Today we are celebrating our second Thanksgiving dinner with my in-laws. *Gosh I'm going to be fat from all this yummy food.* I have been fortunate that my in-laws have always accommodated my need to be in Ohio for Thanksgiving dinner (or brunch as the case may be) with my dad and sisters. I even got to visit the cemetery with the strains of Amazing Grace blasting from the speakers (DH and son decided that was fitting). I'm feeling really reflective today as we continue into the holiday season. I love the warmth from everyone this time of year. It seems like old mistakes are forgiven and forgotten. Families come together and friends celebrate joyously.
I have a lot to be thankful for this year. It has almost been a year since I found out that I was going to be published. With the first contract signed, my dreams became a reality. I've found some wonderful supporters who help me keep my feet grounded yet allow me to reach for the stars. I'm also very thankful for the many opportunities I've had this year as I took classes to improve my writing or interview some of my favorite authors! Yes, we are also fans and even *squee* on occasion. I'm thankful for the people (*hint-hubby and kids) in my life who show me the love that they do and allow me to do what I love- write! But this is also a time of reflection for me as I remember my mom and miss her more than ever this year. I know she'd be proud of my accomplishments- with the loudest rally cry! I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday season, no matter what celebrations you have. The most important part of life is being happy and being loved. :) Comments are closed.
