to coincide with Carrie Hanson's Worst Week Ever when everything that can go wrong does so in hilarious form. (Hilarious to the reader, Carrie is not having much fun this week.)

Review:

Carrie is a likeable character who puts up with a lot because she sees the best in everyone. She’s kind, caring and unpretentious. Her sweet nature draws others to want to help her or fall for her.

Trent is pretentious and full of himself. He’s an uncaring playboy who finds out that he can’t run his company without Carrie. But when he begins to finally see her as who she is, he falls for her. Can he become the man for her?

The secondary characters steal the show! I love Joey, Mars and Sam. They all deserve their own stories! Each of them have a soft spot for Carrie (after all she’s hard not to love) and want to help her. Yet, they all get caught up in her Worst Week!

Ms. O’Connor writes a hilarious tale of misadventures that seem outrageous yet are real-life. She pulls readers into Carrie’s life and has them cheering for Trent to change. As the first book in the series, A Long Road to Love, I’m dying to see what happens next!

I recommend this read to anyone who loves a story filled with misadventures and comedic relief. A disaster story that features memorable characters that will have you cheering for them to succeed!

Oh Stupid Heart
By Liza O’Connor

Blurb:
Carrie Hanson is in love with a different species: Trent, a pampered, uber-rich socialite who’s also her boss. Everyone keeps telling her it’s a train wreck looking to happen, but her heart wants what it wants. So despite the billion and one reasons not to, Carrie commits to this inter-species relationship. But while she's off being trained for her new job responsibilities, a beautiful ex fiancée is working hard to get Trent back and Carrie fired.

My Review:
Carrie and Trent have finally admitted their feelings but the road to love is never smooth. Jealousy and insecurities are a part of any relationship but when couples are as different as Trent and Carrie, it’s bound to happen. Not to mention, it seems like the world is out to get them…or at least Trent’s ex-fiance!

Oh Stupid Heart is the second book in the Long Road to Love series and continues the wacky relationship that began in Worst Week Ever. I loved how caring and sweet Carrie is. She is more than willing to put up with just about anything, yet remains true to her moral compass. Trent has improved a bunch since the first book but still has a way to go. He doesn’t have a filter when he’s angry.

Ms. O’Connor writes a fun story that engages the reader and keeps them laughing with the wacky events that happen. I like how Trent has changed but I still worry that Carrie is putting more into this relationship than he is. Although I love how she’s developing a backbone with Trent and not letting him or others run her over.

I'm looking forward to the rest of this series!
