War is Hell and the movie Fury leaves you feeling just exactly how horrible it really was. I’m giving this story a B+. Brad Pitt plays a tank commander of a group of ragtag men who’d been together since fighting Nazi’s in Africa. A fresh green soldier joins the ranks and shows the horrors through his naïve eyes. This movie lacks one single moment of happiness which is why I didn’t give it an A. Gritty, bloody and full of realism, Fury tells it like it was in World War 2. The Allies were out gunned against the German tanks, yet bonds formed among the men who stood together against death. At times, I jumped and gasped from the shock. Pitt’s character is one you hate but understand and come to accept. Fury lacks Pitt’s snarkiness from Inglorious Bastards. But it does make you wonder just how much he hates the Nazis. Fury is too dark and horrific for children and some teenagers. Just a warning for anyone who sees it... the images will stay with you for a long time after the movie ends. |
