“I met someone.” I said with anticipation in my voice.

I wasn’t sure how Syn would take it. I knew she understood and accepted that I was a lesbian but seeing your baby
sister involved was hard no matter who it was.

“I’m in love.  She lives in Raleigh and is amazing.”

Today I have visiting fellow Rebel Ink author Wendy Smith.  Thanks for coming by.  Tell us about yourself.
Well I am actually a full time accounting associate at Goodwill Industries of Arkansas. I have 2 children that are actually grown young adults if they knew that I still referred to them as children they would scream.  Actually my boys are great and so is my hubby; he is truly the inspiration to my writing.

What television sitcom is most like your family? Why?  According to Jim – Simply because no matter what Jim does he reminds me of my hubby.

My husband loves that show too!  There is something about Jim that is so much like many men.  Now let's find out a
little about your interests.
Do you prefer…Coke or Pepsi?
Hello COKE

Living without your cell phone or living without your computer?  Take my cell I
could care less all it does is put leash on me.

Thanks!  I love Coke too!  It is my morning drink of choice.  Now let's talk about you as an author…

Did you always want to be an author? Nope believe it or not never even considered it.

What authors had an impact on you growing up and as an adult?  Patricia Cornwell is my favorite author she has a way with her characters that totally amaze me.

Did anyone in your life influence you or encouraged you to be a writer? Funny thing about me becoming a writer it took a bottle of wine, a pool and a whiny husband to get Chase’s Love created.  See I have bought at least 200 books in
a year and my hubby wanted to know if they were tax deductible.  My best friend Dawnn said only if they were a business expense; so he dared Dawnn and I to write a book.  I took his dare and 3 weeks later Chase’s Love was born.

What have you learned the most from being in the writing business?  Patience; I am not a patient person but I have learned to wait for my edits to be finished,
wait for my cover and then scream when they arrive. I love my publisher Rebel Ink Press they are a talented and an amazing group of people.

Tell us about your latest release:
Chase’s Love was released January 3, 2012 with Rebel Ink Press

Rachel wasn't looking for love. As a matter of fact, she'd written off men altogether as the last thing she wanted in her life was another controlling jerk.  At least that was the plan until the guy of her dreams walked into her
life.

Chase Jamison had just got out of the military and was working toward expanding the business he started with his brother and best friends.
He had a goal and he was focused. Never in a million years did Chase expect to find the sexiest woman on earth at his club.

As Chase and Rachel come together and try to find happiness, one question remains. Will Rachel's ex-lover step in and keep the pair from finding true love?

How did you decide on your story plot? I really didn’t I sat down in front of my computer and suddenly about 2,000 words later I had a plot.

How did you choose your characters names and location for your story?  I can’t say that I was crazy inventive but they are people’s names that affected my life
at some time or another.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope my readers will check out your book.  It is a great read!  Let our readers know how they can get a hold of you…

Nervous about how to broach the subject of my feelings, I hopped into the bathtub for a long soak to relax. I thought about Mandy and our time together. I don’t know how we could make things work with us living in two different states.  After all, it didn’t work for Jasmine and I. I’d love to be able to make
this work. Mandy stirs something in me that makes me want to commit.

For the last five weeks, I've spoken about what I found sexy in guys.  Then I gave women a chance to respond for a chance to win a $10 Amazon gift card and beautiful necklace.  Overwhelmingly, the women had very sexy things to say about the guys!  Now it is a guy's turn to let us know what he finds sexy about women!  Today I welcome Rebel Ink Press author Mike Woody who's steamy read is available from Amazon and B&N.  Don't forget to check his book out and respond to his thoughts below!

Women are exceptionally beautiful creatures and while the thought of what makes them sexy is pleasing it can also be difficult, or should I say hard. Every woman is uniquely different and made of their own qualities which may not be as glowing on someone else. However, I’m going to list some traits which I believe makes any woman sexy.

SMILE…In all honesty, ranking above a flat stomach, perky breasts and a curvaceous butt is a bright smile. There’s nothing more alluring
than a radiant smile, it can lighten the darkest of times. It also represents happiness and displays friendliness. Most physical or any type of shortcoming can be made up for with a warm smile, even with a few front teeth missing.

LAUGHTER…Notice I didn’t say snort, but I take delight in guffaws, chuckles, giggles and other expressions of joy. I’m particularly fond of giggles, there seems to be something very flirtatious about that sound. Laughter is even more sexy when its in response to an attempt at being humorous. The heat is turned up even more if whatever the woman is drinking is sent spewing out of her nose!

