Even in the dead of winter, love will find a way to blossom.

Maxwell Harris is restless. Working as a pastry chef for over a decade has been amazing, but he wants more than that, he wants to find his someone special. On his way to visit family back in England for the holidays, a once in a lifetime snowstorm has Max finding just that in the form of the beautiful innkeeper who offers him shelter.

Lucy Shaw has had a rough year. After her mother’s passing, she’s all alone and dreading the holiday season more than anything, but with an annual gingerbread event at her inn looming, she needs to get back into the Christmas spirit, and fast. Luckily for her, a handsome pastry chef is trapped at the inn with her, and Max offers her much more than a little help with a biscuit recipe.

As the two shelter from the storm, they share the aches from their pasts and their hopes for the future, but once the skies clear, will what they feel for each other clear up as well?

Return to Sunset Cove with author, Sydney Scott as she weaves a holiday tale that romances the season. Fans of Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist by Codi Hall or The Christmas Letters by Jenny Proctor will find a new favorite romance in LET IT SNOW.

EXCERPT:
Max smiled. “So, taking in strays runs in the family?” he jested, giving himself a little mental pat on the back when her melodic laughter reached his ears.

“I suppose you could call it that. At first, they offered room and board in exchange for help around the Inn or some other kind of trade if people didn’t quite have the money to pay. After a few years, people started to pay cash and the business grew, with some coming to stay while they visited the countryside or traveled through on their way further north. And then there’s the ginger biscuits, of course.”

Max raised a brow as he finished chewing his bite of bacon. “Ginger biscuits? I think Brent mentioned something about that last night.” He looked down at his plate as if one of the aforementioned treats would appear there out of thin air, but none did.

Lucy smiled at him over her tea cup as she took a sip. “Of course, he did. Brent is always the first one to brag about this place.” She nodded toward his plate. “I don’t have any for you now, but every year on Christmas Eve, the Inn opens its doors to the town and anyone who wants to wander in, decorate a biscuit and enjoy a spot of tea for the holidays.” She looked around the small kitchen wistfully before meeting his gaze again. “It’s all a part of the history of this place, letting the town gather here at least one day a year. And it’s up to me now to keep it going.”

Her smile faltered when she finished and her eyes looked shiny with unshed moisture. The sight of her in distress caused an ache to form in Max’s chest. Feeling something so intensely for someone so quickly startled him, but the sense of wonder that followed washed away his skepticism.

Best-selling author, Isobel Reed brings readers back to Woodvalley Pines where small town firefighters set hearts ablaze. Fans of Elsie Silver’s Powerless and Lucy Score’s Protecting What’s Mine will swoon for Isobel Reed’s firefighter heroes and the feisty women who go toe-to-toe with them. Hitched is a second chance romance where two high school sweethearts are thrown back into each other’s lives after a decade apart.

Old flames burn the hottest, but can they survive the heat?
It was safe to say Bethany Mayer was questioning her life choices as she stuffed four layers of her tulle wedding dress into her ex-boyfriend’s pickup truck. She thought she had it all figured out. Move home to Woodvalley Pines. Marry her long-term boyfriend. Open her own medical practice. But one day, one decision, changed her life forever. Now, instead of being the talk of the town for her superior skills as a doctor, she’s the subject of the small town’s unhinged rumor mill.

Being his ex’s getaway driver as she ditches her own wedding wasn’t exactly how firefighter, Benny, thought his day was going to go. He’d actually been counting on finally getting some closure after a decade apart. This had to be the complete opposite of that, right? Now his first and only love was back in town and suddenly single. Never mind the deranged rumors flying around town about her runaway bride stunt, he was more scared of the truth. And the kind of trouble he was about to get into now he knows she’s sticking around.

It’s not only their shared past that’s unravelling as Benny and Bethany struggle to fight the spark that still burns bright. The flames may never die—but can love rise from the wreckage they left behind?

Don't Miss any of the Heat!!

About the Author-
Isobel was born and raised in London. While she’s a city girl at heart, she loves daydreaming about running away to a charming small town—though she’s not entirely sure her husband and son would share her enthusiasm for the move. When she’s not writing small-town romantic comedies or growing unhealthily attached to the characters in her books, you can find her reading, chasing after her very active toddler, or attempting to channel her inner domestic goddess in the kitchen (with varying degrees of success).

Known for her witty dialogue and swoon-worthy small-town heroes, Isobel signed with Inkspell Publishing in 2021. The following year, she released Love Tools, the first book in her four-book Bluestone Series. In early 2024, she launched Toasted, the debut novel of her seven-book Love Burns Series, which will roll out over the next year.
