Dreams of Stardom! #coverreveal #bostonstrong

2/15/2024

Picture
At ten years old, I had dreams of being a rock star. I used to create my own costumes and would lip sync to songs from our jukebox or records. Sometimes, I'd toss in some fine dance moves as we put on the shows for my parents.

As a teacher, I had many students who had dreams of being the next sports star or Hollywood leading man. They saw how exciting it was to be on the big screen.

Author Lorelei Henderson has two characters from her latest book- TO PLAY FOR LOVE- who shared those dreams that my students and I had.

Cassandra and Michael both dreamed of being on the big screen. For her as an actress and for him as a writer. Their shared dreams were the foundation for their high school friendship. When they meet up, years later, they see that those dreams aren't maybe as shiny as they thought but what is clear--they have more than friendship on their minds.

TO PLAY FOR LOVE is up for preorder and will be released on March 19th. Don't Miss Your Chance to Own this Captivating Romance!

Blurb:
A struggling actress must decide between Hollywood success or a hometown love…Especially when her heart is on the line.

Cassandra Chaletaine worked hard to catch her break in Tinsel Town but she’s struggling because of her race, talent or plain bad luck. She returns home to Boston for her father’s retirement party and to re-evaluate her career.

While touring a new theatre in her old neighborhood, she literally bumped into her old friend and former Hollywood writer, Michael Kiley. They’d always had much in common, both being bi-racial and shared dreams of Hollywood success.

After finding Hollywood lacking, Michael fled to give back to his hometown. He was delighted to see Cassandra, having always been in love with her but too afraid to risk their friendship. Now that she was back in Boston, the love he’d harbored for years, blooms.

Cassandra falls hard for Michael too, but she’s pulled between her life in Hollywood and the one in her hometown. When her agent calls with her dream break, Cassandra has to make the biggest decision of her life— would it be Hollywood or Love?

TO PLAY FOR LOVE is great for fans of Elin Hilderbrand’s novels. Many of her novels are about family, it’s the foundational theme and TO PLAY FOR LOVE is all about family and hometown love. Additionally, fans of Jasmine Guillory’s wonderful novels will also love TO PLAY FOR LOVE. Ms. Guillory’s characters are fully fleshed out people with tremendously relatable storylines that her readers love, just as they will love Cassandra, Michael and all the people that make up their lives.

Author Kellie Wallace has written a story that hits all the right notes. There's an independent heroine who is nursing her broken heart with a big move. She finds the chance to start over as a blessing. Who wouldn't love an opportunity to live along the coast?? She even meets a mysterious man who leads her broken heart to heal... But things aren't all that they seem.

BEFORE I LET YOU GO is now available in ebook and print. It's a wonderful story from start to finish. If you are looking for a little more reason to buy... see the blurb and excerpt below.

Blurb:
A remote island concealed the perfect murder, now one woman must help an Earthbound spirit solve the mystery before the killer comes for her.

After rejecting her boyfriend’s proposal, Elsbeth heals her broken heart by accepting an inheritance from a long-lost relative off the coast of Guernsey.

She embraces the chance to start over, living in a remote cottage surrounded by gray seals and crystal waters. But this new idyll may not be what it seems when mysterious stranger Bishop threatens to upturn her new life. He is handsome, mystical, and claims to be an angel searching for his bones.

As Elsbeth and Bishop grow closer, she discovers her island escape is marked by darkness, a double murder haunts the halls. She embarks on a journey to uncover her property’s dark secrets, unravelling a history that may hold the key to Bishop’s fractured past. Will Elsbeth sacrifice everything she’s built to unearth the truth? She must confront her own demons and make a heartbreaking decision that will change her life forever.

Readers of The Ghosts of Rue Dumaine by Alexandrea Weis and Winter Cottage by Mary Ellen Taylor will enjoy this tale of redemption and new beginnings.

EXCERPT:
Bars of fractured moonlight cast across the floor, seemingly passing through the figure.

Elsbeth craned her neck to see better and sucked in a breath when she recognized the man standing under the ethereal light. “Bishop.”

He swung his head to the side and smiled, his teeth shining bright. His beauty took her breath away. His eyes were ageless and clear, with gold and sea-green specks. His sweet aroma of birch and lavender intoxicated her, warping her sense of reality as it lingered in the air. Her drumming heart drowned out the ocean’s roar.

“Don’t be scared,” Bishop whispered. “I won’t hurt you.”

Elsbeth struggled to find her voice. “What are you doing?” She approached him with tentative steps.

“I’m admiring the full moon,” Bishop explained. “Once a month, it aligns perfectly in this window. I like to watch it move across the sky.”

