Welcome to the Secret Cravings Winter Wonderland Blog Event! It's not just a blog hop, but a big event! This event will go on for fifteen days. My post will be up for one day only and I will pick my winner for my site on Jan. 16th. But THE BIG CONTEST (scavenger hunt) will go for the full fifteen days with prizes like an IPAD, Kindle HD and Amazon or B&N gift cards.

To enter and WIN the big contest, you have to find the matching snow image from above with a single letter in it. I've hidden it on my website somewhere. You will collect the letters from all the different Secret Craving blog hop sites and email reviewcoordinator@secretcravingspublishing.com with your answers to be eligible to win the IPAD, Kindle HD, or Gift Cards.

I'm giving away a copy of Chalkboard Romance to one lucky person who leaves a comment on my blog about their favorite teacher.  What did you like about the teacher and why?  After all, Lauren from Chalkboard Romance is a teacher (and so am I).
Picture
Lauren Walsh, a divorcee and elementary teacher, wanted to feel sexy again, after her ex tossed her aside for a younger woman. Her teaching partner and best friend encouraged her to sign up for The Playhouse--a renowned dating agency.

Mac Thomas remained trapped in a marriage to a money grubbing socialite. Forced to stay away from his young son, Mac lost the ability to trust. After the death of his wife, he returned to care for his son but his sister wants more for him. She sets him up with The Playhouse. Passion ignites but Mac’s a parent of one of Lauren’s students.

A teacher and a parent dating could cost Lauren her job and her chance at happiness. Will Mac be able to convince the school and Lauren, that love is the most important thing?

My favorite teacher was actually my high school AP English teacher Mrs.S . She allowed for more in depth and adult analysis of books than any other teacher I ever had. She was awesome.

My favorite teacher was coach Heavner. He was my history teacher and later became a great friend! He always made you laugh but ran a strict class!
Wow your books look hot! Thanks for the chance to win!

Thank you Kim. Teachers who are strict have a way of managing the class so everyone learns!

My favorite teacher was my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Arrowsmith. She took the whole class to see Mary Poppins at the movies when it came out. She made learning fun. Years later when I was working, I saw her again in a drugstore I was working at and was able to tell her how much she meant to me when I was in her class and that I have never forgotten her. She said she remembered me too, because when she would play the record, yes record lol, when " I love to laugh would come on, I laughed so hard I was crying. There was a boy I liked that made it worse too. She also remembered him. Lol. Sorry didn't mean to write a book lol

Deborah, it sounds like you have a wonderful memory of a special teacher. When you touch a teacher's heart and they touch yours, each of you take away a lifetime memory. I still remember my students. In fact, this year I have a child of one of my first year students. Yikes!

My favorite teacher was my 4th grade teacher Mrs. Lavin, she was strict, but she made learning so much fun, she has always been the one teacher that I look back fondly on.

I enjoy making engaging lessons. The struggle for me is that with 20+ children, what is engaging for one isn't always for another. I have to sometimes do a tap-dance with a cat on my head to keep everyone's attention! Thanks for visiting!

my favorite teacher was my 5th grade teacher I loved her so much, she took her time and made sure we understood before she moved on to the next subject

I think that is a great teacher. Too bad that most schools require us to cover a lot of different content so it's just skimmed rather than in depth.

My favorite teacher was my Latin teacher for two years in high school. And guess what...I didn't need or want to take Latin...I just wanted HER for a teacher. She taught third track English and 4 classes of Latin a day. I met her just from walking in every morning and knew I wanted her for a teacher. She was absolutely amazing! The most caring and kind teacher I ever had and always had time for any student for whatever reason!

Thanks for being part of the hop!

Mac's quote about winning the characters heart is to die for! My favorite teachers (of which there are several), were those that saw Me and let the students see Them. What I mean to say is they were someone you knew you could talk to and trust, beyond the pages or content they were teaching. They shared about their lives, and truly cared about their students. levanmichelle@yahoo.com

I realize that I am too late for the giveaway. I was reading and thinking about the best teacher I have had. It was at University and I had to take Algebra for one of the gen ed. I had struggled with this subject throughout high school and had put it off until the end of University. I was a returning student so I had not had a math class in almost 20 years.

My teacher was just starting to teach after being one of the scientists who developed the Apollo rockets for Nassa. My university used professionals (not necessarily 'teachers' to instruct the students). The man had always wanted to teach and this was a dream come true for him now that he had retired. He was terrific. He taught in simple terms and gave concrete examples of using the formulas and methods. He told us all straight up that everyone would pass that wanted to. We had a quiz every day and a test once a week. If we didn't get the score we wanted, we could take the test as many times as we needed. He gave us all his contact numbers and was available for questions anytime day or night. He was available certain hours for extra help.

In short he didn't care so much about the assignments, his goal was that everyone (we all had struggled with this subject at one time or another) learn the subject and value of the course. Thus, some took the tests multiple times but in the end everyone understood and learned. I will always remember him. He taught me more than algebra, he taught me to continue to strive and not give up, to believe in myself and not rely on just one way of doing something but to explore other ways of learning. To break things down to the elemental and build up to the complex. I learned how to believe in those I influenced and support them. He was a TEACHER.

Hi! I had a few favorite teachers. One tho was my high school art teacher. I took her class for 4 years. She is amazing. She encouraged my artistic side, helped me when i needed it, she was also really awesome about letting me come hang out in her class during other periods or after school when i needed to escape. I could talk to her, ask her for anything. She looked out for her students. She was very relateable. I definitely say shes my favorite. Thank you for sharing! Thank you for being apart of this fantastic hunt! Have a great day!
