I love the idea of an adventure but I'm not really an adventure girl. I don't like camping out with the bugs and snakes. My little silver bullet trailer is perfect for me. We've visited all over the state of Michigan and while I've never even used the shower or toilet in the trailer...it's nice to know that it is there should I need to. I'm also not very adventurous when it comes to food either. I like to stick with some of my family recipes to my husband's sad stomach. He loves my cooking but isn't a big fan of my family foods from Sour Cream Kuchen to Dilly Beans. I think that's because I'm from Ohio and he keeps saying that things in Ohio were mighty different than in Michigan. While that might be true, I've learned to play Euchre and point to my hand when I'm giving directions. *grin* Maybe he just doesn't have my Ohio palette. So maybe the word adventurous is a bit of a stretch when you describe me...Or maybe it's that my sense of adventure is a little different than other people's. I do love to race my car, or even hang outside the passenger door window when someone is driving really fast! I also love to play with fire. The feeling and sight of a flame running down my arm is so exciting...the blue flame moving across my skin, watching it disappear...*sigh* But my favorite adventure is curling up with a good book and reading about some cowboys, bad boys, and feisty women who really know what adventure is! What's your favorite adventure?? Please leave a comment about your wild adventures and be sure to visit the other stops on the blog hop. Not too adventurous myself - love to travel but also love 5 star hotels.

The hotel was the only way that I used to travel. Having my own little home away from home has changed my mind! Thanks for stopping by! 12/4/2014 01:05:14 am
I live my adventures vicariously through my writing! I can be as wild as I wanna be from the safety of my keyboard. I know, I'm a wuss. And I'm okay with that!

I think that traveling within books is my favorite way to live adventures. I can travel to the future and hang with shifters and vampires! When I was young and wild, I was very adventurous. I tried everything food wise when I traveled to other countries, and I tried anything that was new. The one thing I regret not getting a chance to do was hang gliding. lol Or, jumping out of a plane with a parachute! Too old and fragile now.

Sandy, my mom jumped out of planes. She loved it and also had her own motorcycle. I still think of myself as a wuss because I'm not adventurous like her. I think that we will all have regrets but I'm not sure I'll regret the physical things I didn't do, but the time I spent working at a job I don't love anymore! 12/4/2014 01:41:07 am
I've been adventurous most of my life. The only thing I'm not adventurous with is with food. My hubby says I'm boring when it comes to foods.

I am not really adventurous with food or with activities. Why does your hubby say you're boring with food? Favorites should be what we choose!

Hi, Melissa! I love your little trailer and thought it would be fun to have one. As for adventurous side: I'll say to Handsome: when else will we get a chance to do that? So we've climbed some tall peaks, ziplined over canyons, etc. I don't mind one bit. As for cooking--not adventurous at all.
Melissa

Thanks Vicki. It is nice to have a home away from home! You wouldn't believe how many books I've read inside it! You are much more adventurous than I am... :) 12/4/2014 02:26:22 am
On our first trips out west we always camped, once for three weeks! I guess that was the most adventurous thing I've ever done, except for when I bought a horse with some of my writing money. On our trip last summer, we didn't camp once, so maybe I've lost some of my adventurous nature, but maybe next trip. I love your trailer!
Melissa

Thanks Lucy! I think that camping out west would be fun, but I get so tired of the clean up when we get home! Our trailer is perfect to avoid the clean up! You just put clothes and food in and go! Then empty when you get home!

It's a toss up between hanggliding and whitewater rafting, but to be honest, I mostly hike now.

You have such a wonderful hiking companion these days. Jess is a sweetie!

Has she been visiting you for food? I had to serve her eggs today. 12/4/2014 05:01:19 am
Years ago, too much. Now not so crazy. I do tell young men age 15-30 to call their mothers. My husband tells people with small children in strollers, 'They'll never call.'

I've not heard of it Rohn. I'm glad you have a wonderful husband! :) Thank you for coming by! 12/4/2014 06:19:02 am
Yes, I'm adventurous up to a point. I love to travel, and this February I'm off to Antarctica via Argentina. But at my age, I take tours, and don't "go it alone" like I used to unless it's a country and language I'm already familiar with. I use these adventures as inspiration for my novels..
Melissa

R. Ann... I will live vicariously through you! I don't travel much at all, esp. out of the state. Maybe someday! 12/4/2014 07:05:08 am
My most adventurous gig was finding the nerve to strip down to my thong to get my first Violet Wand treatment as part of our curriculum of the first BDSM Writers Con. Hoo-boy did that turn out spectacular! I've done a lot of BDSM research since then....and loved it! Oh, I've also used that research in my most recent books. Can you say *hot*?

