Taking Care of Animals #NewRelease #newRomance

Animals are such a part of our lives. They bring us comfort and brighten our days. I can't imagine how my life would be without them. At one point, I wanted to work with animals but I quickly learned it was tougher than I thought. To be with the animals at their worst and at the end of their lives was more than I could handle.

The heroine in Mindy McKinley's latest release is stronger than me. She is training to be a veterinarian. She's determined to not let anything get in her way. Even a sexy guy like Luke Baxter.

Now available in ebook and print, SHELTER ME begins another sexy series by contemporary author, Mindy McKinley. Get your copy today!

Blurb:
Photographing pets may be the way into her heart….but this veterinarian-in-training is determined not to let a man derail her life.
Studying to be a veterinarian, vet tech Jenna Howard has little time for anything other than school and her work at Chicago Pet Rescue shelter. With no support to fall back on and a mother who is determined to pull her down, Jenna can’t afford to step out of line. Even a night of promised adventure from the hottest bachelor in town isn’t enough to pull her out of her routine.
Newly famous photographer Luke Baxter finds himself enjoying his role as the most eligible bachelor in Chicago. But when he wanders into Chicago Pet Rescue to shoot a fund-raising calendar, and meets the adorably feisty Jenna Howard, everything changes. He’s gotten so used to ‘yes’ that Jenna’s ‘no’ takes him by surprise. Suddenly she’s all he can think about. She’s gorgeous, smart, impossibly difficult to read, and he’ll do almost anything—even adopt a puppy—to make her realize that taking a chance on him doesn’t have to mean giving up on her dreams.
Can he convince her that life isn’t worth living without a little fun?

EXCERPT
Jenna turned around and struggled to find her voice. “I’m sure I’ll be fine,” she assured him, meeting his eyes. He was still so close, and her body was fighting to get closer. She longed to press up against the length of him. And for just a fraction of a second, she could see the desire in his eyes, the quiver of his lips as he considered kissing her.

She wished he would.

Not breaking eye contact, Luke reached up and ran his fingers across her cheek and down under her chin, so lightly it made her gasp. “You’re sure you’re okay?” he asked, tilting her head up slightly.

“Yes,” Jenna breathed, her heart thundering. She felt like the room was spinning. What was he waiting for? “I’m sure.”

The corner of Luke’s mouth turned up in a roguish smile, and she felt her stomach clench at the thought of finally tasting his lips.

But Scooter had other plans. Tired of being ignored, he barked loudly, making both of them jump. Scooter, she groaned inwardly. He had a knack for bad timing.