SCENT…My nose can get aroused too.  A pleasing scent from a woman can be very satisfying, not an overpowering stench but just a slight sweetening to the air. It provides a freshness and a desire for the woman to be closer so the aroma can be fully enjoyed. Just like the smells coming from the kitchen can raise an appetite for food, the scent of a woman can cause hunger too.

Picture
CLEAVAGE…Less is sometimes more, and cleavage is one of those instances. So many times movie previews reveal so much there’s nothing left to see in the full length film. All that’s needed is a slight reveal to build anticipation. Just a hint of cleavage is also a sign of some sophistication. Letting it all hang out might be an enticing sight, it’s not my
type of woman. Leave a little to the  imagination.

MEN’S SHIRT…A white buttoned down dress shirt on a woman, wearing nothing else, is pretty darned sexy. Looks much better on her than on me.

LISTEN…It may sound like nothing, but it’s a turn-on for me when a woman is attentive to what I’m saying and shows an interest. Even if she’s faking. It’s basic human knowledge that communication should be an exchange between talking and listening, but not everyone gets it. For a woman’s eyes to be locked onto mine and engaged in conversation makes me heart swell…yes, I said heart.

WILD SIDE…It’s sexy when looks can be deceiving. I like women who appear dignified and proper to the public, who seemingly would never think any impure thoughts but secretly has a vibrator in her purse. Their wild side is reserved for their special someone. She can appear perfectly in place at the theatre and then give a blowjob in the bathroom during intermission.

Picture
NOT A CALORIE COUNTER… Health is important, but I prefer women who will eat a candy bar  when she wants one rather than having to figure out how much exercise she’ll  have to do to burn it off. Some women are so consumed with dietary fitness they can’t enjoy eating anything.

RED…Last, but certainly not least is red (black is good too) undergarments. HOT. It’s almost always an instant turn-on when I only just
see a woman’s red bra strap poking out of her shirt. It represents sultriness, shows that a fire is burning inside of her and I want to put it out. Lace or see through are nice bonuses, but red is all that I need.

Thanks for stopping by Mike.  Well guys, do you agree or is there something else you believes makes a woman sexy?  Ladies, what makes you feel sexy?

Don't forget to check out Mike's latest release about Twisted Hearts and love inspired stories.

Hello Jasmine!  Thank you for stopping by my blog. I'm sure that readers would like to hear more about you and your latest release.

Tell us about yourself:  I’m British, petite, half Chinese half English. Love to cook. Will read anything with writing on it.

What television sitcom is most like your family? Why? God… probably My Family. It’s British, so most people reading this might not have heard of it. Follow this link… http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006xj32

and why? Because the Dad in it reminds me of my dad. Very embarrassing, in a very British way. It’s a good show, though.

What’s your favorite thing to do to relax? Read, and/or drink a cup of tea. I love tea. Just hook it to my veins.

Do you prefer…
Public speaking or public singing?
Public speaking. I have to do a lot of it for my
day job.

Writing in a notebook or typing on the computer? Typing, because generally I can do it faster than longhand writing.

Coke or Pepsi? Pepsi, always!

Living without your cell phone or living without your computer? I could do without my cell phone as long as I had everyone’s numbers written down on something. I’d pick my computer as I can’t write my books on my cell phone!!

Now about you as an author…

Did you always want to be an author? Yes!  Well, ever since I was about 10, I think. As long as I can remember.

What authors had an impact on you growing up and as an adult? Nora Roberts was the biggest. I could eat her books in one sitting. I also remember being in love with this “Point” series. They had Point Horror, Point Romance, etc. It was for teens but they were pretty long books and I felt so grown up reading
them.

Did anyone in your life influence you or encouraged you to be a writer? (teacher, family member, friend)  My parents have always encouraged me to do
whatever I want to; they’re amazing.

What is your favorite aspect or writing? Your least favorite? Favourite – really getting to know the character in my story. Least favourite – getting to about 5,000 words. I really hit my stride then. Before that it feels like a bit of a slog. It’s just occurred to me that I probably spell “favourite”wrong to you! Ah, language.

What aspect of writing would you most like to improve on? My beginnings. I have a lot of false starts. There are about a thousand half-written books on my hard drive.

Do you have any “must haves” with you while you’re writing? Tea and classical
music.

Do you have a common theme or item that appears in each of your books? Hmm… good humour, maybe? Sweetness and optimism? I like my books to be fun as well as romantic.

What have you learned the most from being in the writing business? Someone once said “being a writer is 4% talent, 96% not going on the internet.” That is so painfully true. You have to make yourself write because no one else is going to kick your ass. In other words, being lazy is a killer if you’re a writer.