Elsbeth’s fingers twitched, needing to touch him, to prove she wasn’t dreaming. Bishop must’ve sensed her intrigue because he reached for her hand and placed it, palm down, on his chest. His body was warm and undeniably real. “You’re not dreaming, Elsbeth.”

Boom. Boom. Boom.

With every beat of his heart, she inhaled a breath, her skin zapping from the electricity oozing from his body. The tickle of warmth in her chest spread to her entire body. “I don’t want to wake up if I am.”

Masks #coverreveal #inkspellpublish

We all wear masks. I know that I act a certain way when I'm teaching and a different way around my family. I call these different masks, hiding my "real" person from those. Does that make sense? Don't we all hide our true feelings to a point?

What happens though when we take on a different identity for the sake of our family? Author Jennifer Raines writes about a young woman who has been hiding her "true" self from those around her. MASQUERADE is coming out March 5th and features twins and hidden identities. It's a wonderful romance sure to have you demanding more stories!! So preorder today!

Blurb:
Fool me once…
Money won’t bring LIAM QUINN’S father back, but it’ll save his mother’s home. A high-paying law partnership is in his sights. To win it, he needs to successfully land a project. Problem is the project requires absolute confidentiality, and he’s just discovered his estranged identical twin is appearing life size on a billboard across the city. The second catch is a return to environmental law. His earlier career imploded after his lover was revealed as a mining company spy.

Researcher and soon-to-be-published romance author KATE TURNER needs a disguise. Maybe more than one. Her famous playwright father despises ‘trashy’ novels. Her ex-boyfriend mocked her ‘dirty little secret’, then stalked her when she left him. Her identical twin coaxes her into appearing on a billboard to prove she can be notorious and anonymous at the same time. No one connects the billboard model to the dowdy researcher Kate has become, and no one knows about her author pseudonym and second disguise as Ms. Sexy Romance.

Kate and Liam’s lives collide when she’s hired as Liam’s research assistant. Liam’s boss laughs off the billboard. Having doubles is the perfect cover for confidential field work.

A masquerade, a road trip, a steamy attraction, the sudden appearance of Liam’s old lover, and Ms. Sexy Romance’s unexpected arrival in the wrong place at the wrong time, and Liam and Kate discover the steps they took to protect their hearts might break them.

Award winning author Jennifer Raines’ stories combine a love of romance with contemporary conflicts. Her writing is both relevant and heart-warming. Each story is a journey across the world. Jennifer likes to think her readers get occasional hints of the deep passion of a Nora Roberts or the unshakeable loyalty of a Grace Burrowes where love conquers loneliness, distrust and fear.
--“A Jennifer Raines romance will make you sigh in the best possible way!”-- Best Selling Author, Grace Burrowes

About the Author:
Australian Jennifer Raines writes sensual contemporary romances set mainly, but not exclusively, in Australia – think Malta, Finland, New Zealand or ? A dreamer and an optimist, her stories are a delicious cocktail of mutual respect, passion and loyalty because she still believes in happily-ever-afters.

Jennifer fell in love with romance as a teenager. Starting with historical romance. Everything in the school library and then a personal treasured collection of Georgette Heyer, hard copies, paperbacks and ebooks. Comfort food, she calls them, like vegemite toast, for those times when she feels low. Her library of comfort food has grown over the years but Georgette Heyer was an early star, under the blankets after lights out using a torch.

Jennifer is a member of Romance Writers of Australia. Three times a finalist in the Emerald competition, including in 2017 (Common Cause, renamed Lela’s Choice), 2018 (Taylor’s Law) and 2022 (Quinn, by Design – Choosing Family Book 2). She’s a member of Romance Writers of New Zealand, winning the Pacific Hearts competition twice, including in 2019 with Grace Under Fire, the sequel to Taylor’s Law. She’s also a member of Romance Writers of America and has been a finalist in chapter competitions in 2019, 2020 and 2021 (Taylor’s Law). Jennifer won the contemporary romance section in the 2020 Orange Rose Contest for Planting Hope and was second overall. Jennifer values competitions for the constructive, honest, not always comfortable feedback they provide.

In 2023 Jennifer placed second in the Romance Writers of New Zealand Koru Best First Book
Jennifer loves those days when words flow and the joy of writing makes the hard slog worthwhile. She’s always made up stories about strangers in the street, in a café or strolling through an airport terminal; finding inspiration in snippets of conversations, news items and the sheer puzzle of human interactions.

Jennifer lives in inner-city Sydney, Australia, with the requisite number of partners (1) and animals (2). Her desk overlooks a park which nourishes her soul when she raises her head from her keyboard. She gets some of her best ideas during long yin yoga poses or walking – anywhere. While Jennifer adores historical romance, she chose to write contemporary because she thought (wrongly) it needed less research while she was holding down a full-time job.
