Forbidden Love...it sounds trite. Falling for someone you weren't supposed to. But even great classics like Romeo and Juliet feature a love that shouldn't happen.

There is something amazing about falling in love with someone who is unlike anyone else, or falling in love with someone who is an enemy of your family. But what about falling in love with someone who doesn't exist?

Vanessa Garden's new release WILD ROSE features a romance between two people who come from different backgrounds. The hero isn't even acknowledged but hidden away. This young adult romance will have you turning the pages long after your bedtime.

Now available in ebook and print, you'll want to pick up a copy of WILD ROSE for yourself or the reader in your life!

Blurb:
When sixteen-year-old Iris Howard is sent to live with her estranged great-aunt at Howard Hall, nothing can prepare her for what she discovers.

At the stunning estate, she is offered a life of both security and luxury. But all is not as it seems at Howard Hall, home to the infamous Rose Garden Massacre in 1974.

When Iris starts to see glimpses of a boy in the attic, in the hedge maze, and in the beautiful rose gardens, she begins to question her sanity. Is he the handsome ghost of a tortured soul bound by the home’s dark past, or is he real?

Sleeping secrets are awakened when Iris discovers that indeed the mystery boy exists, despite her aunt pretending that he doesn’t.

Iris is soon swept into a forbidden romance with a boy she shouldn’t love, while still yearning for her old life, which can never be.

EXCERPT:
I sucked in a steadying breath and put my hand on the doorknob. The floorboards creaked on the other side of it. Whoever was in there was standing on the other side of the door.

My heart drummed against my chest.

Mary was long gone, leaving me and my aunt alone in this big house.

What the hell was I doing?

I turned and ran, stumbling down the stairs, and in my haste, twisted my ankle. Collapsing onto a step, I swore, waiting for my aunt to come out and yell at me, but her rooms remained dark and silent.

I winced as I got to my feet, my ankle throbbing, and started to hobble my way back to my room.

The attic light came on again. Which could only mean one thing.

“Don’t go. Please,” he said.

I froze, my heart near exploding in my chest. “Please, Iris. I won’t hurt you,” said the deep voice coming from upstairs, from behind me.

I should have run.

But I couldn’t help myself. Something in the voice. It wasn’t a threat. It was a gentle pleading. I slowly turned, hopping on one foot, my knuckles bulging as I gripped the railing. That was when I saw him.

The staircase started to spin.

“Heathcliff,” I whispered.

Before everything turned black.