Tell us about your latest release: (blurb, excerpt, cover) My latest release came out earlier this month with Rebel Ink Press. It’s called Back at Your Door

Blurb: Laila and Anton grew up together and became fast friends before
becoming lovers. But growing up forced them apart although deep down, Anton
never stopped loving Laila, his first best friend. When a bad break-up brings Laila back into Anton’s life, he’s determined that no matter what, he’ll show her that she's always been the woman for him. And that best friends can make the best lovers.

Excerpt:
“Do you need a hand?” Anton didn’t know why he was offering, but it seemed the thing to do when she’d just cried all over him.

“I...” She made a pfft sound. “You don’t have to help me because I just got
dumped.”

“I’m not. I’m helping you because I’m your friend.”

Laila met his gaze, and for a moment Anton thought he saw something flicker in her eyes. Something that told him maybe she was thinking of their teenage kisses too. Maybe she’s wondered what might have happened if she’d stayed in London.

But he put that from his mind. She’d just come out of a relationship, and he did not want to be the rebound guy. If she even wants a rebound guy. He didn’t want it to be him – but didn’t know how he’d feel about it being someone else.

I want to be the rebound guy but I want to be the next guy, too.

“Okay,” she finally acquiesced. “Thanks, again.”

They sat in companionable silence for a few moments. Anton subtly studied Laila’s face, the delicate curve of her jaw, the long line of her neck, graceful as a swan. The gentle slope of her breasts under her grey dress.

     “So,” Laila started.

Anton chuckled.“Nothing good ever came of conversations that start with that word. But, go ahead.”

“So,” Laila looked at him with something unreadable shadowing her eyes, “Are you going to tell me what happened last night?”

     “Do you want me to?”

She covered her face with one hand the held the coffee in the other. “Was it that bad?”

Anton debated whether he should tell her the truth or not. He could lie and say they’d had mind-blowing sex. He could say they’d done nothing.

Thinking about her lying there underneath him, gasping, her head thrown back in the throes of orgasm, her beautiful eyes locked on his, made desire rush into his body, specifically below the belt. He quelled it. “You were in the bar. You had a cocktail. I’d recognized you at the presentation. I came over, I saw you were upset. We talked.”

Laila winced. “I expect I did most of the talking.”

Great excerpt and blog!  Makes you want to check it out right?

How did you decide on your story plot? I’ve always wanted to write a “friends to lovers” story, so I think the plot has been percolating for some time. Friendship can have so many layers – it’s complex and interesting.

How did you choose your characters names and location for your story? Location was easy; I live in Cardiff so I could write about it without problems. Characters names – I used to know someone called Anton, and I saw the name Laila in a magazine and loved it. I wrote it down in my“Ideas Notebook” – I know, I actually have an ideas notebook, that makes me proud of myself (!!).

Do you have a favorite scene? Why? Probably the very first scene in the book because it was one of the very last scenes that I wrote. I had it roughly sketched but it took weeks before I was ready to flesh it out.

Do you have a character that you identify with? Who and why? That’s a hard question. I think I put a little bit of myself into all my characters; it would be impossible not to.

Six sentences from my latest WIP- Beach Desires

For the last two mornings, I enjoyed getting up at dawn for a run on the beach.  The sun was slowly coming
up and the sounds of the waves and seagulls were the music I needed to soothe my desires for Mandy.  I longed to see her again and was trying to be patient and not come on too strong.  There was something about her outgoing personality that drew me to her like a moth to a flame.  I longed to spend more time with her, but was afraid to push her away.  The daily runs were my way of dealing with my sexual frustration, and pent up desires to feel her skin on mine.

What do you think is SEXY about the opposite sex? Over the last few weeks I've shared my thoughts with you... guys in showers, guys with accents, and guys in uniforms.  But what I find most sexy in a guy is a guy who isn't afraid to make me think.  I'm a person who spends a lot of time studying different cultures, history, and current events.  If I was with a guy who couldn't talk about the world around them, I'd go crazy.

Picture
When a man talks with me, he is engaged in what I am saying, interested in my thoughts and opinions.  Laughter and arguments can occur but both are stimulating. I remember the day that we celebrated my wedding, we laughed a lot with family and friends as we spoke about topics from school reform to blended families. But over the years together, I've realized that while my hubby and I don't always agree on everything, he is always willing to listen to me and talk with me. A man who listens and speaks with me passionately about life is a very sexy man!

In honor of Valentine's Day, tell me what you find sexy in a guy and just for commenting, you can win a beautiful necklace and $10 Amazon gift card.  And don't forget to check out all the prizes available on the blog hop!! http://thebloghopspot.com/event-page/