Thank you Kristen. You can come camp with us any time! 12/4/2014 07:51:25 am
Probably wildest was this summer, working at Vicksburg National Military Park doing living history. Loved blowing the cannon off everyday - explosives too much fun!
Melissa

Now you are talking about my kind of fun! Blowing off a cannon! How do you get such a wonderful job??

I think I write romantic adventure because I live vicariously through my characters! I'm not much of an adventurer either :)

You have some dangerous characters! I can imagine you have some incredible adventures! Thanks for stopping by Jennifer!

I agree about the fear of heights. I didn't ride on my first plane until I was 18. I also wouldn't do it alone until I was sooooo much older! :) 12/4/2014 11:23:33 am
I love traveling, but I've never been very adventurous. I love riding on the back of the Harley and going on road trips with my husband. We've been all over the country.

I'm not terribly adventurous, but like today, we spent all day walking in the woods looking for two missing horses!

D'Ann, you are an adventurous girl! I couldn't do all you do with your animals on those snowy days! I'm in awe of you!

I live an adventurous life through my characters. I'm not a camper--hate bugs and snakes, too--although I gritted my teeth and camped with my Girl Scout Troop. Had to set a good example, right?
Melissa
12/5/2014 12:29:31 pm
Maybe someday Diane, my one girl scout camp trip will make it into a book! We camped across the street from my house in the quarries and it was one of the worst nights I ever spent camping. :) 12/4/2014 02:01:12 pm
My dad volunteered as a Baja bush pilot while I was growing up, so I had plenty of adventures until my junior high years. I don't travel as much as I'd like these days, my adventures stem from day-to-day living with two teenage boys, cowboy husband, and a ranch full of onery critters.
Melissa
12/5/2014 02:31:09 pm
Maybe you got a bunch of adventures out of your system! Although if you have a cowboy hubby, you probably still have some wonderful adventures! I'm jealous!!
Melissa

I don't swim with the fishes. Good thing that they don't like chlorine. Of course, there aren't any good rapids in swimming pools so I'm basically not adventurous!!

I'm not too adventurous, though I'm willing to travel to new places and eat new foods (like when visiting my husband's family in India). I get most of my adventures through reading and writing, just the way I like it.
Melissa
12/5/2014 02:42:12 pm
The worst that can happen to me in an adventurous book is to get a paper cut... I'm sure that won't kill me! *grin*

Not very adventurous, do like traveling out west and hiking.
Melissa
12/5/2014 02:44:02 pm
Out west would be a nice trip! We did a bunch of walking up and down the Vegas strip one year, do you think that counts?? It was really hot... 12/5/2014 01:33:56 am
I don't like camping either, Melissa :D Bugs and I just don't get along. But when it comes to food...I'm pretty ballsy. I love quad biking, volunteering at lion parks, and having random road trips. When it comes to reading...growly shifters and aliens are my thing. Enjoyed reading your post! x
Melissa
12/5/2014 02:45:25 pm
Gaeille, I want to volunteer at a lion park! Did you get to pet the kitty? Once I wanted to marry Jack Hanna of the Columbus Zoo and The Tonight Show... but sadly he was married and I was only after his animals, not really in love with him! 12/5/2014 04:05:32 am
Since I live abroad, I do tend to travel often, but nothing more strenuous then packing a bag and flying--LOL. Great post.
Melissa
12/5/2014 02:41:30 pm
Georgia... living abroad is an adventure... You have to learn to live without your favorite food or drinks! And then there's the lines at the airports.. Don't get me started!! :) 12/7/2014 02:46:22 am
My favorite adventure was as a kid while a group of us were wandering the woods looking for adventure, we came upon what looked like a dead body. After much bruhaha it turned out to be a stuffed red herring, but for a while it really had us going. That was the same night as the alligator...but no, that's another tale. http://flossiebentonrogers.com

The woods were my playground as well. We had forts and homes there where we could become Charlie's Angels or anything we dreamed of!
